The most beautiful thing about this is actually the fact, how carefully they be workin with his legacy. There was not a single moment, after his death, where i got the feeling that its about to become a sad sad cashgrab like some did on other deceased musicians before. In the abstract, it’s meant to be a video about childhood - growing up as an artist and the highs and lows of that experience. It’s a look at the emotional, difficult, and perilous but noble path of an artist.”

My son loves Mac Miller. He suffered every time he talks about Mac. He always ask why him? He started following Mac few years ago. He was his idol. For the last couple years, my son told me he will die soon. Just like Mac. He couldn’t believe such a young man passed. My son is not longer here. He committed suicide just a couple hours after this song was released on Sep 15. I’m not sure the time he passed away. But all he had in his computer was Mac Miller songs.
I wish he was had the opportunity to met him. Hope my son had a chance to meet Mac, in the eternity.
I don’t know if my son comment on this song right before he passed.

My dog just died a few hours ago. Loved him to bits. He looked a bit like Ralphie in this video actually. He was in a comatose state during his final days, and all I could imagine was him on his own little journey like this in his head. Such a peaceful song. RIP Mac, RIP Charlie and f**k paralysis ticks.

Still so fucking bummed out we won’t get to hear his music progress. He was only getting started. Truly the first famous person to pass away that really feels like a personal loss.

The fact that the dog is actually Ralphie makes this video 10 times better yet more painfull to watch.
The puppy is a metaphor for Mac always staying a kid at heart.
The number 3 that pops up several times signifies his 3 times relapsing or "falling."
His third time falling he lands on his bed peacefully and rides out into space after defeating the "giants" who represent this world and how many distractions it offers so we cant discover real inner peace.

The picture at the end with the two chairs is The Sanctuary studio in his house, where he made Watching Movies and most of, if not all of Faces. I drove by the old house a couple months back. It’s now a rehab and therapy facility. Warms my heart to see people getting the help they need in that house 💯🙏🏼

In 2018 I was diagnosed with colon cancer at age 21. I spent 29 days in the hospital, went through 4 surgeries, 3 blood transfusions, around 40 something staples, went without food for over a month, and currently live with a colostomy. I remember when I was in the hospital, basically just waiting to die, and my dad bought me a shirt with Mac Miller on it that said "No matter where life takes me, you'll find me with a smile." I wore it almost every day until I was fully recovered. That was 3 years ago. I remember hearing the news of his death, and I cried holding that shirt for what seemed like weeks. Mac was my inspiration, and his music gave me strength when I needed it the most. He was such a talented artist who touched the hearts of millions. I needed to hear this today. It always seems like Mac pops up and gives us strength when we feel like we're fighting a battle we can't win. RIP, brother. Much love

I was in an ATV accident in 2016 and broke my neck and am paralyzed from the chest down and “saw the light” and almost died due to complications. Not to mention over a dozen surgeries and hospitalizations since. I now have a colostomy too. I appreciated his music before that, but after it was there when I needed it most. That man is one of a kind and continues to live through us all. Stay strong and keep your eyes to the sky bro👊🏻

Mac is the one celebrity deaths that still bothers me to this day. He comes to mind frequently in the shower, driving when his songs come on, or late night washing dishes listening to him. We were the same age and I've been listening to him since "Kids". Watching him grow and change to his mature style in "Swimming" before he passed was a blessing. I still can't stand that he is gone. Its wild to me that someone I have never met could inspire and connect with me so much through his art. Hearing his old songs bring back vivid memories. I don't think I will ever forget Mac. The fact that new songs of him are being released is so deeply appreciated. RIP Mac.

