Hi Lexi, congratulations on hitting 12K!! So well done and cheers to you! Thank you so much for such an informative and detailed review on these fantastic brushes. You really came through with everything we need to know and more including all the comparisons. I'm so happy that Sonia and Beautylish sent this amazing, high performing set your way. You are so deserving and always work so hard for us!! 🥰
Over the last year or so, I’ve become more interested in makeup…and now I’m learning about brushes! Thank you so much for your clear explanations of the function of each brush. You are the best!
Well, I have some work to do. My immediate reaction is just “I want them all”, but videos like yours are informing me that I already have some that will do the same job, but that there are definitely some in this set that I do not have. I must do my research, because my wallet would prefer that I be choosy. Thanks again for the hard work putting this together!
Lexi, great review of the Sonia G brushes! You’re always so detailed & know your brushes! That’s so great they gifted to you so deserved. You can’t go wrong with Sonia G brushes these look like great brushes!! Thanks for reviewing them! 😊🌺
Hi Lexi, congrats on hitting a new subscriber high of 12k and getting gifted such nice new edition brushes from Sonia G./Beautylish . So well deserved! You provide such detailed information on new beauty products and tools to assist us in making good choices. I’m excited for this new brush release and will fill in any gaps in my current collection. You’re the best! ❤
Lexi, you are the best when it comes to comparisons and in depth explanations. Thank you for making it very clear as to which brushes I need to add to my extensive collection 😊❤
Such a great reviews/comparison At the end of the day Little difference doesn’t make big difference on the lid Congrats for this video is so informative ❤
Lexi, thank you so much for such a thorough video! Your hard work is always amazing and all of those comparisons were super helpful! I can’t wait to get the entire set, I was waiting for it!
Just watched this one, wow, dear Lexi, this brush review...i'm amazed like every video, really comparing all brushes to others, i'm gonna look twice tomorrow this video a 2nd time again, as it's so good!!!!🤩🤩🤩🤩And i love Sonia's brushes!!! Also great at the end of the video, which are most special, because they're new: super video, thanks so much!!!😘😘😘😘
Thank you very much. You are so detailed with your videos. I feel I really understand where these brushes would add in my collection and where they may duplicate an existing brush (not that that is a bad thing!). Most appreciated as brushes are not cheap!
I first off: congrats on the PR - so deserved. I had a moment of high excitement when I saw a short-lived sneak-peek earlier. (Carole King’s « Anticipation » has been playing in my mind all morning.) Great thorough video describing, demoing and comparing each of these fabulous brushes. (I think you need to meet Sonia G in person !) The close-ups of you applying different shadow formulations and textures really help to showcase each of the brushes - especially that you are accompanying these close-ups with relevant comments about their feel and performance. This set is evidence that Sonia G has been staying up-to-date with eyeshadow trends and formulations - which have changed a lot over the last 5 years. Thank you for the great presentation.
Thanks for this comprehensive review! Soooooo many brushes so little face! Congratulations on the milestone, although I’m mega confused as to why you don’t have 100k!
Hi Lexi, I just bought the second Sky Eye set (it will arrive next Monday). I knew this new ones will come but I love the Sky Eye set and I wanted a duplicate. I also have the trio holiday set from last year (love them). From this new set I am tempted to buy Builder M, Builder S and Pencil S. I am a bit disappointed because they are not made with saikoho goat hair but it is what it is. I think they are now more like Rephr brushes (hair quality). The difference will be that Rephr brushes have great sales and Sonia G not. I am waiting for mini keyaki buffer to be back on stock but now I’m not so sure because I think it will be with a lower quality goat hair. 😟 Thank you for your great review!🙂
I can understand why they don't state saikoho but I don't think you will be disappointed with the quality. I think she did her best to acquire saikoho but so many distributers are just not separating the hair by level any longer. I agree that the Rephr sales are definitely a huge draw and will be a major difference. Honestly, that is why I am really buying a lot of brushes at this time in my life - the hair quality will just continue to decrease imo so I'm making investments for my children too. Lol. Maybe it's partly an excuse though, lol.
