The Indycar oval cars doing so badly. I know they don't normally do standing starts but I thought they'd claw the time back. I think they'd be right in the mix over 1.5km though.
The Williams was fast, but the Ferrari 2004 and the Red Bull are much faster on a normal race track.

And a both a very limited budget and limited time line. It's actually quite surprising just how LITTLE work they did to the car, and how much more they could do if given a larger budget and more time.
But still a car that existed.
I would've loved to see the 917 against modern NASCAR; the acceleration vs. all out speed disparity would've been really amusing.
Unrealistic!!!! The top fuel car would’ve blown its engine well before the finish. Which would give the 919 evo a chance.
But in all seriousness, nothing really surprised me. Great video. I love watching all the experiments on this channel

@@WinstonPinetorum ohh I agree with you. The top fuel car gets up to 300mph in no time at all and I think the momentum alone would beat the 919 at the videos drag distance.
@@Birdhouseboi810 I'm kinda on your side. Cause since the beginning I new EVO would come on top, that thing is Nike's freaking manifestation. But I wasn't sure which F1 would be second (RB discarded obviously).
Also I concur with you on the way top fuel would have to go "pdfrrrraaaaaaaa" for 3.5 seconds and then shut everything off and just glide into victory the rest of the way.

imagine a drag race but with a tight twist at the middle when cars are going at 300+, something like the 130R at flat out speed, well this gave too much advantage to LMP1 and F1, they just scream in unison: hold my 5+G turn
Do drag cars not need an engine rebuild after every pass? Meanwhile the other can do 24 hours non stop racing

Now that we have the results for a 1km track. You should do this again with a 1.5 or 2km track. 5:32 That 917 is a rocket ship, 226 mph/364 kmh in 1 km... is absurdly fast.

Good lord u could hear as the 917/30’s turbo finally finished spooling up and then took off like a rocket
With DRS and actually using the hybrid all the way down the straight the 919 evo hits rev limiter (229mph/368kph) a solid 300 meters before the 1000 meter mark, it did a 13.58 1000m time, so around 1.5 seconds faster than in the video

I feel like a lot of these races would have been closer with better launches. Also watching that CamAm Porsche just run down the other cars was awesome
I love how you didn't mention any set times apart from the differences between cars in the actual races, that way the tension was kept up all the way to the end, nice detail and good thinking

Probably not quite the fastest, but it still had an impressive top speed of 385km/h, as well as lapping the Talladega speedway at an AVERAGE speed of 356km/h. When you consider that the 917 family started being built in 1969 and the 917/30 was built in 1973, it'd be terrifying to think about how much faster its successor(s) would have been had the class it was designed for not been terminated and had Porsche not been forced to stop development on it

If 917/30 can am was raced on lemans, it's top speed would be north of 260mph probably the record that would still yet to be broken

The Brabham being slow was the biggest surprise for me. The Top Fuel race was/ is a no brainer.

It is no surprise that the LMP1-H machine, equipped with a hybrid power unit consisting of a high-power engine and a motor that produces maximum torque from low speeds, and with 4WD and a lightweight body, is fast. However, the Porsche 919 EVO is just too fast. It is insane to attack the Nordschleife at full throttle with such a car.
what sort of aero are where you using for the setups? just stock aero settings from ac? or 0 degrees of wing angle for all of them?

I'm surprised the Road Course IndyCar beat the Oval spec
The Oval spec has extremely long gear ratios on the lower gears so that the higher gears can be shorter once it's on high speed. So, it doesn't launch very well compared to the Road Course IndyCar that has more normal gear ratios.
@@Starfire_Storm I would assume the road spec also just has better mechanical grip and gets a much better launch because of it.
You're right, it has the soft tyres available
The oval spec has much higher top speed, but the road course spec has much better acceleration. The oval then starts running faster, but it its too late. In a longer drag strip it may eventually catch up and pass the road spec.

IIRC it had traction control so I would expect it to get a much better launch than other formula cars.

Agreed. It’s like RedBull is the Favourite Child and the other teams are left to fend for themselves, They let RedBull Dominate and whenever any other Team Innovates they ban it, Formula One was to Innovate so I don’t why their doing this.
the bt55 could go faster, it was limited by gearing, try longer gears next time
It had the longest gearing. These cars gave very short gears to avoid turbo lag as much as possible

The Williams is the morale victor here as it took a massively modified LMP1 car to win, while the F1 car was standard. Just goes to show that F1 cars are head and shoulders above prototypes in tech, innovation and performance. A standard 919 would have lost big time.
I don't agree. I think the LMP1 era of endurance racing was some of the finest race cars we have ever seen. A 919 would maybe have lost the drag race (not by much if it did, to be fair, it still has 1000bhp) but it's like saying the Williams would be blown away at Le Mans over the 24h. Of course it would. It's not made for it.

Hahaha. I'd love to see an F1 car go down the mulsanne straight consistently over 300kmh 380+ times. It can't. Guess LMP1 engineering is unrivaled. Also right off the line an LMP1 car accelerates faster than an F1 car despite less horsepower.😂
@@Jesko. agreed lmp1 cars are more advanced engineering wise because they can race at Le Mans with long straights for 24 hours and race tracks that have corners like spa and silverstone

For me result must be wrong I don't think that any of this racing car would be beat F1 car in drag race accept top fuel dragster
LMP1 cars accelerated far faster than F1 cars, usually around a second faster in the 0-60, along with a higher average top speed.
The Porsche 919 Hybrid Evo would indeed beat most, if not all of these F1 cars in a drag race, considering it is an LMP1 car built with (mostly) no restrictions at all. It also broke Mercedes' F1 record around Spa, being about 5 seconds faster.
BUT the LMP1 restricted Porsche 919 would most likely lose to any post-2010 F1 cars presented here.
The results look about right. Another F1 kool-aid drinker here.

Play it in real racing 3 and you'll see just how much it can full throttle at nearly every curb. It's a monster.

@darkraig7378 that's not how all wheel drive works lol it disconnects the electric front motors mid corner LMP1s are only AWD on corner exit. Or else the tires would be stressed in 2 different directions and lose cornering

1 kilometer is 3 times the distance a top fuel dragster currently runs, even in it's old 1/4 mile trim it would have run out of fuel before half distance and aero and tire drag would have brought it's speed down to lower than the Porshes at the line. It still may have enough of a lead to win though.
These V6 F1s are rubbish they sound like table fans on wheels also you added 2 cars that aren’t race cars the Volkswagen and Formula E aren’t race cars they are oversized RC Cars 🙃

I had that dragster at one point! But couldn't get it to go that fast from launch.. updated the tire model, had someone adjust the wing hit boxes, but it still took longer to get away from the start than a real one can complete a run
Y bring the rally cars?? Its 1 mile race , rally cars can accelerate really good but lacks top speed heavily.
I Wonder what will happen if you bring in the LM legendary cars, world record cars like ssc bloodhound and current road/track ( nonracing ) legal cars like buggati, ssc, rimac, Hennessy and konigsengg.
