I'm so glad it's been clarified (even if it was already borderline confirmed) that they're fully MCU. These shows are to me some of the best storylines the universe has to offer and I'm very happy it's being acknowledged.

@@erickcalderon6257 They're focusing on the multiverse so that they can start bringing characters outside the MCU into it through, from what I believe I heard, a Crisis on Infinite Earths type deal that merges universes together. So, chances are, the phase after the Multiversa Saga will start telling stories that happened in that five year gap. Maybe not all of the stories will be set then, but probably quite a bit. Kinda like with Widow, Captain Marvel, and even GotG Vol 2 taking place earlier in the timeline than the date of release.

A Bit of Everything dives into the story, concepts and thrives in the analysis of these stories and ideas. The reason I fell in love with CBM content on RUclips, but I don’t watch the mainstream guys like New Rockstar or Heavy Spoilers because of their recent content. You don’t get famous based on Marvel to then bash it now.

I would just like to point out it's not at all unreasonable for Matt to have been recovering for a year and a half after Defenders considering just what his body is put through at the end of that and how much bandaging he has at the beginning of Daredevil season 3. I'm honestly surprised he survived, let alone recovered in under 2 years. I mean, he probably had to heal every bone in his body, or a good number of them, anyway.
ah, I tend to agree. While it is alot longer than I would have assumed just from watching how DD S3 played out, I do feel that amount of time is appropriate. When I did my first attempt at the Netflix timeline, I did get some comments asking me to put Defenders later in the timeline to reduce the gap between Defenders and DD S3. But I was happy to see the D+ timeline put Defenders before Civil War, as I think that fits really well there.
@@AbitofEverything4U I think we are getting the same Foggy and Karen back, but I doubt the others will return for a Daredevil series. Rosario is done with the MCU, hence why she didn't return after Defenders. Mike Colter is done with the character of Luke Cage. As I mentioned in a reply to another comment above, the acctors who portrayed Danny and Coleen aren't likely to return since their series wasn't as beloved as Daredevil, and Krysten won't reprise her character as she decided to quit her. The only other character that I can think of has a chance of reprising his role is Jon Bernthal, since Daredevil: DB is supposedly gonna have the same tone and gore as the Daredevil series. Frankly, DB should just be called Season 4 with that in mind. If Avengers Assemble can have a season called Secret Invasion of labled as Season 3... why can't a live action show do similar?

And I suspect fans would love to see Colleen back again. As for Rosario, she was in Luke Cage Season 2, which came after the Defenders and since she still works for Disney on Star Wars, I bet she'd be fine with another pay check. @@Soron661 this has been a bit debunked. Mike Colter and Krysten Ritter had a kind of "secret" meeting and he hinted at a Jessica Jones/Luke Cage comeback. Also, Krysten Ritter has been very open about wanting to return to Jessica Jones (Michael Rosenbaum's Inside of You Podcast), Marvel wanted her to return too as one of the first plots for Born Again had Matt looking for Jessica Jones (something they now changed into Matt looking for Frank, because Ritter was doing the Orphan Black spin-off), and she has posted a pic with a shirt she wore as Jessica with the caption "iykyk". I guess it's a matter of time for both to return. On Iron Fist's side, they're very secretive with that show and it's characters, there's a rumour that Marvel wants to do a new Iron Fist show with Colleen as the protagonist with Danny as a co-lead (take it with a grain of salt), so either way hopefully Jessica Henwick and Finn Jones return too (the Iron Fist duo meeting up with Shang Chi would be dope). Don't know about Rosario Dawson tho, she's pretty happy with Ahsoka, or any of the other main players of the Marvel/Netflix era like Turk, Hogarth or Misty.
Can't stress how much I appreciate your hard work and your videos! I'm really hoping that Marvel eventually brings back Cloak and Dagger and puts them onto the D+ timeline. These videos and the dedication to showing the Easter Eggs laid in each show really shows how expansive, cohesive (for the most part) and communicative the people behind the scenes working at Marvel can be. It really does line up perfectly and makes this universe even more interesting. Love your videos man! Don't ever stop making these!

We almost got a GR spin-off for Hulu, but it was cancelled before it ever began due to creative differences. Concerning C&D... that show crossed over with the Defenders saga? How come I haven't heard of this until now? True, I didn't watch it as I didn't care for C&D. However, I normally see marvel info involving a series I didn't care for talking about the involvement a character i did care for. The mere fact I haven't heard of this one is a surprise...

So if what you say, ends up being true and Punisher wasn't blipped, maybe he worked together with Clint during his time as Ronin, because I think this would fit very nicely.
It would explain a lot why Clint ended up as a vigilante against crime. Clint could have helped Frank at some point and been convinced to change his ways from being a hero to a killer like Punisher. They just need to show 1 episode with Clint in a crossfire between Frank and a crime faction.
I can't describe how ecstatic I am now that these have been fully canonized. The Punisher S1 was released while I was processing out of Active Duty due to a shoulder injury. One of my most cherished memories was huddling into a group with my Marines to binge the entire season together. I strongly believe that Jon Bernthal should be made an honorary Marine for his depiction of Frank Castle. I have not yet seen all of Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, or Iron Fist, but I'll be fixing that here soon.

I mean DD s3 feels like it should be earlier but Matt was found basically in a coma then was in a catholic church's basement being taken care of by his mom. He was in and out consciousness for a while plus with his hearing and smell shot after the explosion, he was basically Hellen Keller for who on knows how long.
Good point...yeah, he may well have been in a coma for awhile. It feels like the timeline is abit too long between Defenders and DD S3, but I don't see any other way to make it work and I think we can excuse it by going with your excellent theory that he wasn't even conscious for quite some time.

