Had he lived and survived the AIDS crisis Orton would be in his mid-80s today, which I’m sure would not be to his liking. However, it would be interesting to see if and how he would have changed with the times. The tragedy is that we’ll never know, but that is true of so much that has been lost due to premature death, especially when you consider all that has been lost to HIV/AIDS. So many talented people died, including those whose talents had yet to be realized.

Yes, screenplay called 'Up Against It'. Meant to be a follow-up to Help, but alas never reached production. Full of Orton's favourite subjects: cross-dressing and sexual perversion, which to The Beatles would probably have felt like making a documentary about their first American tour.
