In the start where Andor and Melshi were hiding from the imperials searching for the prisoners, I was reminded of Frodo and Sam hiding from the Nazgul flying on its dragon.
Fun Fact: The ship at 11:56 is called “Cantwell-class Arrestor Cruiser”. Colin Cantwell, a concept artist who designed spacecraft for Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope, pitched the design to George Lucas for use in the movie (1977). Its original name was “Sith Carrier” and the dishes on its sides were intended to be used to destroy various ships. The idea was later adapted for the superlaser weapon of the Death Star. The ship also appears in the movie Solo: A Star Wars Story, but only in the deleted scenes.
can i just say i adore the funeral tradition on ferrix? you are still the part of the community even after you die. remind me of EU corellian funeral, where after cremation your ashes are being compressed into a diamond
I’m not crying your crying. I watch a long running series called Heartland and when the mom died, her horse was so depressed it wouldn’t eat. Poor B2EMO 😢
I'm convinced now that Luthen is a Jedi, perhaps a grey one. The hallway shot from last episode with his robes, his calmness in every tense situation, and those side lasers looked and behaved like kyber crystal powered light sabers. What is his sacrifice? EVERYTHING! Including the Jedi code, perhaps?
I'm feeling that, too. We've had several examples of Jedi who hid from the Empire and tried to keep a low profile. But each one goes back to being a Jedi eventually. Luthen may be the one example of a Jedi who doesn't.
Getting the same vibe. He has artifacts that should be outlawed in his shop. The Kyber crystal from earlier. His calmness and fighting ability in this episode. Plus what the item he was questioned about that he said "either drop it or give it back" I believe before he met with Saw again?
It would have been sad at anytime but I recently lost my own mam, so I hurt from beginning to end of the episode. It is such quality show I hope people are watching it.
Never thought I would want a ship like Luthen’s one but I do! I just need his piloting skills 🤣 Thanks Wendy and Dustin; you both ask some interesting questions! I wonder about the timeline…when was Andor’s call? Because it seemed to indicate that his mum was already in the brick? So that means he missed the funeral? Cannot wait to rewatch to check myself here…
I was surprised but logically I could expect something like that from the founder of Rebellion. He can't be a master spy without some badass skills. I don't know about the Gray Jedi thing but it's not impossible for him being force sensitive.
As painful as it was I loved how they forced Cassian's hand in this episode. He's free, he can go anywhere he wants, all he has to do is tie some loose ends. Then he gets the news his mom died, and it comes crashing down, but there's more: the other guy who escaped with Cassian reminds him that they're now on a mission, and Cassian has to put his grief aside for a moment because of that. It's Luthen, Mon Mothma, Val, Cinta, Kino, all coming back: the struggle comes first.
Almost all droids, even the simpler ones, have the capacity to develop "emotions" of a sort. That's why they periodically wipe droids' memories so they don't develop them. In official capacities, it's required by law in most cases, as are restraining bolts. In domestic scenarios, it's not obligatory in most cases, but failure to bolt droids, and regularly wipe their memories, is frowned upon. Droids are, after all, potentially quite powerful, and their services are intimately entangled with the organics they serve. Since they are still considered property under both Republic AND Imperial law, it's entirely sensible that they'd legally require any official droids to be bolted and regularly wiped to prevent mishaps. Especially in medical or military settings. Odds are that, Bee, like Artoo, has never once been wiped. Maarva was certainly eccentric enough to probably think wiping droids is somehow inappropriate and immoral.
That last scene with the sunset makes me think the last thing Cassian was thinking of at the end of Rogue One watching the sunset before dying was his mother. You would think that technology Luthen had with the lasers coming out both sides of the ship would've come in very handy for the rebels later. I wonder what the length of those lasers were and if anything else in that laser's path even miles away got destroyed as well. LOL, what if suddenly some stuff on that planet got destroyed and people on the planet thought another Death Star was destroying them?
@The Movie Couple, 14:00 Jedi reflexes, Wendy. Wouldn't you say? We saw his Kyber crystal on Aldani. His monologue to Lonnie had a lot of Jedi innuendo the things he had to give up in order to survive and the person he had to become to do it--the man has taken a page of Palpatine's book and is hiding among the Empire while pretending to be someone else. His walking stick looks like the hilt of a weapon waiting for a crystal to power it up. Luthen share's his dreams with ghosts...Jedi ghosts? Luthen was as calm as Anakin was when Anakin's pod racer was falling apart. Luthen has the urge to help, but has to suppress or doom them all. Kleya is probably another Jedi too, probably Luthen's padawan.