Another comment: Since cloak and dagger have always done their Easter eggs/references the way defenders saga does for the MCU but well, for the defenders saga, that creates the possibility that both runaways and cloak and dagger are candidates for MCU canon. This literally just works out so perfectly without even trying. I’ve always loved that cloak and dagger had so many references to defenders. in season 2 of cloak and dagger when Tyrone aka cloak is reading the headline to a kid he’s looking out for since the kid never learned to read, and it being about Luke cage. It’s also cool they used these versions of the characters cause it doesn’t just connect them indirectly to the defenders saga but it gives more of this power to being able to relate. Cloak and dagger has always strived to speak about social injustices and other shit like drug abuse, alcoholism, racism, drug dealers, police brutality, corrupt justice system, s*x trafficking and more.
Agreed...I think that Cloak and Dagger fits in very well with the overall MCU and it would be very cool if it was pulled in as sacred timeline canon, too. I'm less sure about Runaways, due to the time travel episode at the end of season 3, but that episode aside, I think it could be considered canon as well. The tricky thing is that Marvel seems to have removed Runaways from their inventory, as it used to be on D+ and Hulu and was taken off of both. Not sure what's going on with it, tbh. Anyway, fingers crossed that Marvel decides to bring even more of their pre-D+ shows into canon!

I really hope we get Finn Jones back as ironist in a film, i loved him as a choice for Danny and I think with better writing and choreography he could really shine, his chemistry with Luke cage was spot on
@@AbitofEverything4U I recon the best way they could handle a return would be to not do individual iron fist and Luke cafe shows or films as they were the worst performing and just do a joint iron fist and power man project to get them started, then branch out later

Great video as always, nice to see the shows integrated into the main timeline stuff instead of being separate. Also I don't know if we can for sure say JJ S1 is before AoU. Just because they referred to Hulk means nothing. Look how little Peter knew about Thor and Carol in FFH when Fury (Talos) had to tell him they weren't around. Funny that you mentioned the "terrorized a year ago" sets the date of Punisher S2 despite not being at S2 yet in the video, since it sounds like you're talking about something happening AFTER S2. Also its interesting how they mention 17 years exactly several times ... but in past timeline stuff they've always rounded years up to 20 or 30 years ago. Which makes you wonder if they were being rounded up. I will say I do love seeing the ties into the Civil War fallout which is neat. But also the blip implications of Punisher sounds fun and makes me wanna finish Punisher S2. I do hope one day we get a Claire return, we never truly got her as Night Nurse.

Since AOS avoids Thanos coming to earth I always figured it takes place in the timeline that the avengers fought the earlier version of Thanos since he would be defeated prior to invading earth.

this is a really awesome list, i thought Punisher season 2 was just all after the blip based on its release, but the dates make a lot of sense. I would love to see Agents of Shield legitimized in the same way as part of the MCU timeline aswell at some stage though. The timeline definitely diverges from later seasons but earlier on there are so many connections to other things in this timeline including all the defenders shows it would be really interesting to see each AOS season layed out visually in the same way.

I've been watching the defenders saga for the past year and half, just finished The Defenders and about to start Punisher S1 and JJ S2! I actually liked Iron Fist S1 minus most of the choreography and resurrection plot
Yeah, I agree... IF S1 was mostly a choreography issue for me. But it does get better in S2. Glad you are watching the Defenders shows. Definitely some of the best content Marvel has put out!
Not really, maybe the Inhuman Outbreak and the ATCU would be more questionable but other than those most of the series can be written off as relatively isolated. Unless you’re talking about placement in the D+ timeline then yeah that would be hectic.
Yeah, it would be great to see AoS get added in next. As @augustmyers339 said, I think the Inhumans outbreak and the ATCU make it tricky, and I also think the time travel in S5 is tricky as well, but I do hope Feige is giving it consideration.

@@AbitofEverything4U There has always been a thought in the back of my mind that different methods of time travel have different rules (i.e. Time Stone, Quantum Realm, Time Di'Alla), as it would explain some of the times when we see time travel that doesn’t follow the endgame rules like in Ms. Marvel and Runaways. Although it’s probably not the case, I still think it’s an interesting idea.
I am so happy they finally officially confirmed these shows are canon and the placement is more or less what I already expected. Next stop, I hope, is to officially confirm Agents of Shield, Slingshot, Agent Carter, Inhumans, Runaways, Cloak & Dagger and Helstrom.

Thank you so much for this video. I never managed to binge all Netflix Marvel shows so I had no idea where each one fit in the MCU timeline. Very interesting to see how the Sokovia Accords and the Thanos' snap affected each show. Would definitely love to see what DaredeviI and Punisher were up to during those 5 years. If there is a 'Punisher' Season 3, I'd love to see Frank dealing with really heavy level crime like human trafficking rings during that time.

