- Hey everyone! Here is my video showing how to install mods for Bonelab. This video shows how to do it on your Quest 2 but the process is very similar for the PCVR version. PLEASE NOTE- these mods are still in very early stages as well as bonelab being in early stages (I have been finding a lot of bugs) and not all the mods will work for you. While making this video, I downloaded probably 20 different mods and only 40% of them worked. Hopefully with more time that will not be an issue. If you have any questions please comment them below. The file for me wasn’t Quest 2 some random one, so i spent 30 min trying to find Quest 2 I ended up finding the right file, great video.

external software can be used to run more powerful mods such as using melon or lemonloader to run cool mods like portal
are you still able to do this just with oculus air link?

my oculus is connected to the pc and it’s not showing up quest 2
you need a wire with usb file transfering for it to show up
guys if it doesn't show up do this: When you connect the cable with the quest 2 to your pc, make sure you have your quest 2 on and at the top of the screen (or bottom) there will be a notification that says "click on this to allow pc access to your quest 2 files" (or something similar) (if that doesn't pop up try to reconnect your usb and check the oculus quest 2 notification tab). After that you go to "this pc" on your pc and then right next to your pc storage will be your quest 2 (it should look like and android phone/tablet as the icon. And there you go, and after that is is pretty straight forward where you just go to the mods folder.

i get it to work the game loads i try to spawn a modded spannable in it don't appear I'm using pc and a quest so idk might be the new update?

I downloaded the 7 11 mode and when I try to load it it takes a long time and it doesn’t load. I’m on the quest 2 btw

when I plug my headset in a quest file in file explorer doesn't show up
I got it to work by copying the second folder into the mods directory. So instead of copying spidermanavatar-overhauled-quest folder into mods i copied the folder EmilS.SpiderManAvatar in that into the mods folder

Does this method work for other quest 2 games? Like Blade and sorcery
I haven’t personally tried it but I believe so.
i checked and there was nothing. i dont think blade and sorcery or blade and sorcery nomad is on it. might have missed it or something so i would still check. 👍

Make sure “usb dialog” is turned on in the system settings from within the headset.

I have Windows 11 try but i go on bonelab and i dont have it then files is a zip file but i tried to set Them inside of the folder can u help me
right click on the file and click extract, also just keep the files on your desktop so you don't gotta dig for them.
download the mod, the folder should be on your desktop, if not search for it and then hit extract all. that will unzip it.
what about the gore mods

That's nice of you to be helping him out with it. I don't have kids but I have 4 nephews and a niece who are over pretty much everyday and constantly have unusual tech problems they ask for me solve too. Hope you were able to get the mods working, also you (or your son) might want to check out a game called Downshot. It's a physics driven sandbox game like Bonelab, it's free in the quest store and it has a bunch of mods pre-installed. Here's a link to it's store page: www.meta.com/experiences/9166521666722742/

When I try to see my mods in bonelab it says bonelab content
when i open file explorer i don't see quest 2 on the side whilst having the quest plugged in and after choosing allow
I would try turning your Quest off and back on and then plug it back in. If that doesn’t fix it from within the headset go to system settings > developer > make sure USB Dialog is enabled. On a side note, when you do get it connected make sure there’s no additional folders within the mod folder after extracting it. Hope this helps!
i fixed it by trying to unplug and plug in again

I followed the instructions, i have the avatar names on the list, but when i press confirm on the avatar it does nothing but make a noise
That means that the file wasn't properly extracted and placed into the headset. Make sure after you extract the file, there is not another folder within that.
buy the way you don't have to sign in you can download mods with out signing in.
I can’t find the oculus section on my file explorer. Any tips?
Did you allow the connection from within the headset once it was plugged in? I know the newest update shows the allow message a little different then how it looks in this video. Now it's just a tab you click to accept.

Go to your notifications and click on it if it’s not popping up unplug it and plug it back in then allow and then let your pc read it and then boom
Okay so ive done this before. But when i added another mod now it wont even work. My game acts like i didnt just add 3 mods to it. Its still treating it as if nothongs changed
Make sure there isn’t a folder within the folder once extracted.
My Oculus folder is empty

Hi, I use a laptop and I’m 99% sure I’m doing the right thing. I’m trying to download the 110% save file and when I log on To bonelab I’m not to sure what to do. Do I need to keep the wire in while logging on? TIA
Once the file is dropped in you can disconnect the Quest from your computer but the save file doesn’t go in the mod folder, I believe there is a save folder a step before the mod folder that it goes into.

when i spawn something or load a modded map it just.. doesn't load in. i did everything right but this is just weird

theres no quest 2 file and I have allowed access plus dev mode is on
Try turning your headset off and back on then plugging it back in, sometimes I have to do that.

Ok so.. I managed to get everything in and when I go to mods on bonelab I can see what I downloaded on the installed mod menu but I can't spawn or seem to use the mod in game am I missing something?

At first I thought it was an issue with the mod itself but it’s happening more often then not so I’m going to look into tomorrow and I’ll update you then.

I think you might need that virtual desktop app he had on the App Library but it costs 15 pounds. I’ll go research it and update you when I find out

i did it but the mods were like broken the lightsaber mod did not work they did not spawn in
After extracting the folder, you have to open it and drag the folder within that to your mods folder. If you drag the folder without doing that it won’t work.
I don't get the allow files popup. So I don't see the Quest 2 thing in my folder.

What if the popup asking to allow access to files and stuff doesn't appear when I plug in my headset with the USB-C cable?
You probably don’t have USB connection turned on. From within the headset go to Settings > System > Developer > Turn on USB Connection Dialog.

Make sure the mod folder doesn’t have more folders in it that need to be taken out.
I added a weapon mod but it was invisible and nothing spawned in.
Make sure there is not a secondary folder within the extracted zip folder.

Yes, I believe there is a way using CX File Explorer on the quest, I have never personally done it though.
