My quick cover of Supernaut by Black Sabbath. I've had several requests for this song so I did this one after recording another video today.
Black Zeppelin. Apparently Bonzo had an affinity for this song and went by the studio when they were recording to jam on it, which according to Bill Ward, derailed their recording session for a bit. 😂 Zep and Sabbath jammed on at least one other occasion as well, playing through some original riffs, bluesy stuff....Robert and Geezer even started to write something together. Ward thinks it wasn't recorded, but Iommi says it was. It's not known where the tapes are, but maybe someday they'll surface. Iommi said Zep actually wanted to have Sabbath on Swan Song but it never panned out.
I can see why Bonzo liked this one, it's a hell of a riff/groove and it's got a lot of fast footwork! According to Ward, he was playing it with two bass drums, but Bonzo said "I'll play it with one!" The drum /percussion break is really a killer!

Bill Ward does not get enough attention that he deserves. I firmly believe that if the Sabbath had better production that he would have been given more attention. He is also overlooked for his percussion playing outside of the drum set
Bill Ward is such an underrated drummer. Just watch his live performance of War Pigs on RUclips . How he holds it all together is amazing.
So bad ass
From the Paris 1970 concert 🤙
To bad there is so little footage of him drumming
Underrated? 😂😂😂... Seriously?
@@anastasiosgraikos7135 Do you think he gets the credit he deserves? Afraid I have to disagree with you as I think he deserves much more credit than he gets but you are entitled to your opinion.
George playing a Sabbath tune on a stainless steel Ludwig kit made my saturday night
These fills are smooth as silk and heavy as a uranium bomb
You cover the creme de la crème of our heroes George! Sabbath almost invented a dance metal subgenre with it. Even Frank Zappa was impressed by that track.
Yes! I read that he loved it!
Dance metal 🤡
Bonzo loved this tune. So do I
As do I, so much so that my neighbors and I both listen to it. 😂
Great playing and selection, George. I've read this was Bonham's favorite Sabbath song.
Yes, apparently
Sabba Cadabra was a song Bonham wanted to play live with Bill's drumkit, but Bill didn't allow him because he was afraid for his cymbals 😀Supernaut was the Sabbath's song preferred by Frank Zappa
@@andreatarsi1379 Somewhere there's a short vid of Zappa talking about a near miss of playing Supernaut with Sabbath live.
Great job as always. I like the Bonhamesque fills you inserted while keeping the integrity of Ward's parts. Another Sabbath track that displays Ward's built-in swing and funkiness is A National Acrobat. I bet Bonzo must have dug that one too.
Thanks George for throwing the spotlight on Bill Ward, an absolute monster of a drummer, who deserves way more focus on RUclips than there currently is. Flawless performance as always. 🔥🔥🔥
The extended ending, the flawless fills, you didn't miss a thing! Great work on this iconic song. Bravo George!
Well done my friend very well done
What fun!!!
Dude I love these covers of other drummers!!! While bonham is my absolute favorite, it’d be awesome to see more of these covering Ward, Paice etc!!!!!
Hohoho George rattles those pots and pans again! 👊💥more sabbath covers please 🙏🏻 Bill Ward was up there with the best. Can I request Sabotage ?
Fantastic as always George. You should be up there sitting on the throne of a supergroup somewhere!
I’ve just watched The Who playing “A Quick one (While he’s Away)”
How about you getting another bass drum and a few more drums and replicating Moonie? You can get rid of your hats and ride cymbal. Love to see that!
I'm a young 59 lol, playing since age 12. My 2 favorite bands of all time is Zeppelin and Sabbath. Always searched for a connection between the 2 but never found it. A year ago I found a Bill Ward interview talking about Bonzo. Had no clue they were even friends. That blew my mind. And reading down this thread that this was Bonzos favorite Sabbath song, that blows my mind as well. Had no idea. Wild..
Amazing George Fludas. You done it once again. An amazing drum cover by the mighty Sabbath. Fun fact this was John Bonham's favorite song to jam out with. Don't know of there is a recording of him playing but it is awesome.
Yes, he loved this song and jamming with them playing it, however, there is no known recording
@@BONHAMOLOGY that would be so cool if there was a recording of him jamming out to Supernaut. Although listening to Paul McCartney and Wings. Beware My Love John Bonham just plays an awesome drumming. Amazing. Hope to see you play that next cover Mr George Fludas 😁👍🏼🤘🏼🥁🥁🥁
Thank you George, love Sabbath and the drumming of Bill Ward, you have a remarkable ability to play very much what you hear and that is a gift. Bless you for sharing it with us.
Thanks so much! 🙏🏼
Kick ass!!! mate!
Dam you got such smooth strokes when you play, your whole body is perfectly connected within the fluid motion
Thanks, I appreciate that
Now your talking brother.. Bill Ward was BA.. Would love to see you tackle the Wizard one day!

