- Fix a Sandisk Sansa Clip MP3 Player that is locked up and won't turn on. My Sansa Clip Zip locked up and wouldn't turn on, so I took the opportunity to make a video on how to fix it. It had been working fine. But I paused it and a little while later when I tried to turn it on, it wouldn't power on. I knew that it had a full charge as it had been plugged in. I did a reset and got it to work again.

I was also pissed. And i threw my receipt away so i know they wouldnt help me at the store. Mine is a week old. It turned back on after a few seconds.

Oh my God, thank you so much, this Sansa Clip is my baby, I've had it since 2009 and it has never let me down. I was so disappointed to find that it died on me, but this fixed the problem. Thank you so much
Thank you so much! My poor husband was so sad it stopped working, mostly because our TV just stopped working out of nowhere yesterday, so he was worried about everything else breaking on him. I'm glad I'll be able to present him with a non-broken player in the morning. =)

My Sansa stopped working when I paused it. Thought it was the battery just conking out on me, but after 1hr charging, it still wouldn't turn on. I genuinely thought it had died and that I would need a new mp3 player. But tried this trick of holding menu button and on/off button together for 20seconds and hey presto - it started and is well again!!! Couldn't believe it!

AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!! I was at such a loss. My Sansa Clip just turned off - wouldn't do ANYTHING (and it had just fully charged). I was at a loss because they don't see my model anymore. THANK YOU!!! Today my SanDisk Clip Sport turned on fine for my daily walk and even allowed me to adjust the volume. But when I got home none of the buttons would work... not the power, volume, rewind, FF, etc. I had no means of turning it off. This has never happened before and I don't know why it happened today. I instinctively tried holding down the power & menu buttons together, and I was bummed that it didn't work. Turns out that I'd given up too soon, like after 8 seconds. But 20 seconds worked perfectly. Thanks, RJ! And thanks, RJ's wife!

Mine got frozen as it turned off, so it never completely turned off. Instead the logo remained on the screen. So I came to this video and your solution worked for my issue as well. Thanks for saving me time!
Brother, I have two of these cip sport MP3s I almost tossed because I had driven myself crazy trying to get my computer to read them so I could refill them with music. Both turned on. Both Charged. But my computers would not read them like they once did.Nor would the songs I know were on both clip sports come back and play. I went to the San Disk website. I tried downloading new drivers etc. Nothing worked. Then I see your post here on pushing the start and the back buttons at the same time. I thought, "Maybe this takes you back to a factory reset with a San Disk Clip Sport MP3 player?."
So I tried your method which helps people turn on their charged Clip Sports which won't turn on any longer by, holding both the on/off and back buttons for ten seconds at the same time.
Guess what?
BOOM! All the old music on both players re-appeared,
I deleted those songs, and now I am refilling this clip sport with new music all because I spent two minutes watching your video thinking, "Maybe my man discovered the factory reset?"

Not a factory reset. But it is kind of a hard reboot of the device.
Did you learn this trick by accident? Please don't tell me it was in the manual, which was printed in a nano-font a magnifying glass could not make legible. LOL! I'm a lifelong subscriber to your channel now.
@@ROYates-rf4fr I can't remember. I might have read it somewhere. Or just figured it out. A lot of devices reboot if you hold the power button. Like my computer, my old Tom Tom GPS, my Garmin GPS, etc.

Considering there are very few companies left that make inexpensive MP3 players, you just saved many of us from resorting to forking out $$$$$ on "that other" brand!

Thank you very much for sharing this. The procedure worked on my SanDisk Clip Jam, which was stuck in radio mode. None of the function buttons would work; I could not turn the unit off, I could not access the menu, I could not change the radio station, I could not even adjust the volume. But the reset trick you suggested fixed all that! Now it's working as it should. Thanks again.
