Kim Bum-suk Kim of Incheon, South Korea has just certified on the Captains of Crush No. 3 gripper (www.ironmind.com/certification...) and you can watch the action right here. The 35-year-old, who is 176 cm (5’ 9”) and weighs 90 kg (198 lb.), started training with grippers about 4 years ago. First hearing about Captains of Crush grippers on the Internet, Kim Bum-suk could close the CoC No. 1 on the first try. In March 2014, he fully closed the Captains of Crush No. 3 for the first time with the credit card set-and it was his first credit card set attempt. Now he can “close No. 3 with the [credit card set] with no problem.” Kim Bum-suk trains twice a week, saying: “I prefer to do many reps [on a] weak gripper.” As a mechanical engineer, Kim Bum-suk says he uses his hand a lot a work. His future goal is closing the CoC No. 3.5. Congratulations, Kim Bum-suk: you have proven that you have world-class grip strength and your name has been added to the official list. Many thanks to Koo Hyoungtae for serving as the referee on Kim Bum-suk’s official attempt to close a CoC No. 3 gripper.
