Thanks for the creator David’s hard work, hope he will bring us more wonderful videos.
Exellent video, this was exactly what I was looking for! Fully understood everything after watching once. That 2000 PSI number kinda blew me away, no wonder people are afraid of those things!
140 Bar.... No thanks. I'm getting my wooden chair again.
you went out of your way to convert psi to bar?
sitting on a time bomb, sounds like regular day at work
Thanks buddy! Very good explanation.
thx, really helped me in repairing my chair
Glad it helped!
I would not use those.
@@Survivalguy?
AWESOME. Thank you for making this video!!
Hope it help!
Thanks! I've been curious how it works.
Hi, Thomas. Glad it help!
I'm just here to know if there is a lower chance for my chair to explode if it's in low or high setting because I don't know if my chair contains oxygen or nitrogen.
Lmfao, same
In the high setting there's lower internal pressure, however there's more room for wiggle which plays a major role in wearing the gas lift thus increasing the likelihood of a fragmented upward explosion.
Both options are too dangerous.
Id pay 200€ for a good ergonomic chair rather than letting the manufacturer decide my fate.
I had to modify my chair and no longer have the lever to raise/lower. I want the chair in the absolute lowest position but it keeps rising over time. Is there a safe way to disable the cylinder?
I’m wondering too
Can you confirm the safety of these cylinders as there have been quite a few scare videos describing exploding chairs! It's not clear to me if any aspect of the technology is dangerous when a person's weight is on the chair. Thanks!
can you link them ? I've just seen one

Title: How Sitting on a Gaming Chair Tragically Killed a 14-Year-Old
As a guy sitting on an office chair right now, I was traumatised from this as well
I assume this would only apply to very cheaply manufactured chairs. Most chairs you buy through official supplier might have to adhere to safety standards. Also, abusing the chair by bouncing on it very heavily might cause issues.
What if we just weld it?
I don't want it to go down at all.
Herman miller chairs or other high end office chairs started using those in the 1960s and cheap office chairs started using them in the 1990s.

Thanks!
so in simple terms and I mean simple because im pretty stupid, when the chair is extended to the highest it can go, the gas has already been released or is it the opposite?
and if it were to explode, the rod thats already been fully extended will travel a shorter distance?
The gas is never released. When you pull the lever which opens a valve, some of it moves between the two chambers.
Hlw sir I'm from India I want to buy this product what is your minimum quantity and price

My chair hydraulic was a bit sticky today so I thought maybe it needs oiling. 2am thought I wondered how it worked. Yeah after hearing it's high pressure gas in there I thing it's better not to message with it 😂
im too high man
"Nitrogen that is pressurized to about 2000 PSI"
black market chairs: "did someone say an explosive mixture of oxygen and lubricating oil?"
Why do they use compressed gas why dont they use screws or something 😭
There are cases of exploding chairs
@@PeterSvP isnt that usually cause by lack of safety precautions depending on the manufacturer on the reason why its faulty?
@@BeansLive567 it's usually chinese products with bad production
@@PeterSvP ohh okay cause like I've read about those incidents where it happened in china, specifically about the 15 year old Chinese boy who unfortunately died from those chairs
Great video! Was wondering how this worked. I assumed it would include a spring
Can we just effing use worm gears instead of leaky air cylinders?
WHY DOES MY CHAIR KEEP RISING BY ITSELF? EXPLAIN LIKE I'M FIVE.
What do you do when your piston is coming out from the bottom when you go to raise the chair? It holds pressure, the piston rod is coming out from the bottom instead of taking me up with it. I’ve never seen a chair do this before..
Try to change another gas cylinder.
It can explode like a bomb or not
look it up why don't you
Can such piston be checked in luggage on airplane?
Sorry, I don't know if it will or not in your country.
i am assembling a chair and accidentally compressed the press completely. due to the former, it seems that i cannot complete the assembly by placing the chair top onto it. how can i approach a solution?
I think springs would more sturdy or some other mechanical arrangement with lead screw kind of thing
Thanks for the explanation. Really greatfull 🌝
my chair goes up when I get off and is too high.
Ahhh, that's how they can hold weight.
Sorry guys my chair had a gas leak
