I remember Panoz trying to take the fight to Audi at Le Mans and before that McLaren & Mercedes with the GTR1. Great cars! I actually saw an Esperante GT2 at Oulton Park in about 2007, that was also a great car.
Lot's of people mentioning the game Midtown Madness. My entire childhood was built on that game. I am smiling now. Played it for hours and hours and obviously the Panoz GTR-1 was my favorite from it. It's so great to see they are still on business as I actually thought they went defunct. Awesome video Kyle!
Panoz used to be the shit back in the day and they have such a rich history, nowadays they're not doing anything special or mass producing cars. Good to know they're still in business, thanks Kyle :)
Very Nice of John Lebert and Panoz to grant you access to basically everything they had, great looking cars and a great video thank you for sharing the experience.
My dad used to work as a fabricator back in the early 90s there when they were developing the roadster. The steering wheel on my Miata actually came off one of the roadsters!
This video taught me so much about Panoz! Didn’t realize they were so close to my hometown in Charlotte! Gotta pay this place a visit!!!!! Thanks for this awesome video Kyle!!!!
I was very surprised about him mentioning the Esperanto language, because it was actually the first thing that came to my mind about the Esperante name! Though I don't speak it, I've heard about it a few times before, and it seems quite interesting. As for the cars...amazing story, models, the engineering...everything!
+VoonDocker Good ol' Panoz roadster zooming by across the install menu, and of course... Racing it! I remember going online in the MSN Internet gaming zone to multi player. If you had moded the game with ramps, maps, and other cars/stuff(This was a few years before even GTA III mods became a thing). That mod would transfer online, and to the other players it would be like wtf. Truly a cool car company when it comes to real life. I didn't know how bespoke it was. The magnetic roof??? I dig a lot because it's slide on/off. I'm glad to see them in business, and if I was wealthy enough I wouldn't mind investing in them in a larger scale. I'm sure that Panoz Spyder is a beast with the 560 horses, and makes me wonder how they modified it for their purposes.
Gran Turismo 3 got me woke up on that Esperante GTR-1. Sounded like a TVR Speed 12 in-game, but the aggression made you want to full speed it in an unholy way
These guys are straight pimps, beautiful cars, insane designs, tastefuly made BY HAND 💯 percent. I got a chance to drive an Esperante for four hundred feet, IT WAS MAGICAL!!!!!!!👍👍👍💯💯💥🏁🏁
It's pretty cool to see this thing in a real life video outside of Forza and Gran-Trismo.. After hearing this thing I would get one of these over a 2015 Chevrolet Corvette z06..
Yeah, I do quite like the look of the De Tomaso/Qvale Mangusta (along with every other De Tomaso). No idea why they changed the name from De Tomaso the Qvale, though.
I live off of 211 and I definitely saw you guys when you were out and about with the color shift Esperante. I didn't want to be a creeper and chase you guys around.
I first learn of Panoz by playing Test Drive 6 the video game. I respect them but I think they have been hiding in the rafters for far too long and just need to unveil a one-time stunner. At least again.
Lol the video has been up for 4 minutes and it's a 30 minute video, but people still say great video XD I mean it's probably a good video, but still that's some fan dedication.
Panoz is an interesting brand. I'd much rather own a Spyker. Even though they aren't an American brand, they fall in to that unique, non-mass produced category.
...except it's not in any way shape or form a kit car - they're a 100% legitimate manufacturer, who's cars pass safety & emissions standards, and are built to the same level or better quality as any car from any other manufacturer
No, Ferrari and Mercedes use mostly their own designed parts, from door handles to the engine, to the little switches you twist to turn on the headlights. I watched this video 6 months ago and don't have time to rewatch it all, so I don't remember clearly, but I do remember him saying that not only did much of the cars powertrain get borrowed from other cars (Wasn't Mustang one of the choices?), but looking for myself I could see some switches and handles and such that came straight from other already regularly produced or previously produced vehicles. Mercedes and Ferrari keep this sort of thing to a minimum. And other car manufacturers usually only borrow powertrains from other vehicles within the brand to cut cost and maybe a chassis. Not too often do you see so many separate companies that normally have nothing to do with each other married into one car. Don't get me wrong, love the car, and the brand, but it's really just a professionally engineered kit car.
Kyle, why is everyone making videos about Panoz all of a sudden? Had to edit to add that this is in no way a complaint, the more the merrier. I just see a lot of Panoz related media lately after Leno brought out his Panoz video, and then thatdudeinblue put one out after you did.
I really love driving my boss Roadster it had a SVT Vortex supercharger very short gears and it looks like nothing you ever seen on the road, the only thing I didn't like about it was it had no turning Ratio to make a u turn you had to drive around the block and make your way back to that direction, but hey just get on the freeway get to the fast lane and propelled it forward it only comes with no top it looks like a fiberglass Roadster.
