Every RUclips Channel needs a good, old-fashioned villain. Welcome to a new series I’m doing where I, definitely biasedly, defend video game villains as though I were their attorney. Be sure to argue against me down in the comments below, but be nice. This is all in good fun.
I had a lot of fun making this show, and it’s something I’ve been working on off and on for over a year, but to see it finally have a solid episode is really exciting. DOOM may not be the most algorithmically-excellent franchise to choose, but 2016’s DOOM was one of my favorite games to come out that year. And as you can see from the camera shots, is way more gorgeous than it has any right to be.
I wanted to do this topic, because, well, DOOM obviously really fits with the themes of the show, but also as soon as I was playing the game and they were like “yeah we’re extracting energy from Hell” I was like “OH BOY I CAN DO SOMETHING WITH THIS.” Also I just...adore Sameul Hayden, and any excuse to hear his voice more is chef’s kiss

it is not fair to associate the Doom Slayer with the UAC. It is very clear that the Slayer does not agree with the UAC and was as much a victim as the UAC workers as well as the demons.

He doesn't care about Demons cuz they fucked him up in the past so much that he is too angry too die. Inconclusion, Demons are still bad and the UAC and specifically Dr. Samuel Haden, are the bad guy. Eventhough Dr. Samuel was blinded by his success, he also lost his humanity in the progress

Actually, apparently in the 2016 one, instead of a bunny being offed, they tricked him with a false promise to heal his son, in exchange for revealing the weakness of his side. They mutated his son, and that's how the 2016 Slayer's story is...I watched a couple playthroughs and that's what I could remember.

Alright, let me place myself in the shoes of the judge...
"So you ask of me to ignore the documentation about how, none of said creatures are physically born but rather spawned, from what is apparently literal negative emotion and evolution from one creature to another. How all of these creatures, hunt and consume each other in their natural environment including among their own species. Or the even further extensive legends, that now are repeatedly proven to be true that indeed, these creatures are the mythical demons, that the "Argent" lands as you put them, are indeed Hell. The UAC is equally at fault, not more, nor less. These entities willingly submitted themselves to the technological improvements, as registered by their documents. Not to mention the footage recovered from the Mars site, further proves these entities are perfectly capable of resisting capture. It was, to their advantage, it was part of their will. This is not the first time they attempted an invasion. That much is clear. The Doom Slayer, as they call the criminal in question, is indeed guilty it seems. Guilty of betraying humanity. This seemingly immortal entity, according to the recordings OF the demons, describe him as a vengeful client, who they themselves double crossed and is now actively serving his sentence of being a single handed equivalent of the black plague with no cure, upon demons. Your client is entirely at fault for conspiring against mankind, for repeatedly attempting to invade our lands. They are also guilty of working with the UAC, which is also now considered a traitor of mankind. I find your client and the UAC in contempt of the law and guilty of several warcrimes. We will be declaring war officially tomorrow at sunrise and will begin moving our forces to protect our homes, families and loved ones. Unlike the mono-emotional monsters you have attempted to justify in their actions. Case closed."

Well said. Yes the UAC is guilty for what they did, but the demons of hell have shown that they are monstrous and they thrive on violence, death and destruction. They are guilty of warcrimes against humanity. Slayer, while committing crimes of his/her own is probably the sole being that can save humanity for good against demons and their blight against humanity. Next he/she should turn on UAC and wipe them out as well. Whats cool about this whole thing is how gray everything is, not black and white. Not, "demons are evil, humanity is good" No. Humanity is both fucked up evil and tranquil good. Demons are violent and dangerous but no doubt they have passions, loves and the like themselves. They are spawned, not born and made for war. But they had a right as well (by human laws anyway) to defend their home and their possessions.

