Wow! So glad there is a video of Glen singing his song. No slight meant to Maroon 5 but Glen was the one that should have sung this song on the Hunger Games CD.
had the amazing experience of seeing this man live last year, and he explained how this song came about he wrote the song for the movie from the script and then did not get to sing it on the soundtrack from memory was because he was not well known enough wot the ??
High Five to you my friend as I so agree with everything you've said. My hubby and I have been discussing how a CD of the "soundtrack" gets released when not a single song on it is IN the movie. Not to mention Glen could've possibly landed another Oscar for this gem of a song. I know some might say we are biased but Maroon 5 while talented, does not convey what Glen does.
It's Glen's. He wrote it. I don't know if he sold it to Maroon 5 or to the people who did the 'soundtrack' that wasn't in the film. I do know it's a crime he didn't get to sing it in the film. That was an Oscar there and then if they were smart enough to have seen it.
I agree with all of you guys: He should have been the one to sing it on the soundtrack. But they probably wanted some girly band in order to appeal to the young female demographic. But there is a beautiful recording by him (and I believe Marketa Irglova for the second voice) on the deluxe version of his new album. Check it out.
Hansard wrote an amazing song, and, like always, made it sound amazing. Moron5 and Levine took this amazing song and watered it down to bull crap mainstream sounding pop garbage.
Actually, I don't really like The Hunger Games, and I kind of hate Maroon 5 and all the mainstream pop bands, I don't want to say mainstream is bad, but actually, since most of the things referred to be mainstream I know, it is. I'm not disappointed he didn't sing the soundtrack, since I don't want him to be drawn into the audience that doesn't understand the pure beauty of his music. Let's keep it here, where people know how to appreciate it like it should be.
Maroon 5 is all right, but Glen is a 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 times better singer than Adam Levine. He should've been the one to sing it on the soundtrack.

He just has such a great, natural voice. It's a joy, every time.
Oh what a wonderful night it was, thank you for sharing

'Little lost' as in Lost ones maybe? Now I'm confused again.
Wonderful recording. Thank you.
You are so right.

I'm confused...Is this Glen's song or Maroon 5? Or did glen wrote it for maroon 5? Anyway, the son is great.....
OK, 2:52 sounds more like Lass.
Good.