Are you going to do a video where you place Agent Carter, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Inhumans, Cloak & Dagger and Runaways? We know they are also apart of the Sacred Timeline. Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man confirms that, with a cameo from Nico Minoru, who was a main character during Runaways Season 1, Runaways Season 2 & Runaways Season 3.
He has done those videos in the past but not with updated timeline information. While I agree that the pre D+ shows are cannon, Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man will not be cannon. Also, unfortunately a different actress will be portraying Nico, Grace Song rather than Lyrica Okano.
@@augustmyers339Well basically anything that's apart of the sacred timeline is pretty much cannon to the MCU at this point, even if it takes place in another part of the multiverse.
Great question...so I did some earlier vids on the timelines and for the most part, they are still accurate. The AoS vid changed just slightly, as the timeline book moved Iron Man 3 to Dec, 2013 and I had it in Dec, 2012. But otherwise, the vids hold up very well. As for whether I'll add them into the main MCU timeline, I'll probably wait and see what Feige does with them. Fingers crossed that they continue to make the pre-D+ shows part of the sacred timeline!
@@iraford5788 Exactly...the nice thing about the multiverse is that it makes everything canon in that regard. I likely won't add the other shows into the overall timeline unless the D+ timeline adds them, but I do have vids that cover the timelines for all the pre-D+ shows.
I like to think of these shows as the filler in between the movies its nice to bridge massive gaps in certain years and really fleshes out the MCU. Once again excellent job good sir

In fashion, when they showcase their spring/summer collection, it's in the previous season. So fall/winter will be showcased in spring and Spring/summer will be showcased in Fall.
Interesting.. thanks for sharing that info, as that could indeed explain some of the references to the spring/summer wear if the season is set in November (which explains the Mother's Day reference and the football game as well). On the flip side, they also have some references to it being a year since the second season and that emails saying it's spring...so the season is honestly all over the place on the timeline hints. I think the biggest concern is that the season seems to be set before the blip, so that's why it feels like an April-May, 2018 timeframe works best. You left out Brett Mahoney in the side character section. He appears in most of the Daredevil series, both seasons of the Punisher series and at least one episode of Jessica Jones season one.
Good point! He's great character and I'd love to see him back. I do give him a nice shout out in the follow-up to the timeline vid, where I discuss all the open plot lines from the Defenders series, but I definitely should have included him in this vid as well.
Have you looked into Agents of Shield yet? I'd love to hear your thoughts on the later seasons. I remember coming to the conclusion that there's some kind of causality paradox when attempted to fit with Infinity War. There's of course Michael Waldrin calling it "one other tendril of the multiverse," so I suppose writing it out as being one tick off from the main continuity is an option if we get desperate. Looks like I'm not the first person to theorize about this by some of the Reddit threads that just came up in my search
Excellent question. I did indeed do a timeline vid for AoS: ruclips.net/video/dAgteDyx6MU/видео.html, and similar to what you said, I do theorize about some alternate timeline possibilities. The vid also covers Agent Carter and Inhumans, so it has all the ABC shows in it.
I'm glad you did this. I'm a blu ray collector and got a bit of ocd where I like to order my collection in the chronological order. Just think it looks cool on the shelf all together. Now that they have confirmed they are canon ( again since they've always been canon. That's how they shows were advertised since the beginning from Colson coming back to name drops every season etc. Just the canceling of the Netflix shows confused everyone. Which honestly Marvel should have done a much better job at clearing all this up the moment Disney canceled all of the Netflix shows to make room for D plus shows.) But Echo got me in the mood to rewatch the entire series again especially when you realize DD season 3 came out in 2017..... feeling old. So definitely cool to see the correct order to place them in. Disney for whatever reason stopped releasing blu rays for them after Luke Cage seaon1 but there are certain fan websites that make store quality blu rays. I have been owned my favorites from Netflix like Punisher and DD and Defenders but after Best Buy stopped selling movies and me realizing Disney hasn't released shows on dvd since 2017 I just splurged and spent a small fortune to collect all the one's I'm missing. Knowing my luck now that I did that they will release them all on steelbooks like they did with Loki and Wandavision and I'll spend another fortune double dipping. But ignoring the timeline there are certain movies I think just go in the collection looking better. For instance even if Ragnorok and Infinity War happen months a part, I like them together since Rag ends with the Asgardians on a ship escaping and Infinity War begins with Thanos attacking. Or Even though Spiderman 2 and 3 take place over 6 months I like them together because of the cliffhanger. One that I was confused about where to put is Dr Strange. Since it happens over a year do I put it at the beginning or end. I came to the conclusion that the end works better because the beginning was origin based and the end is the full story. Him becoming the Dr Strange from the comics. So I think the ending is the most important bulk of the story.
That's cool to learn that you can find places to get the missing blu rays for the the Defenders shows. I do wonder if Marvel will start issuing steel books for them, but if not, then you are set! And yeah, it's hard to know what to do with things like Thor: Ragnarok, since the post credit jumps several months. So theoretically the best watch order would be: 1. Main part of Thor: Ragnarok 2. All the Defenders shows that happen (this gives the feeling of time passing for Thor and crew as they head thru space) 3. Post credit for Thor: Ragnarok But that can end up being more work than its worth. And yeah, it's the same situation with Dr. Strange. I think Dr. Strange makes more sense to place it in the watch order when it ends, rather than where it begins. But ig the perfect answer is to watch the beginning of the movie with his accident, then civil war and the fallout movies, then the rest of Dr. Strange. This provides (similar to Ragnarok) a sense of just how long Dr. Strange was searching for a fix for his hands.
infographic is evolving day by day. you may think to create a Version 2 of this infographic with adding next potential canons such as AOS, inhumans (AOS after season 4 or 5 fits with branch timeline rules, Loki easily retcons this) then V3 with combining others like Ghost Rider, Runaways, Cloak and Dagger, etc as you know then V4 with combining Legion, all of the X-men series, the new mutants, logan, the gifted and deadpools then V5 adding extra layer to this infographic with adding multiverse connections that may starts with spiderverse connections then V6 potential fantastic four and still there will be so much projects to add after phase 5, 6, 7, 8... On the other hand, the blip years are still mystery and foggy for most of characters, we may discover krokoa and mutants between these years, maybe they gain more powers after first snap and began to form x-men, or they were hiding in krokoa (or some of them were abducted and taken to secret labs to be researched on them in Korea or somewhere around) for many many years. Then, after first snap they decided to meet and intervene with other countries as if they were unexplored island nation. btw, to answer why they were not in the thanos war, actually they can retcon this easily. We can see a small scene as a memory of cyclops or anybody, they were actually there but so far from the og avengers, that's why we didn't see them there. It'd work with inhumans too. Or, Inhumans may have been fighting against something. (As you remember, Kevin Feige once said there were a lot of rooms for many characters for that scene... well... well...) bonus: I'd also like to see an extra portal scene where deadpool appears while the battle is ongoing and decides to go back or jump to somewhere else. Because of feeling to tired to kill lots of aliens. (extra humiliations or mocks with some of heroes or thanos could be an epic, as well)
Yeah, I do wonder if Marvel will continue to add more of the pre-Disney+ shows into sacred timeline canon. My gut tells me this is it, since the others are abit trickier to add into the sacred timeline (other than Agent Carter, which has always surprised me that it's not considered canon). However, I do have separate timelines for the ABC shows, the Hulu/Freeform shows, the news casts, the Sony films, the Fox films, and the other multiversal films. In season 2 of Daredevil, Claire tells Foggy references how she helped out Luke Cage in Jessica Jones season 1. So that better helps put Jessica Jones s2 between DD s1 & 2 I mean, s2 of Iron Fist literally starts with Danny being a vigilante, and saying how he’s doing this because Matt asked him to. So even without the Marvel statements, we already got that from the show

