I remember being an exchange student in the US a couple years ago and loving the library in the school. I had never had access to so many novels and books, but surprisingly enough the most popular book saga, Harry Potter, was missing. Even I had it in the little school library in my home country, I would like to add that my school is Catholic run by nuns and founded by a saint over 100 years ago. So I asked one of the students about it, and she deadpan said to me "yeah the school board banned it because they think it's promoting witch craft" . I laughed so hard, I thought it was the best answer ever, and then I realized she was being serious. America you never stop surprising me.

Days before the tweet, there was a 5% to 10% chance that tropical-storm-force winds of more than or equal to 39 miles per hour could affect the Southeast corner of Alabama. The map showed that coasts of Georgia and the Carolinas had a higher likelihood of sustaining tropical-storm-force winds, closer to 50% to 70%.
On Sunday, 1st September when Trump sent out his tweet, the maps did not show Alabama getting hit. This is the simple fact.
“Someone” used a black sharpie. Trump holds up a DOCTORED image. It is against the law to put out an altered government forecast - Al Roker 5 Sept. 2019 "Just so everyone is clear. This forecast cone was from 5 days ago. Alabama was NEVER in the official cone from the @NHC_Atlantic," Fox News senior meteorologist Janice Dean tweeted Wednesday. "The sharpie-bubble was drawn by someone else. This map is inaccurate, misleading and fake," Janice Dean, senior meteorologist for Fox News Channel, tweeted afterward.
The only time that computer models shown a few path lines towards Alabama was some 90 hours before Trump tweeted about Alabama. a National Hurricane Center graphic showing the odds of an Alabama strike dropping significantly by Sunday, from 10% to 5%. As the days passed by, all the computer models’ paths were moving further to the east AWAY FROM ALABAMA. Some 90- hours before the tweet…that means Trump who pretended that he was being updated every hour WAS CLOSE TO FOUR DAYS BEHIND the forecast….Trump was too damn busy playing golf for four days he didn’t realize the forecasts had changed. The POTUS was delinquent in his duties…he wasn’t paying attention…he couldn’t give a damn.
SIX DAYS LATER, Trump tweeted that “this nonsense has never happened to another president.” Well, duh, no other president took a sharpie and altered an official weather map.
Again, on Sunday, 1st September when Trump sent out his tweet, the maps did not show Alabama getting hit. This is the simple fact. Maybe Trump got old information so why did not Trump say that he had old inform and maybe he could have said he was over concerned.

Now Trump has his head of NOAA (a department Trump controls) come out to SORT OF (NOT COMPLETELY because they did not address the probability percent and also time between original prediction and Trump’s tweet) defend Trump and pit NOAA against the National Weather Service and also against Birmingham’s NOAA! Think about this NO ONE at NOAA signed the statement…no one put their name on the statement. That should confirm that NOAA was forced to put this statement together and public. UNBELIEVABLE.
The National Weather Service Employees Organization pushed back against NOAA's refutation, with the organization's president calling the NOAA tweet "utterly disgusting and disingenuous."
The fact no one tried to stop Trump to tell him that he will look like a fool. As if no one would fact-check? Did they not look at their own reputations? They will always be associated with a BLATANT liar. When I was in school, my local pastor tried banning the books in our local PUBLIC schools. This was back in the early 2000’s. It was a big deal in our town. Our bookstore responded by making all HP books (there was probably only 2, MAYBE 3 at this point) 25% off, and had Harry Potter book club and reading circles every Saturday morning and Tuesday and Thursday night.
