Happy for people to keep predicting a quarter final exit for Ireland. It will make the win all the more satisfying!
I do think we'd prefer to meet New Zealand in the quarters than France.
I agree. So many pundits are writing off Ireland based on Ireland's performances in the warm-ups. They forget that Ireland was the last nation to name their squad so they fielded a lot of B players in ALL the warm-ups and these players were competing for places in the squad right to the last game against Samoa. Under these circumstances team cohesion suffers and a squad cannot perform at their best. But I actually believe this was a tactical move by Andy Farrell. After all, it has resulted in pundits lowering their expectations of Ireland - which can only mean lower expectations and less stress for the squad as a whole. It also means no-one has any knowledge of whether Ireland has really improved or disimproved since the 6 Nations - unlike South Africa who have shown the world their entire hand so that now all their opponents know exactly what Africa are about.
Do not underestimate the power of a psychological brick wall IF Ireland make it out of their group stage.
@@worldchampions4379 Do not underestimate the power of a green wall when Ireland make it out of their group stage. ☘💚
Ireland will win World Cup
It could very well happen for Ireland for sure!!! 🇮🇪 If the Boks don't win, I'm hoping for Ireland to win! 😊
Only prediction i will give is All Black will loose opening game. Fiji will be world cup surprise and Australia will play in semi’s and be a surprise! Its the world-cup of PROPS. They who have it will be there!!
I also thought France would win the Opener.... until they also lost lock Paul Willemse, they also lost loosehead prop Cyril Baille & centre Jonathan Danty sustained a hamstring injury. So 3 of the main French players out. I reckon NZ will take this one due to too many power-players lost in French team.
Think it will be a hard game, but don't see France winning the opener.
It’s very hard listening to boks trying not to be biased. They basically said the only reason ireland would beat them, is if the boks decide they don’t want to win 😂 tuned out right away. Best of luck with that BS but real fans ain’t buying that.
Tuned out enough to leave a comment 😅
To suggest that this Ireland team, ranked #1 for good reason, can’t win a 1/4 final because no previous team has achieved this is ridiculous. I heard the same punditry after the first test in the NZ series and we know what happened there. Ireland’s chances of making a semi will revolve around what 23 they can field in the 1/4, based on injuries and cards. Like 4 other teams in the competition, on their day they can beat anyone. Predict on form, not superstitions.
I actually think that Fiji and Georgia have a realistic chance of being 1 & 2 in group C
How do people feel about an Ireland vs Springboks final??
Ireland would need to knock NZ out in the quarters (which I can see happening), and take out Australia in the semis...
SA would need to knock out France in the quarters (also possible), and knock out Argentina in the semis...
Obviously, certain things need to happen in the pools for this to happen but I can see it happening... (wild or nah?)
Willemse is also out for France and that's massive. With out injuries France were my tip but I have a feeling SA will prevail. No disrespect but if you do win I hope you do it with stlye not just forward power. Ireland have done their usual trick of peeking too early and I think you are being way to kind to England, trust me they havent reached the bottom yet, if Japan were not so out of form I would have taken them to place second but now I think maybe it is Samoas time. I'm a rugby fan 1st and an England supporter second. As for the AB's I think they have lost their cloak of invincibility. I'll also bet one or more games will be decided by red and yellow cards.
I favour Samoa for second too... which could end up in a Springboks vs Ireland final! 🤞🏾 I'm a Boks fan, but I'm loving a bit of Irish rugby at the minute so it would make for a great final! 😁
The iris beat all the bug names ba k to ba k last year v half
Samoa to beat England
enjoyed the analysis and rapport guys and some fair calls made. Barring any upset it could be France vs AB in the final or France vs Springboks IMO with the French the likely winners. Just can't see Ireland getting there and in all likelihood, other teams will just make up the numbers.
The upset would be if Ireland don't beat NZ and/or France. France were Ireland's most challenging opponents in the 6 Nations. They were behind Ireland at half-time, spent only 48 seconds (yes seconds!!) in Ireland's 22 during the entire second half, and also managed to score only a drop goal in the entire second half. Ireland's speed had exhausted them by the end of the 3rd quarter. Ireland beat NZ in five of their last eight encounters. Ireland were the last nation to name their 33-man squad for the RWC. For this reason their B-players were still being fielded and contesting for places in the squad to the end of the warm-ups. This means Ireland remained low-key during the warm-ups and revealed nothing of their true form. You have no evidence to back up why you "just can't see Ireland getting there". But that's the way Irish fans like it. No hype, no big expectations. 👍☘
Records are there to be broken 🇮🇪
How many years were South Africa Excluded from the World Cup because of Apartheid?
