You could rather than think of pure politics, is to think of different religious sects which influences the politics and that could also spill between north and south. You could also look for differences between urban folk and rural folk, asset oweners and non asset owners. Each can lead to in country factional splits. Have fun and a great weekend
Brigade Models not only make some fantastic looking GEV 6mm vehicles, but also have modern harbour defenses if I'm not mistaken. How cool would that first surprise assault on the lake be using those?
Even if every one can get to a depot in a day or two it still takes time to equip them and to organize. And of course pull the tanks and other vehicles out and get them ready for battle. A five day advantage is a big deal because of the speed of movement in this time frame.
100%, you get the chance to seize the high ground, but what then? Once you grab your objectives, you have to hold them, right? And given the dearth of large standing armies, all that speed might be wasted given that you only have enough guys around to do one - or at best two - things.
Motorized and mechanized are 2 different classifications. Motorized which is what your "Foot" troops would probably be is they can move in Trucks, Mechanized is Half tracks and More Modern M113, APC's and maybe Bradley's, AFV. Still Trucks can move fast, just more vulnerable to ambush.
It feels like "modern" military technology is not well defined. "Traveller-esque" is the most specific categorization I can remember. Just addressing "mobility," there are huge differences from WWII-era through Desert Storm-era. A five day mobilization advantage smells like a failure of intelligence (before) and logistics (after). Return prayers volley loosed 🙏
It would be cool to see you run this campaign using Striker since that was the wargame rules for OG Traveler. Baring that, Stargrunts II might be worth a check and the best part is the rules are free ninety-nine.
I think Dirtside might be more appropriate, since the maneuver elements are regiments, and not a platoon. Both great rulesets; haven't played them in years, but very generous of Mr Tuffley to give them away online for free. And even better - you buy the chits are that necessary for the game again at Ground Zero!
@@tonys4341 True, that would work better. And don't forget full thrust so you can go play at all ends of the battle field. Along with some good looking models, their power armor models are excellent have that nice clunky 80's hard sci fi anime power armor vibe.
I bought this PDF because of you
“Captain Cook was the first man to set foot on this planet”
Earth? Wow, he was much older than I thought. LOL
Fluid Harbor. Obviously the most strategic location on the map. No doubt going to get leveled.
I bet no-one ever wants to go to those swamps in the bottom left corner. You could call them “The Neverglades”.

I look forward to every Hyde Campaign video!!
The opposite of Septentrional is Meridional
Northern leaders Strudeau. Southern leader Trident.
What period armies will you be using? How “modern”?

Seems like the opposition for both sides might be able to cause some trouble

This is really helpful. I kinda know the purpose, but get a little hazy on the correct usage.
