  • Interested in buying the Vespa 946 Red? The Duke of DC reviews the special edition 2018 Vespa 946 Product (RED). Trust me when I say this beautiful scooter transports you to Italy every time you step on.
    I've always had a soft spot for scooters. The United States is truly one of the last places on earth where they aren't the main form of transportation, and I can't blame the other countries where it is. Increased fuel economy, two-up riding options, inexpensive parts (well maybe not this Vespa, Ha), makes for a perfect commuter that's easy to park and insure.

      @@realStefanLowe Depends on country. America gets 150cc, but a lot of other countries get a 125cc because it makes sense in terms of motorbike licences in those countries.

    Riding a Vespa in the US is like eating burgers in Rome. It doesn't feel right.

    I remember your first Vespa video. It is still one of the best videos you have ever put out. Top 3 in my book. You had so much fun and I was laughing right along with you. You weren’t out to do a test ride that day but ended up on your first scooter ride. This ride was more of a test. Still a quality video mind you but a much different tone.

    Memories! That was Rossalyn (spl?). I work in Naples, Italy and just picked up an older Vespa ET4. As a long time motorcyclist, these things are a blast and I don't know how I went so long without one.

    Senior head of trolling at Vespa: I'm bored... You know what would be hilarious? Slightly changing the seat of a $5k Primavera and charging the suckers buying it an extra $3k just for a stupid seat! 😂
    Vice president of the trolling department at Vespa: You know what's even better? Using a 50 cents calculator display for the speedometer and making the suckers pay an extra $2k on top🤣🤣🤣!
    CEO of Vespa: *crying tears of joy* You guys deserve every million of your salary!

      Designed by the guy who worked on the more modern Bugattis. Contains a lot more metal construction than all the modern Vespas, and is completely hand built in small quantities at their Italian factory.
      It’s the top level of what they can produce.
      They release a new design every year in small quantities, and although it’s a niche market - they always sell out of every edition.
      Some, like the Christian Dior version now exchange hands for 30k+, and are appreciating year on year.
      You don’t really get hand built vehicles at this price point.

    Great video. I do want to say that this particular model Vespa does not have under seat storage so I don't find it that practical.
    On another note; I love seeing DC again. The place I called home for many years. I use to work in Georgetown and I do believe you came in via the Whitehurst freeway ....bridge? Then, if memory serves me, you were under the bridge on Water Street, which turns into K Street heading downtown. Later it looks like you were on Wisconsin Avenue and M Street which is the heart of Georgetown. I even think you rode pass the building where I use to work (the company is no longer around). Anyway, ah memories. Thanks for that. :)

      Always happy to bring back good memories for folks. I agree that this is more of a special Vespa than a utilitarian scooter. I did take out the Sprint 50 after and a video will be coming soon on that

    How does this bike compare against the Honda Super Cub? Is it faster slower? Comfort? Just wondering even though I’d never get a scooter but it still looks fun.

      You know, I like the super cub more from a historical appreciation perspective. I’d love to do a video “slowest drag race” with this Vespa and the Honda racing down a quarter mile haha

      DukeOfDC “slowest drag race” sounds like it would be a lot of fun. Really appreciate you replying to my comments. I’m going to watch more and more of your videos and recommend and share your videos. You have a great channel😀👍

      @paulkmaster3231 3 года назад

      Truly an honor that you would even visit my channel. I know how hard it is to do a good review and vlog. Watching your videos it seems effortless but I know you put a lot of work into them and also have a true talent. You are a very funny person and very knowledgeable so it’s easy and entertaining to watch. All these trolls( I get them too)have no idea how difficult it is to produce good content out of thin air to finished polished productions like yours. It hurts to get negative comments I know especially when you put your heart and soul into these. I love it when people bring up errors in specs like no it’s 936cc’s not 932cc’s and so on....
      Anyways if they do it to you as good as you are then who am I then when I get negative feedback. Keep up the great work and please don’t let a couple of idiot “spec” inspectors bring you down

    The Vespa 946 is a thing of beauty. It really is a piece of art not unlike a Ferrari or Bugatti but in a small scooter package. It is unfortunate that they have such an ugly, digital, out of time & place speedometer. A classic analogue dial/speedo would have been so much classier & suitable to the form of the 946.

    • @kenmitteldorf8842
      @kenmitteldorf8842 3 года назад

      Right around the 1:30 mark you went through a wide intersection (when the bicyclist gets in your way). Because of the placement of the traffic light, at first glance it appeared that you blatantly ran the red, although in fact you had almost completely cleared the intersection when the light changed. It bothered me when I first saw it and went back and watched that bit again. I think that’s what Lizzie Nuovo was referencing.

    Vespa or any motorcycle is pointless in US as its illegal in rush hour to go between the cars so it defeats the purpose of owning one to skip the traffic. Europe is a different story.
