I love that Maarva passed away off screen "just like that" as Achara kept saying, because that's just how most us will eventually go, just like that, quetly with no explosions or great heroic moments regardless of the size of our heart and spirit. It was the same as with Nemik's death which was basically just a simple misfortunate accident with him eventually dying on an operating table, as many people do. It makes the characters and the story feel real. Excellent writing. 👏
I think you guys kinda missed the point on the Luthen x Saw scene. Luthen didn't pawn off the decision; he had to decide whether to sacrifice Saw, and decided not to sacrifice Saw. Which meant he had to tell Saw about the set-up - at which point, the decision was in Saw's hands (tell Kreeger or keep silent). Luthen made his decision, but he couldn't control Saw, and he knew it. So he told Saw the choice was his.
yeah, saw decided to join kreeger at the last minute, so luthen had another shitty choice to make, like you say. i actually like luthen a lot more after this scene - he isn't trying to put lipstick on a pig like saw is, calling it "war" or "for the greater good". luthen does not try to tell himself that it's the right thing to do morally, he is fully aware that it is a very bad thing he does.
What I see a lot of people missing from that scene too was how beautiful his "trap" is, he goes in to see Saw knowing that he is going to have to reveal he has agents inside the ISB and he needs to be prepared for Saw's reaction, you can see he keeps trying to go back to Kreger instead of the agent part, but he's prepared, he knows Saw so he makes him freak out, exactly the way the ISB will, he literally puts Saw into the choice he has to make and its laid out before he even arrives.
He also had to give Saw the illusion of a say or control. The decision was already made, Luthen just had to say the right words in the right order to lead Saw into making the decision Luthen wants him to. Normally Saw is ok with sacrificing people for the greater good, but this early in the Rebellion Saw also values every fighter they can get. Convincing Saw that the decision was his saves Luthen from having to confront Saw later, when Saw would feel betrayed and do rash actions.

Very cool that he used the ships tractor beam against them, the weapons were just solid projectiles Luthen baited the imperial ship captain into increasing the tractor beam strength which just propelled the projectiles into the tractor beam dish.
Cool catch, it’s amazing how even the action scenes in Andor have so much depth. How there are people who still don’t like this show is beyond me. Disney deserves all the criticism for how they handled Star Wars, but the quality of this show supersedes all that.

late to the discussion but Luthen was also manipulating Saw. When he learns about the trap from his mole, he mentions that Krieger and his 50 men will die. I'm thinking that number is accurate since the ISB will probably confirm that number once the trap is sprung. But with Saw, he says "30 + Krieger". He's downplaying the numbers so that Saw won't think the loss is too big. He was definitely emotionally manipulating Saw

I think Star Wars tapped into something primal when it comes to B2. We as humans love pets, we love inanimate objects and technology. We are materialistic. Combine the lot and you've got something magical to utilize, anthropomorphizing a box on wheels with a cute stutter. Its hard for some people to really wrap their heads around why a fake robot can evoke so much emotion yet they can do it masterfully.
it is much more than that. in my mixed asian heritage, there is a saying about the compassion and love for "intelligence that cannot speak"... the "consciousness that is innocent and helpless" that's the primary high emotion we are feeling for most droids in SW, not anything primal or materialistic. imo.

I am 99% convinced that Luthen is a former/fallen Jedi; a Jedi that believes in the cause wholeheartedly but is willing to do shady things to see it through. The clues are: "I talk to ghosts", the rod-like thing he brought with him when he went to see Saw Gerrera, his constant composure no matter the circumstances (no fear), the artifacts in his "shop". That scene with the Arrestor ship was one of the most bad-ass Star Wars space battles of all time. And you know that a show is in good hands when they can make you cry for the feelings of a robot!

Another brilliant episode of Andor and of course you guys knock it out of the park. I love the way the droid B is portrayed and interacted with, like a semi-sentient pet. Wicked cool if you ask me. Such an emotional episode. Obviously with Maarvas death (which I still have a hunch might be a fake out) and B2s reaction. But the ending with Andor finding out about his mother's death, that was rough. He's hurting and he knows he has nothing left. NOTHING.