The episode didn’t captivate me as much as the prison arc but it did pack an emotional punch. When they carried out Maarva’s body and when Cassian learned about her death I definitely teared up. And seeing Mon trying not to break down and Bix absolutely broken down? Oof.
I reckon Luthen is an ex Temple Guard. 1. The Temple Guard mask in his shop 2. The potential lightsaber he carries. I think it is a double-bladed one like the temple guard carry. 3. Crazy ship combat skills. 4. Jedi mind tricks EVERYONE!
There was a moment after he blasted a tiefighter where he rotated his ship sideways to avoid *debris* as soon as his shot landed. That should be impossible for a regular dude (unless there was some droid-assisted manoeuvring). I may be overthinking it, but everything in this show so far has been very intentional and thought-out.
the ending scene reminded you of the final moments of Cassian on Scarif in Rogue One, right? Well guess what, it was for Cassian in universe too. In the episode, the message he wanted to get through was that Maarva "would be proud" of him In Rogue One, watching the nuclear sunset, the only thing Cassian tells Jyn is that her "father would be proud" of her. That moment reminded him of when he learned his mother's death and how he was never able to tell his mom that he was doing things for the greater good and not just hiding on a rock on the border, and that Jyn would want to hear things like this in this particular moment. There is parallels everywhere in this show
Luthen has a secret for sure he's way to good under pressure, strong episode right here i was getting emotional for the cost of all thats taking place I enjoyed it will we get a complete rebel union in the finale?
That was his walking stick/spear that we got to see already in episode 3 Reckoning. I guess it could be a lightsaber too but that would be weird since we saw it extended already.
Padme's father is already established in a deleted scene from the prequels. Technically it's not canon since it was removed from the final cut, but there's really no reason to mess with it. I think Luthen is someone else entirely.
I'm putting my money on Luthen being Jedi, especially with the crystals and tech on his ship. I'll also say, i think Kleya from his shop is his padawan.
If i were Resistance in Ferrix I would consider doing a fake funeral, getting Maarva out (Doctor visit, her death, etc. all planned and faked), then hit the Imperials there (bomb or sg.), and also i would hit the Hotel (new Imperial HQ) at the same time while most troops out and free Bix. But this is my naive side, whishing for a glorious unreal super clever plan instead of facing the dark reality of Maarva simply died. Cassian didn't told anything to his partner, he won't risk his life too, but he will try to sneak to the funeral. Ferrix will be the focus of the last episode, I'm sure. Syril Karn will show up too, stole the money for the journey. I wonder if Axis (Luthen) ship is damaged at all, if so he might need to land somewhere for parts... like at Ferrix? Or just receive the news of the funeral and decide to take the risk, go there and tie up the loose end, Cassian. If he shows up it's important Syril Karn heard his voice. Knowing him it would make more sense for him to not show up, let Cinta do her thing. So if not there, then he might go to the auction/buying some ancient artifact piece??? Is it just a business thing, or something more? Like a key piece for a special datacron? Let's not forget Cinta is also at Ferrix, with order to kill Cassian. Vel might show up too, if for nothing else then for Cinta. Also the Mon Mothma stroy arc? She seemed desperate, not sure if she would go for the marriage deal, even so how would she explain it to her daughter and husband, why needed? Love the show, curious about the finale. As bastrad they are (I love them) they might leave a lot of things open: a female shows up in the background who might be Cassian's sister, Mon's daughter meets a boy and they walk together in a garden, a strange artifact shining in Luthen's hands, Syril following someone, etc. etc. without a conclusion in this season. It would be phenomenal if Saw would show up to save Kreegyr, Deedra be there, full banzai.
There was a quad-jumper on Jakku in Force Awakens. I want a series about Luthan from when he made his calculation and what all he did that led him here. And done in the format of this series.
"I don't want to be alone, I want mama-maarva" 😭
In the start where Andor and Melshi were hiding from the imperials searching for the prisoners, I was reminded of Frodo and Sam hiding from the Nazgul flying on its dragon.

