@@Sparkofshurima It is a gacha, you pull for characters, it has more virtual "deadweight" currencies than it is healthy of its design and it uses the same gamification tactics most gachas use in order to turn themselves into an expensive habit (warm up offers, daily logins, weekly targets, fomo banners etc etc). And if you are not going to spend real money on it, you will pay with something even more valuable.. TIME! Lots and lots of time doing chores..
I don't need to make assumptions, I've read/heard about those things even from advertisers themselves...
Even the fact, I cannot build the team of characters I like right out of the gate, is a deal breaker for me. All the rest are just extra reasons to not like it.
I know we're all loving the express coughing out those light cones, but I also appreciate Himeko's orbital laser doing nothing (very on brand) and then MC beating the Voidranger with a glorified stick.

as 1.1 player i can tell you the story and gameplay is awesome , i came to the game for one specific character but the story hooked me so bad that i am playing it almost everyday , but also i need to inform new players that the game have a lot of content and you probably get addicted to this game very soon after you start playing , have fun : )

@@dragonriderabens9761 It's got a nice plot and you get some characters for free, which are more than enough to cover the main story. Additional content yeah, would be hard, but as far as gachas go, it's one on the healthier side of things

This is a fantastic time to try out Honkai Star Rail too btw guys. The 2.0 update added a ton of new stuff, a bunch of free pulls, and lots of quality of life upgrades as well. Plus Black Swan as the new limited 5 star character.

It's a gacha game; the casino part is front and center. There is no disguise.
It actually does have a decent amount of strategy mid-lategame as long as you don't pay your way to victory