I'm convinced now that Luthen is a Jedi, perhaps a grey one. The hallway shot from last episode with his robes, his calmness in every tense situation, and those side lasers looked and behaved like kyber crystal powered light sabers. What is his sacrifice? EVERYTHING! Including the Jedi code, perhaps?
As for the laser beams they to me are just regular laser beams powered by kyber crystals, like with the Death star's but infinetely less powerful. It is established Luthen can get hold of kyber crystals so it's not implausible for him to make such mods to his ship
This show constantly has these visuals of big bright lights in the horizon, usually from the sun. And if you know Rogue one, then you know lol. But it is this constant reminder of Cassian's endgoal, always in the distance. Its both hopeful and foreboding. But this episode at the end, when he hears the news of his mother, there is only gray clouds and you can barely see the light. This fucking show is a masterclass.
I think Luthen DID want to make the decision but once Saw wanted to take part it had to become Saw's. Because only Saw could decide whether he'd tell Kreiger and Luthen couldn't risk Saw by letting him go. So once Saw started asking questions it had to come down to whether Saw would see it like he does. Unfortunate side effect being that it'd played more into Saw's paranoia that will ultimately drive him from the Rebel Alliance and kill him.
I wouldn't be surprised if Mon Mothma daughter is just actually acting out her position, as the status quo is just that! An act! She is just like her mom, using her status as cover, and really secretly supports the rebellion And even Mon Mothma isn't in on it.
They looked like light sabers on Lutheran ship and they were red. And it looks like he has the face features of Count Dooku, I wonder if that's Count Dookus son, just an opinion. Best drama Star Wars series ever. 👍

If i were Resistance in Ferrix I would consider doing a fake funeral, getting Maarva out (Doctor visit, her death, etc. all planned and faked), then hit the Imperials there (bomb or sg.), and also i would hit the Hotel (new Imperial HQ) at the same time while most troops out and free Bix. But this is my naive side, whishing for a glorious unreal super clever plan instead of facing the dark reality of Maarva simply died. I'm suprised some missed Bix is already broke, told them everything she knows. She is a wreck. Without the Dr. she might try to lie about Kreegyr. If they believe he is Axis only one Imperial might realise the truth: Syril who heard him. Cassian didn't told anything to his partner, he won't risk his life too, but he will try to sneak to the funeral. Ferrix will be the focus of the last episode, I'm sure. Syril Karn will show up too, stole the money for the journey. I wonder if Axis (Luthen) ship is damaged at all, if so he might need to land somewhere for parts... like at Ferrix? Or just receive the news of the funeral and decide to take the risk, go there and tie up the loose end, Cassian. If he shows up it's important Syril Karn heard his voice. Knowing him it would make more sense for him to not show up, let Cinta do her thing. So if not there, then he might go to the auction/buying some ancient artifact piece??? Is it just a business thing, or something more? Like a key piece for a special datacron? Let's not forget Cinta is also at Ferrix, with order to kill Cassian. Vel might show up too, if for nothing else then for Cinta. Also the Mon Mothma stroy arc? She seemed desperate, not sure if she would go for the marriage deal, even so how would she explain it to her daughter and husband, why needed? In this reaction Achara mentioned Luthen doesn't want to make a decision, choice. I disagree. He already made the choice, were allowing the slaughter. What he didn't know Saw changes his mind and want to join in the raid. Now Luthen's hands are tied, he can't let Saw join in for 1. even more fighters, resources to loose 2. Saw knows him, his capture would directly danger Luthen. So he have no option but to tell Saw the truth, but he can't order Saw what to do. He can't control him. Now It's up to Saw what the wants to do. Warn Kreegyr and burn their source or let the massacre happen. Saw will have to sleep with this decision. Again Luthen wouldn't put this burden to Saw, his hands are tied. Love the show, curious about the finale. As bastrad they are (I love them) they might leave a lot of things open: a female shows up in the background who might be Cassian's sister, Mon's daughter meets a boy and they walk together in a garden, a strange artifact shining in Luthen's hands, Syril following someone, etc. etc. without a conclusion in this season.