Besides Daredevil, I had never watched the Netflix shows, After they entered the canon, I've been watching them all, I'm in the third season of Jéssica Jones, soon I'll be able to watch this video

Man I was so happy to hear this, and with how interconnected the defenders saga is with everything else I can’t see a way that this is canon but everything else isn’t. Without crusher creel from agents of shield daredevil literally doesn’t exist, plus agent Carter was basically confirmed canon with the appearance of jarvis, and has a ton of connections to agents of shield, also without agents of shield inhumans doesnt exist and we saw a black bolt variant in multiverse of madness, and with Brigid and Misty referencing each other that means that cloak and dagger has to be canon and with its crossover with runaways that’s canon too. Helstroms always been a weird case so while I definitely think it’s canon this is the only one i can really see them throwing out at this point. This also really cements my idea that the Disney plus timeline isn’t definitive, and I recently saw a quote from d’onofrio where he said they had a meeting recently to make them canon but i really don’t know how that works since they’ve been directly referencing marvel tv since endgame and hawkeye very concretely made daredevil canon. I really don’t know how the internals of marvel studios works but my guess is there must’ve been some kind of debate where some people considered it always canon and others didn’t until they came to this unison with echo. That’s the only way i can understand these references to these who happening before it was supposedly confirmed internally
Great job with the timeline, I can't wait to see the rest of the defenders characters to show up in the MCU. I would love for Luke Cage and Punisher to appear in Spider Man 4 to hunt peter down just like their I believe first appearance in comics, it would be funny to see Frank interact with the Guardians of the Galaxy and even funnier if he tried to fight them ngl no matter if it's Quill's or Rocket's teams Frank would lose badly.
Doesn't change anything since there's already a line from No Way Home to She-Hulk, but I was a little surprised you didn't mention Daredevil's She-Hulk appearance there with the Hawkeye to Echo bit. Anyway, this is cool. I didn't get far in Daredevil because I was afraid of watching the Defenders saga out of order, so maybe now I'll get to it (although I do know people have had guides for it forever, I just haven't gotten around to it).

I totally forgot that I stopped watching when it was clear they WEREN'T canon. So since characters are coming back, I can look forward to the rewatch plus Punisher season 2 and JJ s3. Hawkeye's arc with the blip was cool. Would love if Born Again had Punisher as well and their stories jumped back and forth from present MCU to the blip years and now they're dealing with the consequences of their actions during a time they didn't think would be reversed.

technically the Disney+ timeline isn't all sacred timeline, since What If is in there as well. I wonder if it would be possible to calculate placements for all the Spider-Man & X-Men movies based on the time that passed between their last non-MCU appearance and their MCU role
Good point about What If...they seem to have included it in the D+ timeline for the same reason that it's in the timeline book...which is that it is a direct branch off the sacred timeline. But you are definitely right...What If is an exception. As for placements for the Spider-Man and X-men movies, I suspect it won't be easy, since Tobey and Andrew's Spider-Men didn't give us an indication of what point they were pulled from their universes. Bummer!
of course the X-Men reboot complicates matters. The way I would do it is I would put the original timeline all the way up to Days of Future Past after Agent Carter, then when the timeline resets we go by date from then on. This would frontload the timeline with a lot of X-Men stuff but that's what makes sense to me.