The way the giants fall when the song says "fall" literally gives me goosebumps every time I watch this video
If swimming was his darkest hours and circles were his last days, this sounds like this is him in the afterlife. At peace with everything that has happened. It's crazy how this was on his earlier mixtapes
I trip out on that same thought. This and many other songs. "One last thing" from blue slide park. That shit give me chills. The tone. The frequency at which beat bangs. The sounds. What he says and when he says it. At the end when he says "I wanna go back home" that shit hit me like a ton of bricks I just picture macs energy out there his energy in a different plane wanting to come back to what he knew.
Faces is such a unique project and its as introspective as it gets. He was only 22 when this came out, what a tortured soul. He helped me through so much, forever greatful for Mac

I'm gonna scream
I find myself likening this to the countless fictional stories surrounding Laika, The Space Dog. This story revolves around Ralphie.. who was actually dog-napped from Malcolm in 2014. Ralphie was never found or returned to Malcolm. Ralphie was a main source of emotional inspiration not only for this song but for Faces as a whole.
With that said, Mac made a beautiful and touching dedication to one of the beings he loved most. Now that Mac is gone we have this timeless music to remember them both by. One way or another I just like to think that they are together again. The video perfectly shows what Mac must have gone through with losing Ralphie.
To me this is a visualization of how Ralphie was always running through Macs mind, lost in between everything else but always there... By the end of the video I like to think of it as the acceptance that Ralphie is gone, off somewhere seeing all that he can see as the real captain. That's the best thing that we could imagine.

I never get upset about celebrities deaths, maybe never felt connected to them. Until Mac... Watching this makes me emotional wishing he was here to see what he'd be doing and enjoying his life. He was clearly such a kind soul and you can see by the peers in the industry who he was connected with were real friendships (Thundercat, The Internet, Demarco, Schoolboy etc), not all this clout stuff that doesn't matter. He was such a fucking incredible down to earth artist, the landscape of his music was so far and wide. The impact he still has on many will be forever and he is truly one of a kind. I'm not able to have children, so I've just had animals as my children. My dogs been ill since Thanksgiving, and I'm not ready in the slightest to lose my boy. Some reason this song has always just been a comfort song to me since Faces came out, and to this day its still stands true. Even from the afterlife, this man continues to give me that small bit of hope and comfort. "It's okay, to not be okay."

wow, this video has got to be the most nostalgic video ever. it literally reminded me of my missing childhood memories. it brought back a comforting memory when i was a child reading the "i spy" books. what a legend

They saved my Soul, i grew up shitty and they were sent to save me. I seem to be the only one getting a weird vibe of the fact that they put out Faces- vinyls, CD's and merch now. He released this tape to be heard, not to be sold. If he had the intention to sell it while alive, he wouldn't have put it out for free. It's a fact I love about him. All those tracks, all the time and money he spent on it just for it to be free to listen to. I guess it still is, but.. c'mon now. Tell me I'm wrong.

This song man. It has always been my favorite song by Mac and this video every day I watch it makes me break down, reflect on my life and feelings. A couple years back I overdosed and when I woke up in the hospital this song was the first thing I thought about. The following lyrics were on repeat in my head based on what it was that I had experienced.

If it wasn’t for overdosing I would have never changed some of the biggest issues I had about me and in my lifestyle. Mac was such a blessing to me throughout my teenage years. I’m so fortunate for him and this masterpiece.
The passion that went into this video is incredible, such a touching, beautiful story that fits the legacy of a beautiful soul, this is how artists should be honored after their passing.
The first “celebrity” death that hit me like a truck. His music has made me happy, excited, and sad since 6th grade 2011/2012. I feel like there’s still so much more to explore with Faces and I hope this is just the beginning. May his soul rest in peace and I hope he’s in his paradise.

I play this song daily.. truly one of the most beautiful songs I’ve heard, “These puzzles are so hard to make into pictures Of something that they'll understand They could open their eyes, still be blind to the beauty” makes me tear up for some reason. The ending feels so surreal. The two chairs as if someone is still working on all of his music. I miss mac and he has inspired me and so many others. I sometimes think that the world would be different if he was still here but it was his time to go. Rest in paradise. Mac is still with us and he has plenty of music to share.
That’s a picture of the sanctuary in his house where he wrote and made most of if not all of Faces. I drove by the house couple months back. It’s now a rehabilitation and therapy facility. Warms my heart to see people getting the help they need in that house. 💯

Fuck man I remember when this first came out. I was such a young lost soul. This man saved my life so many times, a shoulder to lean on when I had no one else.