You should try a few tracks from Never Say Die. A great drumming album
Thanks. I already did Never Say Die a few weeks ago. I love that album.

Fantastic George, love this song.

Bill Ward is one of my favorites after Bonzo and Neil. You did a fine job on this one. I've never been able to get through that break and do it right.

What a great way to start the day with another kick-ass cover by Geo!
One of my favorite Bill Ward tracks. Great job!
Awesome . Thanks for sharing this amazing performance
Great job George, that was really kickin' it. That kit sounds so great as does your drumming skill.
Thanks a lot!
Keep them coming brother 🍻
Yes! Great tune and great drumming as always!
That was great! Hope you do some more Sabbath covers, after watching this I had to go knock the dust off my ole kit! Thank you!!

Holy.. great cover, man! You got that groove!
That's an awesome job my friend great drummer.
Phenomenal performance. You should do a cover or Symptom of the Universe next!
Really good!
I love this song! GREAT job George!! Amazing kit too! How about "Rat Salad"!
Nice George! Great to see you covering other drummers. I'm a 65 yr old drummer & was as influenced by Ian Paice & Bill Ward (I was fortunate enough to meet both) just as much as the great Bonzo. Thank you for sharing this!!
Fantastic!
Wardology
I was listening to iv in the car yesterday and thought I wonder if George will ever oblige my/our request. Thanks!
👌great!!
EXXXXXXXXCELLLENT!!
This is great thanks
Bonzo’s favourite Sabbath song 😉
Superb. Tomorrow's Dream?
🤘
Time for some Hendrix goodness👍
Best sabbath song
So who’s the betta drummer ? Bonzo or Billy Ward ?? Great set and cover as always 🥃 🥁 👌🏽
Good beat
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Great as always George!
What mic did you use this Time on the snare?
Is this Unidyne?
Great playing man I love watching all of your videos people I think under rank the greatest of Bill Ward but you don’t
Aw fuck yea! Can you do symptom of the universe?
❤❤❤
Please do a cover of Fire by Mitch Mitchell.
Yes then Jorge
I was hoping you were gonna cut in with the percussion track like you’ve done before 😁
😂👍🏼
Can you cover Neon Knights or Heaven and Hell from the RJD era Sabbath?
I've been watching most of your videos and like them all learning a few things so thank you. Have you tried playing this same song by 1000 Homo DJs? It's very intense.
John Bonham , Bill Ward, Ian Paice , and Cozy Powell. The Best
Hey George, good stuff!
Have you ever checked out Jazz Sabbath? They do Sabbath songs in a jazz format. Really cool!
Yes, I have seen a couple of their videos, it is a fun concept.
@@BONHAMOLOGY Actually Jazz Sabbath existed before Black Sabbath. What happened is Black Sabbath stole the songs from Jazz Sabbath. The greatest rock'n'roll swindle of all, methinks.
Merry fucking Christmas 🤘🥁🎄
Those Ludwigs rock.
Motorhead next George
Sometimes when I'm listening to Hendrix I'll think of the jam sessions he's played in heaven. More particularly, the ones where Verne Troyer shows up and wails on a harmonica until daybreak. Jimi says it's groovy, but Miles Davis rarely appears to be amused. Not with the music, anyway.
Ha, great!
More bass drum in the mix pls.
fuck yeaaaaaah
The Only Bonham Recording you haven't covered yet on the Channel is the Rockestra Theme
I dare you to cover Angie by the stones lol. Whats your opinion on charlie watts? Very curious
hey Alex, I like Charlie. Great feel and sound, that's what counts...and he grooved!
@BONHAMOLOGY couldnt agree more. Its funny i notice a lot of parallels between charlie and bonham, both have really tasteful jazz influenced snare technique. Even though theyre obviously very different drummers
We should be friends already George. What’s wrong with this world? I wish this technology was available to me 40yrs ago.😂
Ironic that Bonham is often labeled as a heavy hitter, but if you watch the vids its always Ward bashing the hell out of everything.
@@PMurray2694 Could it be you're not familiar with the English language? Here's the definition of irony "Incongruity between what might be expected and what actually occurs"
2002s all-around?!
Yes, T. Except the 18 602 on my far right!
Outanding George! More Sabbath please! Die Young or Loner maybe? If there was a Hall of Fame for RUclips you would be in it
Thanks!
Man, that Supraphonic!