The Rebels are divided, despite their successes, each cell wants to do their own thing on their own time, and they don't have time. Luthen told Mon Mothma at the start that the Empire is growing stronger, he's trying to rally everyone to come together while they can, before it's too late--he's needs every hero he can get. He wanted Cassian dead, but Cassian has had a change of heart. He's about that life now. We saw Luthen with a Kyber Crystal when he dropped Cassian off with Vel. We see the hilt of a weapon in this episode with Tubes (Saw's lieutenant), and we see his bad as piloting skills and Jedi-like reflexes--Luthen's a Jedi. He's subtly using the Force, enough to do what he needs to, but not enough to get caught either. He's a bold one, staying on Coruscant, hiding in plain sight. Makes you wonder if Vader or an Inquisitor finishes him off when he goes ='(
Feeling bad for the robot grieving is natural, very human. What is abnormal and disturbing is going two episodes in a row and somehow not grasping the concept of splitting up after a prison break. If you cannot pause, think for ten seconds and understand, perhaps watch any prison break film. Maybe try the Fugitive, and that was only two dudes, not 5,000. Good luck!
In terms of the money(mon mothma scene) I think its not about returning it to the account its the fact that it was moved and there needs to be a reason that it happened. Because then if she got it back you would need to explain that too as with the Aldhani heist they are looking to link large movements of money. That heist made it worst for her thus the desperate shit she has to do. This web of stuff is fascinating! The consequences of that action was far reaching.

Such an emotional episode. Obviously with Maarvas death (which I still have a hunch might be a fake out) and B2s reaction. But the ending with Andor finding out about his mother's death, that was rough. He's hurting and he knows he has nothing left. NOTHING.

I've long said that you can judge a character in Star Wars by how they treat droids - this episode exemplifies that...
You guys...hopefully that's the right moniker, you may be too young or may not know of it but there's an old 1979 Disney film called The Black Hole...there's a robot in it called B.O.B...since the first time I saw the older version of B2EM0, he has, from what I remember ( it's been a while ) the same vibe as B.O.B....I too had the same feeling as Jaby but felt myself tearing up a little...!

I'm convinced now that Luthen is a Jedi, perhaps a grey one. The hallway shot from last episode with his robes, his calmness in every tense situation, and those side lasers looked and behaved like kyber crystal powered light sabers.
What is his sacrifice? EVERYTHING! Including the Jedi code, perhaps?
As for the laser beams they to me are just regular laser beams powered by kyber crystals, like with the Death star's but infinetely less powerful. It is established Luthen can get hold of kyber crystals so it's not implausible for him to make such mods to his ship

He is NOT a Jedi of any kind. He's just another ordinary Human rebel fighter and a rich one at that. So stop your silly fan theories.
This show constantly has these visuals of big bright lights in the horizon, usually from the sun. And if you know Rogue one, then you know lol. But it is this constant reminder of Cassian's endgoal, always in the distance. Its both hopeful and foreboding. But this episode at the end, when he hears the news of his mother, there is only gray clouds and you can barely see the light. This fucking show is a masterclass.
I think Luthen DID want to make the decision but once Saw wanted to take part it had to become Saw's. Because only Saw could decide whether he'd tell Kreiger and Luthen couldn't risk Saw by letting him go. So once Saw started asking questions it had to come down to whether Saw would see it like he does.
Unfortunate side effect being that it'd played more into Saw's paranoia that will ultimately drive him from the Rebel Alliance and kill him.
Luthen has the coolest ship in all of Star Wars

