I like the way you "prove" the mechanics at every step; not only does it showcase the effectiveness, but it helps me retain it. I'm always that guy in class that you have to show me something more than once because I have anxiety :( and I find this kind of instruction helps me a lot. I can focus on the technique instead of being self-conscious. You will get tired of hearing this, but what I mean to say is "thanks".
Test, measure, re-test. Without proof we know nothing. That's why I love the combat arts. All out techniques are test in a live setting. Traditional martial arts cannot compare. I'm happy you like the teaching method I use. I run through it a bit fast cause I assume u guys will watch it a few times. When I teach in class I go much slower of course cause if u miss the details there no replay button.
Tristar Gym I couldn't ask for anything more. I have a feeling a lot of people are going to be watching your channel VERY soon and that's good and bad. Good for obvious reasons, but bad because there is no fucking way you are gonna have time write comments like this ;) I can't wait for your setups video, that's my shit lol
Hey Coach, Id just like to thank you again Coach. I really appreciate it! Although I'm all the way over in Australia, it sounds like we have a few similarities: Im also Lebanese, currently a BA student majoring in philosophy, I do muay thai, and recently started (became addicted to) BJJ. Thank you so much for all the effort you put into making your videos as good as they are. The tutorials and the nutritional videos and the life advice and just everything you post has really helped my practice on the mat. And despite being a total bad ass, your approach to training and life in general seems so humble and healthy and wise, that i cant help but be inspired to be like you Firas!
That was great man. Love the little Kimura grip tip. Will definitely be using it. I'm competing in 6 weeks and your videos are my go to resource. Thanks
Great vid - high points for me were the switch from the guard pass to the sliding quarter mount pass, and the wrist rotation tip. I agree with other comments on your if-this-then-that approach and your emphasis on proof. You have very lucky students, thank you for sharing!
I am loving these techniques, love the way you explain everything and make it so simple, caught a few people with the hip bump triangle combo love it!! Keep them coming :)
I use this pass all the time, thanks for the fine points, and the kimura grip, i think thats what Ive been missing because Ive been having a hell of a time locking it up even once Im in a dominant position to finish.
Coach, when i go for the knee slice, my opponents use their other leg to knee shield. You explained tucking your right arm to avoid getting underhooked, but does doing that also prevent the knee shield?
First watched this video when it was uploaded. Still find myself coming back to it and teaching this to my classes. Love this channel.

Grabbing the hand to hold the kimura works so well! I was having trouble keeping the big dudes from straighten out their arms, thanks!!!
That wrist twist is an amazing detail. Thanks Professor. OSS
Firas, your videos are amazing! Such a high value. Thank you!

Amazing Detail, of twisting the arm for the wrist lock, and the pinkie hold for the Kimura that I never knew about.
I am loving these techniques, love the way you explain everything and make it so simple, caught a few people with the hip bump triangle combo love it!! Keep them coming :)

Love these. I was experimenting with your collar tie up today. Lots of opportunities open up when you manipulate arm.

You’re the best Firas!
Firas, you are genius.
Great Strategies coach!
Coach, when i go for the knee slice, my opponents use their other leg to knee shield. You explained tucking your right arm to avoid getting underhooked, but does doing that also prevent the knee shield?
g8eo3 Yes and no, you do use that arm to stop the knee shield, but not always necessarily tucking it in
i tore my knee tendons with this technique . he garbed my ankle and twisted to the other side . was this a knee bar ?
Great details. Thanks.
thank you coach
Coach did you delete youre gut wrench video?
Details 🙏
Sweet thanks
Ty
...at the end of the vid, when you lock on the kimura, you're still in his half-guard. Can you finish from there?
Yes you can. Its not easy but doable. I very much like to use the Kimura to pass and then still holding the Kimura got for the submission.
Firas is magic 😉
What with the dislikes? What’s there not to like? These vids make me want to grapple right like NOW!
LETS GRAPPLE (me too i wanna grapple)
