I have been in my salon for almost 5 years with this unit. I’m just learning the difference between the heat and the ac icon. Thankfully, I’m in SC so I keep it on a moderate number. Every season I have battled with this thing. I’m glad I’m not the only one.
I’m not joking but I have been using this ac for more than 15 years and I swear to god i had no idea that the remote control have this many options and can be used so easily. Thank you for this great tutorial I actually enjoyed it.👍🏼
@letty6410, I had to chuckle at your comment. We have had ours for about 9 years and are in the same boat as you. This is in fact a wonderful easy to follow tutorial. The remote has been a source of frustration the entire time we have had this unit. For some reason this info just will not stay in my head but liked and subscribed I got it at my fingertips the next time I go mind numb.
@@simpleminded5215our whole house AC stopped working and we have a small unit in our bedroom, I have been using it on FAN mode the entire time and I’m desperate for cooling as it’s 106 degrees outside. 3 years later I look up a tutorial 😂
I had the Mitsibishi split installed several years ago, and really couldnt figure out how to control it until i watched your video six months later. The sun and the snowflake look so much alike and there is that delay between programming it and it deciding to obey that you think it isnt responding. So, every season change, i find your video and watch it again. Your gift to us of this incredibly clear and comprehensive tutorial is truly the gift that keeps on giving. THANK YOU!
This video is the amongst some of the most important video recordings on the internet. Every season, I come back to this video for this bloody remote, lol. Thank you, Mike.
Manufacturers & installers: this is how you teach customers how to operate your devices. Sure, the user manual is helpful, but a video walkthru with an instructor as clear & precise as Mike is a much more effective instructional. "Monkey see... monkey do." THE most effective training mode...
The batteries of my controller have come to an end , first thing I have done is going to the Mitsubitshi web to get the instructions manual. It lacks so many important info , at least in my home language , that I have had to look for tutorials on you tube. There are a few of them but nothing as GOOD and complete as this video. 35 degrees outside today made me freak out until I found this . Thanks from the bottom of my heart
Hands down the most useful thing I've seen on RUclips in 20+ years. Staying in a hotel (why do hotel climate control units never make intuitive sense??) with one of these units and remotes. Was totally flummoxed. After this video, I'm looking at a good night of sleep!
What a lifesaver. I thought my batteries had gone bad. Only clock time was up. I changed to new batteries and nothing changed. I was furious at Duracell. Now I understand what settings mean. I had figured out max fan and usually ran in that mode. Now the vane was closed and no air. Your video saved my butt and know sir is working. This has been a marvelous unit for 5 years. Now I no longer am afraid if buttons get pushed and I have to randomly push buttons until I get it running. You were very concise and gave clear understanding of how this once mysterious remote works. Any one getting this unit should be given you video to watch. Thanks again.
Just moved in our new home and we took 10 minutes strait standing in front of the heaters beeping away which then resulted in an argument 😂 i Stg if I can’t figure out how to turn the f ing heat on. 🤬🤬🤬😭 thank you for this video it lookes detailed hopefully it shows me lol. Update: THAAAANKK YOUUUUU. The way you explained it was done sooooo well. Thank you!
Thank you so much for this. I’m at an air bnb and it’s 23 degrees outside and we had no heat (my fault for it knowing how to operate this)! You’re a lifesaver!
This is the best video for the worst remote interface. I color coded the MODE values on left side: green=auto, blue=cool, orange=dry, red=warm I also did them on the back side since the colors fade.
I would be embarrassed to be an engineer responsible for the choice of heat or cool icons on this remote because it is difficult to detect whether the "round" thing is a snowflake or a sun, if the lighting it not sufficient. There should be two completely different shapes, e.g. flame for heat and snowflake for cool, as they implemented in the Kumo Cloud app for units with the wifi feature added.
You sound like you're from Boston❤. I am too. Anyhow my house was freezing inside. Those icons on the remote are very strange. Then I played your excellent video a few times and took notes. Now I'm cozy and happy. Many thanks, Mike.
This is one of the best instructional videos I’ve watched on ANYTHING! It’s so well stepped out, so informative and really well explained. Thank you, I’m going to get a lot more out of my air con now!
In the Netherlands we don’t need any airconditioning. It’s August but the temperature is below 20C Celsius. Now we are in holiday and it’s too hot during the night and we didn’t know how this equipment works. Your instruction worked a lot. Thank you!
Have watched this So many times --- video is super clear and helpful!! (Boston accent is a plus - generates total trust and confidence that the person speaking know what he's talking about!!)
Thank god I found this video along with the intermediate one. This remote was not easy to figure out AT ALL and traveling to a foreign country made it worse as I could not explain what I needed to know.....! Now I won't freeze tonight!
Theres also a button on the side of the ductless ac/heater that overrides everything and shuts it off or on. Whatever mode it was in last will start again if you if you use that button.
Just moved into a new place that has an AC and was unsure of how to use the remote. Very easy explanation. All good now and cooling off in the aussie heat.
Seriously, one of the most useful videos ever! You explain it excellent and I can finally operate the unit at my work place because nobody knows how to use it. Thank you!!!
Why didn't you simply go to Mitsubishi's web site and download the instructions??? It took me 3 minutes to find and learn the operation of this remote.🤷♂️

Much appreciated the level of communication and instructions for using these remotes. Especially with the high temps this weekend and being new to all this technology. 👍

Is there a video that shows how to set up the system optimally? Curious to learn how to set controls for best efficiency and for best operation by season.
What if I want the mode set to auto but just want the cool function? Or is that not possible? Having the unit switch from AC to Heating during the summer doesn't sound efficient, but I'm no expert so idk😭
Fantastic explanation. I have just moved into a Unit with this brand air con., but no manual provided. So I can now use the remote control..... Thank you.