My head canon for why Echo isn't in Defenders is... she didn't join kingpin fully untill her dad died. He died during the blip so she didn't join him till around 2019ish. Now only thing is y does he act like he has no family in Defenders Saga while he had a God daughter he was kind of looking after. Would have loved a scene where after he beet up the icecream man her dad pleaded that he keeps a distance from her. Of corse untill he dies
Yeah, I agree on your head canon for my Echo wasn't seen during the Defenders. And while Kingpin acted like he had no family, that was likely to protect Echo from the danger of his "business". So that's why we didn't know about her until her father died. I think you nailed it!
I dont remember where I heard this from but when the shows were coming out I remember hearing that the Netflix shows took place during the same time the shows were filming. Idk if that fits what you concluded or not but just something to think about .
Yes, in some cases, that turned out to be true. As time went on, I think they condensed the timeline abit, though. By the time Iron Fist S1 came out in 2017, the timeline was still back in 2016. But then it continued to be only a year different, with the final show (JJ S3) coming out in 2019 but happening right before the blip in 2018.
I've been going over my timeline to try and tighten all the placements up and I really wanted to perfectly place the overlaps in Daredevil season 2 and Luke Cage season 1... I was wondering if you feel this could work or if you notice any contradictions Start with Daredevil up until episode 8 and then watch Luke cage episode 1, episode for episode with each shows until you get to episode 12 and 5 respectively, so it matches up with Claire leaving hells kitchen in DD episode 11 and arriving in Harlem in LC episode 5... then finish season 1 of luke cage and then the finale of daredevil season 2, since with the dates provided and the epilogue being Christmas Eve it only makes sense that theres a bit of a time gap between daredevil episodes 12 and 13 as well as episode 13 having to take place after luke cage season 1. Feel free to not even bother with reading it or trying to process it. 😂😂
I think that sounds like a good way to watch them. As you mention, the key episodes are DD 11 and LC 5. As long as those are watched in the correct order, then the rest falls into place. So the way you have them broken up is great. Nice call!
I just don’t understand how it’s a confusing timeline for anyone. They technically could just fit anywhere as long as it’s before infinity war especially since it’s street level crime so most aren’t paying attention to all that stuff too

@@erickcalderon6257 They're focusing on the multiverse so that they can start bringing characters outside the MCU into it through, from what I believe I heard, a Crisis on Infinite Earths type deal that merges universes together. So, chances are, the phase after the Multiversa Saga will start telling stories that happened in that five year gap. Maybe not all of the stories will be set then, but probably quite a bit. Kinda like with Widow, Captain Marvel, and even GotG Vol 2 taking place earlier in the timeline than the date of release.

A Bit of Everything dives into the story, concepts and thrives in the analysis of these stories and ideas. The reason I fell in love with CBM content on RUclips, but I don’t watch the mainstream guys like New Rockstar or Heavy Spoilers because of their recent content. You don’t get famous based on Marvel to then bash it now.

I would just like to point out it's not at all unreasonable for Matt to have been recovering for a year and a half after Defenders considering just what his body is put through at the end of that and how much bandaging he has at the beginning of Daredevil season 3. I'm honestly surprised he survived, let alone recovered in under 2 years. I mean, he probably had to heal every bone in his body, or a good number of them, anyway.
ah, I tend to agree. While it is alot longer than I would have assumed just from watching how DD S3 played out, I do feel that amount of time is appropriate. When I did my first attempt at the Netflix timeline, I did get some comments asking me to put Defenders later in the timeline to reduce the gap between Defenders and DD S3. But I was happy to see the D+ timeline put Defenders before Civil War, as I think that fits really well there.

@@AbitofEverything4U I think we are getting the same Foggy and Karen back, but I doubt the others will return for a Daredevil series. Rosario is done with the MCU, hence why she didn't return after Defenders. Mike Colter is done with the character of Luke Cage. As I mentioned in a reply to another comment above, the acctors who portrayed Danny and Coleen aren't likely to return since their series wasn't as beloved as Daredevil, and Krysten won't reprise her character as she decided to quit her. The only other character that I can think of has a chance of reprising his role is Jon Bernthal, since Daredevil: DB is supposedly gonna have the same tone and gore as the Daredevil series. Frankly, DB should just be called Season 4 with that in mind. If Avengers Assemble can have a season called Secret Invasion of labled as Season 3... why can't a live action show do similar?

@@Soron661 this has been a bit debunked. Mike Colter and Krysten Ritter had a kind of "secret" meeting and he hinted at a Jessica Jones/Luke Cage comeback. Also, Krysten Ritter has been very open about wanting to return to Jessica Jones (Michael Rosenbaum's Inside of You Podcast), Marvel wanted her to return too as one of the first plots for Born Again had Matt looking for Jessica Jones (something they now changed into Matt looking for Frank, because Ritter was doing the Orphan Black spin-off), and she has posted a pic with a shirt she wore as Jessica with the caption "iykyk". I guess it's a matter of time for both to return.
On Iron Fist's side, they're very secretive with that show and it's characters, there's a rumour that Marvel wants to do a new Iron Fist show with Colleen as the protagonist with Danny as a co-lead (take it with a grain of salt), so either way hopefully Jessica Henwick and Finn Jones return too (the Iron Fist duo meeting up with Shang Chi would be dope). Don't know about Rosario Dawson tho, she's pretty happy with Ahsoka, or any of the other main players of the Marvel/Netflix era like Turk, Hogarth or Misty.

How come I haven't heard of this until now? True, I didn't watch it as I didn't care for C&D. However, I normally see marvel info involving a series I didn't care for talking about the involvement a character i did care for. The mere fact I haven't heard of this one is a surprise...

It would explain a lot why Clint ended up as a vigilante against crime. Clint could have helped Frank at some point and been convinced to change his ways from being a hero to a killer like Punisher. They just need to show 1 episode with Clint in a crossfire between Frank and a crime faction.

I can't describe how ecstatic I am now that these have been fully canonized. The Punisher S1 was released while I was processing out of Active Duty due to a shoulder injury. One of my most cherished memories was huddling into a group with my Marines to binge the entire season together. I strongly believe that Jon Bernthal should be made an honorary Marine for his depiction of Frank Castle. I have not yet seen all of Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, or Iron Fist, but I'll be fixing that here soon.

I mean DD s3 feels like it should be earlier but Matt was found basically in a coma then was in a catholic church's basement being taken care of by his mom. He was in and out consciousness for a while plus with his hearing and smell shot after the explosion, he was basically Hellen Keller for who on knows how long.
Good point...yeah, he may well have been in a coma for awhile. It feels like the timeline is abit too long between Defenders and DD S3, but I don't see any other way to make it work and I think we can excuse it by going with your excellent theory that he wasn't even conscious for quite some time.