If i were Resistance in Ferrix I would consider doing a fake funeral, getting Maarva out (Doctor visit, her death, etc. all planned and faked), then hit the Imperials there (bomb or sg.), and also i would hit the Hotel (new Imperial HQ) at the same time while most troops out and free Bix.
But this is my naive side, whishing for a glorious unreal super clever plan instead of facing the dark reality of Maarva simply died.
I'm suprised some missed Bix is already broke, told them everything she knows. She is a wreck. Without the Dr. she might try to lie about Kreegyr. If they believe
he is Axis only one Imperial might realise the truth: Syril who heard him.
Cassian didn't told anything to his partner, he won't risk his life too, but he will try to sneak to the funeral. Ferrix will be the focus of the last episode, I'm sure.
Syril Karn will show up too, stole the money for the journey.
I wonder if Axis (Luthen) ship is damaged at all, if so he might need to land somewhere for parts... like at Ferrix? Or just receive the news of the funeral and decide to take
the risk, go there and tie up the loose end, Cassian. If he shows up it's important Syril Karn heard his voice. Knowing him it would make more sense for him to not show up,
let Cinta do her thing. So if not there, then he might go to the auction/buying some ancient artifact piece??? Is it just a business thing, or something more? Like a key piece for a special datacron?
Let's not forget Cinta is also at Ferrix, with order to kill Cassian. Vel might show up too, if for nothing else then for Cinta.
Also the Mon Mothma stroy arc? She seemed desperate, not sure if she would go for the marriage deal, even so how would she explain it to her daughter and husband, why needed?
In this reaction Achara mentioned Luthen doesn't want to make a decision, choice. I disagree. He already made the choice, were allowing the slaughter.
What he didn't know Saw changes his mind and want to join in the raid. Now Luthen's hands are tied, he can't let Saw join in for 1. even more fighters, resources to loose
2. Saw knows him, his capture would directly danger Luthen. So he have no option but to tell Saw the truth, but he can't order Saw what to do. He can't control him.
Now It's up to Saw what the wants to do.
Warn Kreegyr and burn their source or let the massacre happen. Saw will have to sleep with this decision. Again Luthen wouldn't put this burden to Saw, his hands are tied.
Love the show, curious about the finale.
As bastrad they are (I love them) they might leave a lot of things open: a female shows up in the background who might be Cassian's sister, Mon's daughter meets a boy and they walk together in a garden, a strange artifact shining in Luthen's hands, Syril following someone, etc. etc. without a conclusion in this season.

12:42 Agreed, but Luthen is also trying to form the Rebel Alliance. The Rebels are divided, despite their successes, each cell wants to do their own thing on their own time, and they don't have time. Luthen told Mon Mothma at the start that the Empire is growing stronger, he's trying to rally everyone to come together while they can, before it's too late--he's needs every hero he can get. He wanted Cassian dead, but Cassian has had a change of heart. He's about that life now.
We saw Luthen with a Kyber Crystal when he dropped Cassian off with Vel. We see the hilt of a weapon in this episode with Tubes (Saw's lieutenant), and we see his bad as piloting skills and Jedi-like reflexes--Luthen's a Jedi. He's subtly using the Force, enough to do what he needs to, but not enough to get caught either. He's a bold one, staying on Coruscant, hiding in plain sight. Makes you wonder if Vader or an Inquisitor finishes him off when he goes ='(

Feeling bad for the robot grieving is natural, very human. What is abnormal and disturbing is going two episodes in a row and somehow not grasping the concept of splitting up after a prison break. If you cannot pause, think for ten seconds and understand, perhaps watch any prison break film. Maybe try the Fugitive, and that was only two dudes, not 5,000. Good luck!

In terms of the money(mon mothma scene) I think its not about returning it to the account its the fact that it was moved and there needs to be a reason that it happened. Because then if she got it back you would need to explain that too as with the Aldhani heist they are looking to link large movements of money. That heist made it worst for her thus the desperate shit she has to do. This web of stuff is fascinating! The consequences of that action was far reaching.
