      Agreed. The ice looked at least 3 to 4 inches thick judging by the cracks, which is enough to safely support an adult human. In addition, the video shows the ice supporting two separate red ice fishing shelters, presumably with people and equipment inside.

    The ice will freeze clear like this if it cools down and solidifies slow enough to allow any dissolved air to escape the water before it turns to ice. The large bubbles frozen into the ice from underneath are from methane gas that floats up from decaying matter on the bottom.

In 2015 a whole lot of boats got stuck in the ice, Coast Guard had to use several ice breakers to get them loose. 4 or 5 in one row around Two Harbors, MN.😊

    • @SP-io7lj
      @SP-io7lj 7 месяцев назад +2

      Nope! The water only freezes close to shore - not in the area where ships are. This happens every year and you can walk to the caves in the upper areas of Lake Superior. People in Minnesota go ice fishing on Lake Superior during this time each year. Also, As it gets deeper into the season, you can see the most beautiful ice formations as the ice is pushed from the outer edges to the sure and the ice gets deeper, due to the currents. It is the most stunning thing you will ever see.