Since cloak and dagger have always done their Easter eggs/references the way defenders saga does for the MCU but well, for the defenders saga, that creates the possibility that both runaways and cloak and dagger are candidates for MCU canon. This literally just works out so perfectly without even trying. I’ve always loved that cloak and dagger had so many references to defenders. in season 2 of cloak and dagger when Tyrone aka cloak is reading the headline to a kid he’s looking out for since the kid never learned to read, and it being about Luke cage. It’s also cool they used these versions of the characters cause it doesn’t just connect them indirectly to the defenders saga but it gives more of this power to being able to relate. Cloak and dagger has always strived to speak about social injustices and other shit like drug abuse, alcoholism, racism, drug dealers, police brutality, corrupt justice system, s*x trafficking and more.
Agreed...I think that Cloak and Dagger fits in very well with the overall MCU and it would be very cool if it was pulled in as sacred timeline canon, too. I'm less sure about Runaways, due to the time travel episode at the end of season 3, but that episode aside, I think it could be considered canon as well. The tricky thing is that Marvel seems to have removed Runaways from their inventory, as it used to be on D+ and Hulu and was taken off of both. Not sure what's going on with it, tbh. Anyway, fingers crossed that Marvel decides to bring even more of their pre-D+ shows into canon!
Just saw that Disney+ has officially broken up the MCU timeline by seasons and it aligns perfectly with this video. I came back to this video to say kudos! What an awesome job breaking it down, so much so that even Marvel is officially sticking with it. Excited for more of your stuff going forward!

Great video as always, nice to see the shows integrated into the main timeline stuff instead of being separate. Also I don't know if we can for sure say JJ S1 is before AoU. Just because they referred to Hulk means nothing. Look how little Peter knew about Thor and Carol in FFH when Fury (Talos) had to tell him they weren't around. Funny that you mentioned the "terrorized a year ago" sets the date of Punisher S2 despite not being at S2 yet in the video, since it sounds like you're talking about something happening AFTER S2. Also its interesting how they mention 17 years exactly several times ... but in past timeline stuff they've always rounded years up to 20 or 30 years ago. Which makes you wonder if they were being rounded up. I will say I do love seeing the ties into the Civil War fallout which is neat. But also the blip implications of Punisher sounds fun and makes me wanna finish Punisher S2. I do hope one day we get a Claire return, we never truly got her as Night Nurse.

I agree, the mentions of the Hulk aren't enough to definitely place JJ S1 before AoU, but if you add in where the D+ timeline places the show, then I feel more comfortable with saying it's before AoU. I think the D+ timeline always has been closely watched by Marvel to ensure its accuracy...even moreso now that the timeline book is out.
2. I hope I didn't misstate something in the vid. The "terrorized" quote was referring to DD S2 rather than Punisher S2.
3. Yeah, I can only assume they mention specifically 17 years since it was a very traumatic event in Jessica's life and so they are more specific in that instance.
4. And want to see Claire return as well. She was a fantastic character!
A show with them during the blip would be amazing. Imagine all these characters interacting with like Hawkeye or even Sharon Carter.

Since AOS avoids Thanos coming to earth I always figured it takes place in the timeline that the avengers fought the earlier version of Thanos since he would be defeated prior to invading earth.

this is a really awesome list, i thought Punisher season 2 was just all after the blip based on its release, but the dates make a lot of sense.
I would love to see Agents of Shield legitimized in the same way as part of the MCU timeline aswell at some stage though. The timeline definitely diverges from later seasons but earlier on there are so many connections to other things in this timeline including all the defenders shows it would be really interesting to see each AOS season layed out visually in the same way.

I've been watching the defenders saga for the past year and half, just finished The Defenders and about to start Punisher S1 and JJ S2!

Not really, maybe the Inhuman Outbreak and the ATCU would be more questionable but other than those most of the series can be written off as relatively isolated. Unless you’re talking about placement in the D+ timeline then yeah that would be hectic.
Yeah, it would be great to see AoS get added in next. As @augustmyers339 said, I think the Inhumans outbreak and the ATCU make it tricky, and I also think the time travel in S5 is tricky as well, but I do hope Feige is giving it consideration.

@@AbitofEverything4U There has always been a thought in the back of my mind that different methods of time travel have different rules (i.e. Time Stone, Quantum Realm, Time Di'Alla), as it would explain some of the times when we see time travel that doesn’t follow the endgame rules like in Ms. Marvel and Runaways. Although it’s probably not the case, I still think it’s an interesting idea.

Are you going to do a video where you place Agent Carter, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Inhumans, Cloak & Dagger and Runaways? We know they are also apart of the Sacred Timeline. Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man confirms that, with a cameo from Nico Minoru, who was a main character during Runaways Season 1, Runaways Season 2 & Runaways Season 3.
He has done those videos in the past but not with updated timeline information. While I agree that the pre D+ shows are cannon, Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man will not be cannon. Also, unfortunately a different actress will be portraying Nico, Grace Song rather than Lyrica Okano.
@@augustmyers339Well basically anything that's apart of the sacred timeline is pretty much cannon to the MCU at this point, even if it takes place in another part of the multiverse.
Great question...so I did some earlier vids on the timelines and for the most part, they are still accurate. The AoS vid changed just slightly, as the timeline book moved Iron Man 3 to Dec, 2013 and I had it in Dec, 2012. But otherwise, the vids hold up very well. As for whether I'll add them into the main MCU timeline, I'll probably wait and see what Feige does with them. Fingers crossed that they continue to make the pre-D+ shows part of the sacred timeline!