I mean look at our History, Germany started 2 WW's so the USA carpet bombed their country into a flat rubble and Japan took 2 nukes for Pearl Harbor and the Rape of Nanking. We've followed that rule and in all honesty, I'd say we should go on an all out Crusade, slap on some of those red crosses on white tabards, teach our soldiers some prayer, rest bullets in holy water, really just go full on Deus Vult on them. I mean what's the worst that can happen, we win and use ardent energy forever as a source of power, abolish Hell itself permanently? Like really. But, what I wrote was PURELY from the context of what a judge in there would know and can say in his position. From MY POV, fuck Demons, fuck UAC and where's my fucking BFG.
Problem with declaration of War, the UAC most likely supplies most of the weapons for Earth's military forces not to mention providing POWER for said military forces as well as the rest of the planet. With the Rift closed, the planet will once again spiral into an energy crisis, which AGAIN requires more resources to remedy, which will take generations. Hard to wage war without the resources, especially with an enemy in another dimension. Just charge the UAC board of directors with the war crimes, punish them, and outlaw research into Agent Plasma.
I object completely on the point of the Doom Slayer being a Terrorist, as the Doom Slayer had continued his war against Argent, who had apparently no intention of calling for a cease-fire, as punishment for Argent's invasion on his homeland giving justifiable cause for war, nevermind Argent's other acts of aggression. Also, I would like to note that Doom Slayer had been forced to defend himself against the slew of Argent citizens that had taken over the Mars base thanks to Dr. Hayden's manipulation, and I believe entirely that Hayden's bringing of the Doom Slayer to his base was specifically to repel the Argent invasion without giving the Doom Slayer any other options but to do so.
This is supported by Hayden's knowledge of the Doom Slayer's past war versus Argent due to the artifacts that Hayden had stolen from Argent, and is further supported by his apparent fanaticism of the Doom Slayer.
The Doom Slayer, having been a Prisoner of War, I believe is therefore still entitled to reparations received from Argent for their crimes against his people and his imprisonment.

You also forget that the wraiths, the source of argent energy, as still alive and their life force is being violently extracted for power before the doom slayer finally put his gods to rest.
Arguably the Doom Slayer was more of a visitor than a resident considering how his armor is vastly more futuristic looking than those of the Argent D'Nur soldiers, so I'm not sure about that.

The remains of the night sentinel - commonly refered to as the Doom Slayer - agreed that they should have it as he has long before been an agent of them for pay. That property was taken by force as argent d'nurr did not belong to the demons initially and it was within illegal practices they were taken. My client, the...DOOMSLAYER was using his rights to avenge his lost home, it was a onesided battle the demons signed up for and they knew what they faced when they decided to not oblige to their side of a contract properly.

It isn't propaganda. It is just that he was working with data from Earth's perspective. Once the slayer gave him the codex, however... It was a quick case. The Doom Slayer goes free as the Demons have no legislation about warcrimes and invades Argent D'nur first, the UAC gets sued to hell and back for their gross misconduct, and the Demons recieve a war declaration for their anti-human conspiracy and subsequent invasion.
The Demons needed a lawyer, even if it was obvious they were going to lose. He was the public defendant unlucky enough to get them. Successfully getting a conviction on the UAC is impressive, seeing as he was defending LITERAL HELLSPAWN.
This came out when doom 2016 came out

In all seriousness while there were a few key flaws in your argument, it was certainly entertaining to watch (and probably fits in with the character). Keep up the good work!
The past 24 hours yes, but not the preceeding 50+ years of stealing, invasion, kidnapping, mutilation, fraud, and set up that came before the pull of a single switch, which never should have been built in the first place.

The response to this is truly overwhelming. I chose a topic that was honestly not going to be favored all that well by the RUclips Robotic Overlords, but was more thematically-appropriate for a first episode given it's literally, well, you know what they are ;). It's doing surprisingly well anyway. But more than that, this comments section is one of the most positive comments sections I've ever seen in my entire time making videos here. I'm glad that most of y'all seem to like it, and I can't wait to make more!

Also, this is tricky one because of the nuances. But for the purposes of Ending this case and starting another I will say they're not guilty.

@@edwinbasa2804 No, it was mostly the settlers who broke treaties with the natives rather than vice-versa. Granted, the natives were far from the peaceful proto-hippies pop culture pretends they were, but in terms of their own war-mongering being an issue that was mostly colonists backing one tribe against another until the natives were too spent to be a problem.
There has literally never been an agreement between the US government and a native american that hasn't been violated later, almost invariably by the American side of the deal. They'd say "we need this land; go here instead," and then a few years later they "needed" the new land too.
@@blarg2429 no i mean the first agreement and the first settlers that they agreed peace and the settlers even teach them cultivation and techniques from Europes then after many years its been broken because theres no written agreement and the Native think that the settlers to be removed in their lands even though they got paid by animal produce.. like furs . So it depends on what you view on things.
Plus i dont think the Natives is peaceful anyway, they kill other tribes and enslaved each other. Plus they practiced scalping so they not peaceful at all.