I will do my best👍
This is the first time I have ever cried for a droid! I just want to put B2EMO on my lap like a sad puppy and say I’ll take care of you.
Don't think your lap can handle the weight 🤪😂
you didn't cry for k2so?
The acting is on another level. This is like a Star Wars version of The Wire.
can i just say i adore the funeral tradition on ferrix? you are still the part of the community even after you die. remind me of EU corellian funeral, where after cremation your ashes are being compressed into a diamond
no, becuase there are no screws or bricks in star wars apparently,.
Luthen is a badass! His ship is like a James Bond motor
I’m not crying your crying. I watch a long running series called Heartland and when the mom died, her horse was so depressed it wouldn’t eat. Poor B2EMO 😢
😂 Luthen is the Star Wars Nick Fury for sure. But seriously he's a baaaaad man, want to know who the hell that man was for sure!
I’ve been waiting on this reaction from the best couple reactors on RUclips.

What is his sacrifice? EVERYTHING! Including the Jedi code, perhaps?
Including his connection to the force, perhaps? more likely he WAS a Jedi.
I'm feeling that, too. We've had several examples of Jedi who hid from the Empire and tried to keep a low profile. But each one goes back to being a Jedi eventually. Luthen may be the one example of a Jedi who doesn't.

"I share my dreams with ghosts".
It would have been sad at anytime but I recently lost my own mam, so I hurt from beginning to end of the episode. It is such quality show I hope people are watching it.
personally i dont care about the speed of the episode, this show is awesome.

@Doremi Fasolatido 🤨Are you like ... really really old and from ... far far away?😲
i just love the back and forth between you both as you watch and enjoy the strategy of this scene!!!

Marva was a past president of the Daughters of Ferrix.

Wow! So true.
Hi guys Luthen is bad ass that ship was originally called the Sith Cruiser my daughter has interesting theory on what Luthen used to be
Luthen has the Star Wars equivalent of a James Bond car, because of course he does.
Trust Star Wars to make me care and cry over a robot. I loved how they treated the droid like a family member.
first reaction im seeing, nice job on being quick
I think Bix knows if she answers "Yes", the empire will think they found Axis and they won't need to keep her alive anymore!
Luthen has a secret for sure he's way to good under pressure, strong episode right here i was getting emotional for the cost of all thats taking place I enjoyed it will we get a complete rebel union in the finale?
Every galaxy, no matter how old or far away needs a James Bond ... and here his name is Rael ... Luthen Rael!
Dang Luthen and his ship are too OP lol. Where was he during the Battle of Yavin? 😂
Probably dead already.
Since the whole ISB is now looking for "Axis", and we hear nothing from him in any other SW story ....
My credits are on dead.
After seeing this episode, I definitely want a Luthen series. I wanna know his origins, his backstory, and everything.
By the way @TheMovieCouple I saw that Brix is signed on for season 2 as well .
I think Luthen is a Jedi Sentinel. His store is a perfect cover.
He may have been a Sentinel, but if he ever was a Jedi, he must've slashed his connection to the force. Definitely not a Jedi now.
@@StefanScripca Agreed.
Ots actually the WORST cover. You watch too many cartoons
That Imperial Captain's job expired in the space of five minutes.
13:45 - Even Star Wars have Stark Tech now.
4:02 Easter egg: Is that the same Quad Jumper Finn and Rey were going to use in Force Awakens? 😉
Poor “B”, I feel so sorry for him.
Luthen is an ex-jedi, calling it now. He even had a lightsaber on him when Saw's men were searching him.
An ex Jedi hanging around in the capital planet in the rebels just seems nuts, but I do agree.
I would bet more for an ex-ISB
@@chrissmh473 Yea he's got superior spytech and military grade equipment packed into that luxury ship. He's no jedi.

Great episode! But Luthen said last episode that 50 of Kreegyrs men would die, This episode they said 30. 😃😅
Hair looks great Wendy, I just watch these last two episodes... that was heavy..but good
I'm putting my money on Luthen being Jedi, especially with the crystals and tech on his ship. I'll also say, i think Kleya from his shop is his padawan.
Today's 'Star Wars Lesson': Don't fuck with Luthen!
I always wanted to know how R2 felt when Anakin fell and when Padme died but I know now
😭
I'm going to lose it if B2EMO has Maarva's last words for Cassian recorded
B2EMO is an absolute standout. But I can't help feeling he becomes K2-SO somehow!! 🤔
Can I share your video as a reaction video on my channel? ☺☺