Aha, never knew the GT was an collector car in the States. I know here in the Netherlands they are worth a good ammount of money, got 2 myself in restored contidion. Nice to see that some of the GT's are saved in the States! :)
I remember Panoz trying to take the fight to Audi at Le Mans and before that McLaren & Mercedes with the GTR1. Great cars! I actually saw an Esperante GT2 at Oulton Park in about 2007, that was also a great car.
Panoz is a very unique company. Always loved their cars! Very different but nice!
For me, the Esperante GTR-1 resonated the most with Gran Turismo 3. This car and the Tommy Kaira ZZ-II were my childhood heroes! :)
Panoz reminds me of TVR automobiles.
Yeah, they're like TVR. It's just that their cars don't try to murder the driver. They seem to have more financial success than TVR, however.
This is one amazing company, I met them at the dubai autoshow and it was like meeting my heroes!
Panoz used to be the shit back in the day and they have such a rich history, nowadays they're not doing anything special or mass producing cars. Good to know they're still in business, thanks Kyle :)
Sadly, they are not in business anymore. The went bankrupt a little over a year ago.
Gorgeous cars, had no idea they were American. Actually one of my favorite cars in Gran Turismo 3.. Memories!
Remember Ponaz from Midtown Madness II a looooooong time ago :)
I was talking about that in the video :D blast from the past!!
Thats what you get from commenting on a video before watching it :)
Hahaha :P Man, I need to find a copy of that game and get some nostalgia going!
+Saabkyle04 you should start a gaming channel
Very Nice of John Lebert and Panoz to grant you access to basically everything they had, great looking cars and a great video thank you for sharing the experience.
My dad used to work as a fabricator back in the early 90s there when they were developing the roadster. The steering wheel on my Miata actually came off one of the roadsters!
The Esperante is as unmistakable as the Callaway C12. Two very distinct and beautiful cars.
Wow, I didn't know Panoz was still a thing. Good to know they're still around!
This video taught me so much about Panoz! Didn’t realize they were so close to my hometown in Charlotte! Gotta pay this place a visit!!!!! Thanks for this awesome video Kyle!!!!

Nostalgic brand, know Panoz first in Gran Turismo 3 or 4
That's where I know the logo/name from
+VoonDocker Good ol' Panoz roadster zooming by across the install menu, and of course... Racing it! I remember going online in the MSN Internet gaming zone to multi player. Good thing I live right near them and Road Atlanta. Always been proud to have them here.
Gran Turismo 3 got me woke up on that Esperante GTR-1. Sounded like a TVR Speed 12 in-game, but the aggression made you want to full speed it in an unholy way
Great video Kyle! Thanks for sharing.
Love seeing these smaller builder achieve success. I'm going to give these a closer look.
These guys are straight pimps, beautiful cars, insane designs, tastefuly made BY HAND 💯 percent. I got a chance to drive an Esperante for four hundred feet, IT WAS MAGICAL!!!!!!!👍👍👍💯💯💥🏁🏁
I actually have a panoz dealer near me. It's pretty cool to see them because they're so unique.
It's pretty cool to see this thing in a real life video outside of Forza and Gran-Trismo.. After hearing this thing I would get one of these over a 2015 Chevrolet Corvette z06..
Awesome to see a review of some of the cars I've had the great opportunity to make parts for.
That supercharger whine is just sensational
Pan what? I've never heard of them! It seems cool though. The cars look a little strange, but I guess you could grow to like them.
Panoz pioneered the American LeMans Series. All the top dogs would come to prove there worth on ALMS tracks.
Don Panoz also owns the track Road Atlanta... which I'm sure you know of.
The Qvale Mangusta was also quite special. Wish they were still in business. I remember that review.
Yeah, I do quite like the look of the De Tomaso/Qvale Mangusta (along with every other De Tomaso). No idea why they changed the name from De Tomaso the Qvale, though.
Like a lot of people, the only reason i know of panoz is because of a video game. Mine was the first Forza Motorsport
same with me
I know it from a 1998 PC game called Midtown Madness
Le Mans 24 Hours on PS2 circa 2001
Actual Le Mans...
It was in Gran Turismo 3 and I played that a lot in my childhood. The Esperante GTR-1 is such a cool car!
Midtown Madnessssssssssssssss!!!!!!!!!!!!!
NOSTALGIA!
I used to play that on Windows 98!! That's where I know the esperante from
I live off of 211 and I definitely saw you guys when you were out and about with the color shift Esperante. I didn't want to be a creeper and chase you guys around.
Your cameraman (Chris?) does a fantastic job. Great job as usual, thanks saabkyle!
Never knew they existed. Thanks for bringing them to me!!
The Esparante GTR-1 was a beast.
Midtown Madness anyone??
good times!
Only reason I clicked on the video. Good time...
Yeah dude I seriously want to cry😭 Time flies so fast!
+#AJ • Of course!!! Racing it around the streets of San Francisco (remember the commentator). Great memories playing it online/offline.