Ireland are the form team and have beaten all the other top teams, away and at home. I think Ireland will be playing the All Blacks in the quarters and will beat them as they are showing that at the moment, they are a busted flush. France will beat South Africa in the other quarter.
Boks!
Up the Wah's..... ☝️🤪
If South Africa reach the final, they will win it. South Africa has never lost after reaching the world cup final.
Would've in 95 but .......
neither have the kiwis but I think that will change for both if the final is against France.
Wrong
Bokka vs ABs in the final. Argies can go far aswell. Six nations teams can come apart in pressure moments, I reckon they will
Australia couldn't win a game of Bingo. Ireland are world number 1 for a reason.
Usual tripe from SH fans with no clue of NH rugby haha
I agree, Aussies are not looking good at the moment. Ireland and France can not beat a Bok side if the officiating is fair. No ways can those 2 sides beat the Boks. The ABs will want to prove a point and they are a good coached side and have a dangerous backline.
@@johncraig9011 yes both of those sides can. It’s the fans that make the excuses tho.
Qtrs: NZ vs Ire; SA vs Fra; Aus vs Eng; Fiji vs Arg
I do not think an AB Boks final is possible with the pools winner matches
Wow. You place an absolutely ridiculous emphasis on history, rather than how the actual teams have been playing and the teams selections in the build up, or how the different countries professionalism and rugby has evolved...
Bokka boys if the ABs don’t make the finals us Kiwis always support Springboks when we don’t play you. And if we lose to anyone let it be the Bokka….
I never hear any of you guys say again that Springbks are three times winner of the World Cup and more so they played in one less World Cup.
2 less World Cups .1987 and 1991
Two "less" or fewer world cups than the others! '87 and '91
Because it's no big deal
I loved the statistic about Pool D 😂😂😂
Guys, to present a show like this you need to be unbiased and think with your head and not your hart.
Yrrrrr... this cup is so hard to call!!!! 🤦🏽♀️😂 A Springboks vs France final would be BRUTAL!!!
The one thing that is statistically true about the Boks is if they make it to the final, they are lifting the cup!
So... I reckon they will either exist in 3rd place or they will win.
ABs 💪
If France can make the final I don't see anyone beating them. That team will feed off the energy and play the best game of their lives. (Speaking as a Boks fan.)
As a Black's fan, I totally agree
It looks like Willamse is out for France now too. Another big loss. It's a shame because I think if France had all those guys fit, they win that game
NZ have 2 maybe 3 first choice players out because of injury Retallick,Frizell and Lomax
Avoid cards, especially red. These could easily be the difference between the 4 or 5 top sides. Reliable place kicking., bit of luck and injury avoidance.
Love the “the hub’” SA gotta be on their A game to beat Scotland and very good day at the office to beat Ireland
If NZ beat France & the boks beat Scotland then the boks won't mind losing to Ireland & can rotate the team
They still wont rotate for Ireland...for Tonga & Romania only..
Actually Romania and springboks go through
I do think France's front row is slightly better than the Irish front row...
Will take some performance to get on top of Porter, Sheehan/Kelleher, Furlong.
To win the WC a team needs to be able to win 3 HUGE games back to back. No N/Hemisphere side has this capability. Only the Boks and ABs have the depth and durability to pull this off.
Group winners: NZ, SA, Aus, Arg
Southern hemisphere rules ❤
Australia and Argentina aren't good enough.
@@galinor7 wrong...Aus are on the verge of winning...getting better & better...theyll win the group. Arg are best in their group and have also put on some good performances. U can put money on it...
NZ beat France in opener...SA beat Scotland...& Ireland later on..
Everyone forgetting about how awesome Ireland is ……..not easy winning a test series in NZ ……..they will be motivated big time ?
Pollard is back by Tonga latest, if not by Romania
Springbok vs AB final
I hope so. That would be intense.
Carnage!
that's the gold standard
The epitome of rugby’s greatest matchup both three time world cup winners both vying to be the first to claim four times winner!!!