I think is an excuse for you! 😁You have a lot of brushes and you can easy cover at least 3 generations.🤣 I’ll wait for limited edition and then I’ll take a decision. Because you have so much knowledge about brushes and I trust in your opinion I need an advice. I have 2 Surratt blush brushes and Smooth buffer (Sonia G) fot blush as well (was your recommendation to use for Sisley blushes and thank you for that 🤗). I want 2 more blush brushes (for powder formula) and I don’t know what’s the best (good quality and not crazy price). Also I don’t like very big brushes (I have a small face). Usually I buy blushes from Gucci, Armani, TF and now I want Rose Cuivre from Hermes. XOXO
@@LexiJonghaha that has been my excuse for my brush buying frenzy these last couple of years. The fude world is changing, and it doesn’t seem for the better. That’s not to say manufacturers will definitely produce subpar brushes, or that artisans will put less effort in, but they can only do so much in a tighter and more expensive market.
Hi Lexi, this video was SO helpful! I ended up preordering just the four new brushes as I already own the original ones the other four were based off of.
@@LexiJong I think I will too! I am also interested in the new BK Beauty brushes collaborate with Nikki LaRossa - will you be reviewing those perchance?
I want to pick these up. I don’t have her original brushes so these will be new to me. I do have the PRO eye and I am waiting for the Fusion Eye Set to arrive. Nice video!
Lexi- congrats on 12k- So well deserved. 🎉🎉🎉 And what a great in depth review, as always!! Sonia G always has great brushes and the 2 brushes that I was thinking of getting were actually your top 2 recommendations. 👏👏 Quick question though - Do you have the Rae Morris 9.1? If so, how does that compare to the pencil s?
Thank you for this detailed review, Lexi! I’m really tempted by this set and may pick up some singles but still trying to decide between whether to get these (since they’re going to be permanent ) or hold off for her upcoming holiday release 🥰
@@LexiJong That’s what I’m leaning towards honestly is waiting for holiday (whatever it is lol) ☺️ Thanks for your honesty and recommendations! Your hard work doesn’t go unnoticed or unappreciated.
Hey Lexi. Questions, please! 😀 My Worker Two is stiffer at the tip/edge. My Worker Three has movement at the tip/edge. Are yours the opposite of mine? Do both the new Worker S and Worker M have movement at the tips? Is the new Builder M tip still soft for smudging? Thank you! I finally put the special goat hair Rephyr brush on my face. Sooo soft. I wish I bought two because it would be a lovely gift.
I am so glad you got the Rephr brush! It's very special! As for the Worker brushes, my worker two has more movement at the core than the worker three which seems to have a stiffer center. There is movement on the edges of both but the three definitely feels stiffer in the center. Ours must be the opposites. If I recall correctly, I got the second batch of these when they released so it is probably just a batch issue as it isn't a huge difference. Both of the Worker S and M have some movement at the tips but if you use very little pressure, you can feel a stiffness at the tip on both brushes. The Builder M is still soft for smudging.
Hi Lexi, I was so glad that you compared the Pencil S with the rephr 23. I'm trying to find a smudger type brush to press into my upper lashline (more of the outer 2/3) and also smudging slightly at the outer corner. I've tried doing this with BK 204 which I've seen Nikki La Rose use this way in a video. It's not bad, but I wouldn't mind finding something even better. I own the rephr 23 and have been disappointed with it. So many content creators have raved about this brush and I suppose it is good for some things, like highlighting the inner corner. But I have not found it good for the upper lashline. I find that it is not firm enough. How does the SG Pencil S compare as far as "firmness," say? Also, I love the way your eyes look here and appreciate your listing what you are wearing; in particular I have been very interested in Byredo's kajal liners. What do you think of them, and does their short chunky shape make them difficult to work with? I like wooden type pencils ( for example, Jones Road "The Best Pencil") and in fact prefer them to pencils like VB's Satin Kajal.
The SG is a bit more firm than the rephr but honestly, it isn't a drastic difference so it might not be the one for you. The Byredo are not quite as firm as the Jones Road but nowhere near as soft as the Victoria Beckham. They have a creaminess as you are using them but stay pretty firm during application so it's easier to be more precise. I think the small chunky shape helps with that too although it also means the point doesn't get quite as fine. The Chantecaille Eye Blend brush is a nice smudger but it might be a little large for your purposes. It's nicely dense though.
Thank you Lexi. Very helpful, and I just took a look at the Chantecaille brush. It's difficult to judge it from the website and vague reviews. Perhaps I might be able to see it in person during my next "visit" to Bloomingdale's :) Nikki La Rose came out with a brush set (via BK Beauty) which includes a smudger. I'd be interested in trying it, but don't want to purchase the entire set. Perhaps her brushes will be offered individually in the future. Truly appreciate the time and effort you take to respond. I really enjoy you and your videos. Have a wonderful weekend!@@LexiJong