Playing it online in the MSN internet zone with Ramps & other mods!!! This was years before GTA III modding was even a thing! Good times :)
First time I experienced the Esperante GTR-1, it was in an unassuming PS1 game published by EA. I think they call it 'Sports Car GT'
Wow! I haven't heard before of Panoz. Maybe cause I'm not living in the USA.
great video and very good interview
Love Panoz! This are not the best looking Cars but they're great on their own way! Love this video... Thanks Kyle!!
a really good episode. .. loooved it
Never heard of Panoz, beautiful vehicles
This is the best small car company in the US.
The Esperante midsection is basically an FD Rx7
haha Jay Leno in the background saw that episode too.
almost at 1 mill subs bro keep it up
Lucky man you are Kyle :) it's been my dream to tour Panoz
I love the Panoz Esperante GTR-1
Panoz dealership is 6 minutes from my home , did you tell us you were going? Now I am sad I did not see you.
i know panoz when i playing gran turismo back in early 2000 .. Panoz Esperante GTR-1 ...
just lived my dream
Kyle what kind of brand do you use for a camera GREAT VIDEOS
I live just down the road from there.
Me too! And race my Motorcycle at Road Atlanta. :-)
Great video, i remember Panoz from Gran Turismo !
Hey I know Don! Great company.
At 13:02 it looks like panoz wrote esperante in hot glue HAHA
It's not hot glue... It's a decal, used on a prototype car...
COOL Visiting the Home of Panoz! Full Factory Tour & My First Drive in an Esperante!
the paintjob is inspired from the british tvr
I first learn of Panoz by playing Test Drive 6 the video game. I respect them but I think they have been hiding in the rafters for far too long and just need to unveil a one-time stunner. At least again.
I think I saw an original Opel GT in the back of the factory area?!
Panoz, America's TVR.
the way they build their cars seems dangerous but it's a cool concept
Company reminds me of TVR in styling.
love Panoz!
Es hat mir gefallen!
Lol the video has been up for 4 minutes and it's a 30 minute video, but people still say great video XD I mean it's probably a good video, but still that's some fan dedication.
can they do a clutchless manual with a regular shifter instead of paddles?
love panos!!
Haha a magnetic soft top to make it that much easier to break into the car
Very cool!!
Saabkyle04 can you do a 2005-2008 mazda 6 tour. or a mazda 3 (not hatchback)
very best !! 🙌👍👍
Haha! Midtown Madness ftw!
I live 5 mins from there!!!!!
Panoz is an interesting brand. I'd much rather own a Spyker. Even though they aren't an American brand, they fall in to that unique, non-mass produced category.
Anyone else on here only ever heard of Panoz through Gran Tursimo?
looks like a combo of porsche and koenigsegg
It's basically a company that builds the ultimate kit car professionally.
...except it's not in any way shape or form a kit car - they're a 100% legitimate manufacturer, who's cars pass safety & emissions standards, and are built to the same level or better quality as any car from any other manufacturer
Exactly what I said, professionally built ultimate kit car.
Uh, yea... professionally built kit car, just like Ferrari and Mercedes...
Can you get one of these with the voodoo motor.
do more factory tours
I like Panoz
I would want a panoz with a viper engine making 800 hp
Great video though!! Saabkyle
Can you reviev a volvo v70 r from 2005?
I love those gigantic nose intakes!
Never heard of this in my life
When are you announcing your new car kyle?
1989? Now that's a 90s child. I was born in 2000, so I'm not one at all, but I hate it when people in my grade born in 1999 think their 90s kids.
saabkyle04 can you review the aston martin db11
Kyle, why is everyone making videos about Panoz all of a sudden?
Had to edit to add that this is in no way a complaint, the more the merrier. I just see a lot of Panoz related media lately after Leno brought out his Panoz video, and then thatdudeinblue put one out after you did.
Hey Kyle you Gonna do a review of one of these cars
Yes, he is
am I the only one that noticed That the door handles look like they came off a early 2000's GM sedan?
people commenting before watching the video lol. the video is 5 minutes old and some comments are 4.
Hey Kyle!!
Amesome car
I really love driving my boss Roadster it had a SVT Vortex supercharger very short gears and it looks like nothing you ever seen on the road, the only thing I didn't like about it was it had no turning Ratio to make a u turn you had to drive around the block and make your way back to that direction, but hey just get on the freeway get to the fast lane and propelled it forward it only comes with no top it looks like a fiberglass Roadster.
8:24 ohh yea
could be the 5.4 ford SC?
should've driven the esperante gtr-1
oh i live near there
I think that inside door handle is out of a Jaguar
best cars :)
What was the purpose of that Opel GT in the background at 21:48 ?
It's a collector car that belongs to one of our executives.
Aha, never knew the GT was an collector car in the States. I know here in the Netherlands they are worth a good ammount of money, got 2 myself in restored contidion. Nice to see that some of the GT's are saved in the States! :)
