Ls3 came out in 2008 not 2006. Also these cars are known for getting pretty good gas mileage for having 400+ hp. Im consistently between 21-23 mpg commuting back and forth to work in the summer. Thats city and highway driving mixed. Highway owners see minimum 28 mpg and up. To get 5 mpg means you are either sitting with it idling for hours on end and/or flooring it every chance you get. Also known for being extremely reliable. If you're breaking a c6 corvette repeatedly its strictly because of an absurd amount of abuse.
Yes, I have an 05 manual and every time I’ve taken it to the dealer or any other place to get worked on they refuse to park it in reverse even after I repeatedly tell them and they constantly kill my batteries. 😡
05 manual has to be parked in reverse unless you have a coupon for free batteries. 08+ gets you the LS3 and a more favorable 6spd auto. 05 rear diff is weak. Bluetooth? Aftermarket and gain a backup camera

Nothing wrong with the manual 6spd that came with the 05-07... many will say the later tr6060 is better, smoother, etc etc but honestly you probably wouldn't tell a difference. They have weak rear ends... I'd buy a well sorted built 05-07 without hesitation over a stock ls3/6060

The downside to the05 is, 24 tooth reluctor wheel, week rear, have to park in reverse. The plus side of 05, RPM stage 5 diff, RPM stage 5 t56. Its 3150lbs with a set of coilovers on it. If you blow up your LS2 drop an LS3 in it.

2005 was worst year nothing on that year was good lol ls2 isn't weak you just need to educate yourself on how to modify. The 05 auto was 4 speed 06 and up to 13 was 6 rear diff on 05 was weak also

These cars are great but if you’re trying to make 1000 horsepower on stock parts we’ll don’t expect reliability.
Not everyone wants to turn their corvette into hell on wheels. Few bolt ons and you’re already competing with cars from today while remaining reliable