In fashion, when they showcase their spring/summer collection, it's in the previous season. So fall/winter will be showcased in spring and Spring/summer will be showcased in Fall.
Interesting.. thanks for sharing that info, as that could indeed explain some of the references to the spring/summer wear if the season is set in November (which explains the Mother's Day reference and the football game as well). On the flip side, they also have some references to it being a year since the second season and that emails saying it's spring...so the season is honestly all over the place on the timeline hints. I think the biggest concern is that the season seems to be set before the blip, so that's why it feels like an April-May, 2018 timeframe works best. Have you looked into Agents of Shield yet? I'd love to hear your thoughts on the later seasons. I remember coming to the conclusion that there's some kind of causality paradox when attempted to fit with Infinity War. There's of course Michael Waldrin calling it "one other tendril of the multiverse," so I suppose writing it out as being one tick off from the main continuity is an option if we get desperate. Looks like I'm not the first person to theorize about this by some of the Reddit threads that just came up in my search

I'm glad you did this. I'm a blu ray collector and got a bit of ocd where I like to order my collection in the chronological order. Just think it looks cool on the shelf all together. Now that they have confirmed they are canon ( again since they've always been canon. That's how they shows were advertised since the beginning from Colson coming back to name drops every season etc. Just the canceling of the Netflix shows confused everyone. Which honestly Marvel should have done a much better job at clearing all this up the moment Disney canceled all of the Netflix shows to make room for D plus shows.) But Echo got me in the mood to rewatch the entire series again especially when you realize DD season 3 came out in 2017..... feeling old. So definitely cool to see the correct order to place them in. Disney for whatever reason stopped releasing blu rays for them after Luke Cage seaon1 but there are certain fan websites that make store quality blu rays. I have been owned my favorites from Netflix like Punisher and DD and Defenders but after Best Buy stopped selling movies and me realizing Disney hasn't released shows on dvd since 2017 I just splurged and spent a small fortune to collect all the one's I'm missing. Knowing my luck now that I did that they will release them all on steelbooks like they did with Loki and Wandavision and I'll spend another fortune double dipping. But ignoring the timeline there are certain movies I think just go in the collection looking better. For instance even if Ragnorok and Infinity War happen months a part, I like them together since Rag ends with the Asgardians on a ship escaping and Infinity War begins with Thanos attacking. Or Even though Spiderman 2 and 3 take place over 6 months I like them together because of the cliffhanger. One that I was confused about where to put is Dr Strange. Since it happens over a year do I put it at the beginning or end. I came to the conclusion that the end works better because the beginning was origin based and the end is the full story. Him becoming the Dr Strange from the comics. So I think the ending is the most important bulk of the story.
That's cool to learn that you can find places to get the missing blu rays for the the Defenders shows. I do wonder if Marvel will start issuing steel books for them, but if not, then you are set!
And yeah, it's hard to know what to do with things like Thor: Ragnarok, since the post credit jumps several months. So theoretically the best watch order would be:
1. Main part of Thor: Ragnarok
2. All the Defenders shows that happen (this gives the feeling of time passing for Thor and crew as they head thru space)
3. Post credit for Thor: Ragnarok
But that can end up being more work than its worth.
And yeah, it's the same situation with Dr. Strange. I think Dr. Strange makes more sense to place it in the watch order when it ends, rather than where it begins. But ig the perfect answer is to watch the beginning of the movie with his accident, then civil war and the fallout movies, then the rest of Dr. Strange. This provides (similar to Ragnarok) a sense of just how long Dr. Strange was searching for a fix for his hands.
infographic is evolving day by day. you may think to create a Version 2 of this infographic with adding next potential canons such as AOS, inhumans (AOS after season 4 or 5 fits with branch timeline rules, Loki easily retcons this)
then V3 with combining others like Ghost Rider, Runaways, Cloak and Dagger, etc as you know
then V4 with combining Legion, all of the X-men series, the new mutants, logan, the gifted and deadpools
then V5 adding extra layer to this infographic with adding multiverse connections that may starts with spiderverse connections
then V6 potential fantastic four
and still there will be so much projects to add after phase 5, 6, 7, 8...
On the other hand, the blip years are still mystery and foggy for most of characters, we may discover krokoa and mutants between these years, maybe they gain more powers after first snap and began to form x-men, or they were hiding in krokoa (or some of them were abducted and taken to secret labs to be researched on them in Korea or somewhere around) for many many years. Then, after first snap they decided to meet and intervene with other countries as if they were unexplored island nation. btw, to answer why they were not in the thanos war, actually they can retcon this easily. We can see a small scene as a memory of cyclops or anybody, they were actually there but so far from the og avengers, that's why we didn't see them there. It'd work with inhumans too. Or, Inhumans may have been fighting against something. (As you remember, Kevin Feige once said there were a lot of rooms for many characters for that scene... well... well...)
bonus: I'd also like to see an extra portal scene where deadpool appears while the battle is ongoing and decides to go back or jump to somewhere else. Because of feeling to tired to kill lots of aliens. (extra humiliations or mocks with some of heroes or thanos could be an epic, as well)
Yeah, I do wonder if Marvel will continue to add more of the pre-Disney+ shows into sacred timeline canon. My gut tells me this is it, since the others are abit trickier to add into the sacred timeline (other than Agent Carter, which has always surprised me that it's not considered canon). However, I do have separate timelines for the ABC shows, the Hulu/Freeform shows, the news casts, the Sony films, the Fox films, and the other multiversal films. Man I was so happy to hear this, and with how interconnected the defenders saga is with everything else I can’t see a way that this is canon but everything else isn’t. Without crusher creel from agents of shield daredevil literally doesn’t exist, plus agent Carter was basically confirmed canon with the appearance of jarvis, and has a ton of connections to agents of shield, also without agents of shield inhumans doesnt exist and we saw a black bolt variant in multiverse of madness, and with Brigid and Misty referencing each other that means that cloak and dagger has to be canon and with its crossover with runaways that’s canon too. Helstroms always been a weird case so while I definitely think it’s canon this is the only one i can really see them throwing out at this point.
This also really cements my idea that the Disney plus timeline isn’t definitive, and I recently saw a quote from d’onofrio where he said they had a meeting recently to make them canon but i really don’t know how that works since they’ve been directly referencing marvel tv since endgame and hawkeye very concretely made daredevil canon. I really don’t know how the internals of marvel studios works but my guess is there must’ve been some kind of debate where some people considered it always canon and others didn’t until they came to this unison with echo. That’s the only way i can understand these references to these who happening before it was supposedly confirmed internally
Yeah, i'd love to be a fly on the wall during some of those discussions regarding what is and isn't canon.
Great job with the timeline, I can't wait to see the rest of the defenders characters to show up in the MCU. I would love for Luke Cage and Punisher to appear in Spider Man 4 to hunt peter down just like their I believe first appearance in comics, it would be funny to see Frank interact with the Guardians of the Galaxy and even funnier if he tried to fight them ngl no matter if it's Quill's or Rocket's teams Frank would lose badly.

Doesn't change anything since there's already a line from No Way Home to She-Hulk, but I was a little surprised you didn't mention Daredevil's She-Hulk appearance there with the Hawkeye to Echo bit.
Anyway, this is cool. I didn't get far in Daredevil because I was afraid of watching the Defenders saga out of order, so maybe now I'll get to it (although I do know people have had guides for it forever, I just haven't gotten around to it).

I totally forgot that I stopped watching when it was clear they WEREN'T canon. So since characters are coming back, I can look forward to the rewatch plus Punisher season 2 and JJ s3. Hawkeye's arc with the blip was cool. Would love if Born Again had Punisher as well and their stories jumped back and forth from present MCU to the blip years and now they're dealing with the consequences of their actions during a time they didn't think would be reversed.

technically the Disney+ timeline isn't all sacred timeline, since What If is in there as well. I wonder if it would be possible to calculate placements for all the Spider-Man & X-Men movies based on the time that passed between their last non-MCU appearance and their MCU role
Good point about What If...they seem to have included it in the D+ timeline for the same reason that it's in the timeline book...which is that it is a direct branch off the sacred timeline. But you are definitely right...What If is an exception. As for placements for the Spider-Man and X-men movies, I suspect it won't be easy, since Tobey and Andrew's Spider-Men didn't give us an indication of what point they were pulled from their universes. Bummer!
of course the X-Men reboot complicates matters. The way I would do it is I would put the original timeline all the way up to Days of Future Past after Agent Carter, then when the timeline resets we go by date from then on. This would frontload the timeline with a lot of X-Men stuff but that's what makes sense to me.

Really surprised they are now MCU canon. Stopped watching them after a few episodes of Iron Fist. Nice they can be slotted in without breaking too much MCU lore unlike last few seasons of AoS.
I agree...the Defenders shows fit in so nicely into canon. Will be interesting to see if Marvel brings in any other shows. The door is certainly open, but I do agree with you that some of the other shows, such as AoS, have some issues that would need to be dealt with.

My head canon for why Echo isn't in Defenders is... she didn't join kingpin fully untill her dad died. He died during the blip so she didn't join him till around 2019ish.
Now only thing is y does he act like he has no family in Defenders Saga while he had a God daughter he was kind of looking after. Would have loved a scene where after he beet up the icecream man her dad pleaded that he keeps a distance from her. Of corse untill he dies
Yeah, I agree on your head canon for my Echo wasn't seen during the Defenders. And while Kingpin acted like he had no family, that was likely to protect Echo from the danger of his "business". So that's why we didn't know about her until her father died. I think you nailed it!
If they are planning to make Marvel's Defenders Season 2, it's possible that Echo will join the Defenders team.

I dont remember where I heard this from but when the shows were coming out I remember hearing that the Netflix shows took place during the same time the shows were filming. Idk if that fits what you concluded or not but just something to think about .
Yes, in some cases, that turned out to be true. As time went on, I think they condensed the timeline abit, though. By the time Iron Fist S1 came out in 2017, the timeline was still back in 2016. But then it continued to be only a year different, with the final show (JJ S3) coming out in 2019 but happening right before the blip in 2018.
I've been going over my timeline to try and tighten all the placements up and I really wanted to perfectly place the overlaps in Daredevil season 2 and Luke Cage season 1... I was wondering if you feel this could work or if you notice any contradictions
Start with Daredevil up until episode 8 and then watch Luke cage episode 1, episode for episode with each shows until you get to episode 12 and 5 respectively, so it matches up with Claire leaving hells kitchen in DD episode 11 and arriving in Harlem in LC episode 5... then finish season 1 of luke cage and then the finale of daredevil season 2, since with the dates provided and the epilogue being Christmas Eve it only makes sense that theres a bit of a time gap between daredevil episodes 12 and 13 as well as episode 13 having to take place after luke cage season 1.
Feel free to not even bother with reading it or trying to process it. 😂😂
I think that sounds like a good way to watch them. As you mention, the key episodes are DD 11 and LC 5. As long as those are watched in the correct order, then the rest falls into place. So the way you have them broken up is great. Nice call!
I just don’t understand how it’s a confusing timeline for anyone. They technically could just fit anywhere as long as it’s before infinity war especially since it’s street level crime so most aren’t paying attention to all that stuff too
