Leaks show pictures of a Haslab Ecto-1. Not too many details, but looks like it will have lights, parts to switch between Ecto-1 and Ecto-1A, GB2 figures including Louis Tully, and 2 ghosts (Slimer and Librarian ghost). Not too many other details on price, scale, or tiers.
Big ghostbusters fan but won’t be backing this if it’s an ecto 1. Don’t have the room for a massive car and also there have been lots of versions of the ecto 1 in times gone by. The proton pack and trap etc were unique in official merchandise. Good luck to those that back it but this might not be a slam dunk in my opinion
$350 is my max. I don’t need lights and sounds. Everything I have with lights and sounds is great day 1 and is never used again. 66 Batmobile, BTTF Delorean and the Ecto-1 1984 are my 3 favorite vehicles. And this is the last 6in scale vehicle to complete my collection in this scale
Not interested in a haslab Ecto. And Mondo’s Real GB has priced me out. I’m hoping someone picks up Extreme GB and does them right, even if it’s Mondo I would be sold! 😋
Now seeing the leaked pics it looks amazing, but I really want to hold my funds for RGB as the cartoon means so much to me. That said, I really hope Mondo down the line does a cartoon Ecto-1 for their figures too.
I don’t understand MOTU fans desire for the same characters in the vintage style over and over and over. Is New Eternia Zodac really that different than a vintage style? I don’t fault Mattel because for unknown reasons fans want the same thing several times over.
I'm not sure if it's the fans asking for it or the fans just taking what Mattel offers. With how cheap a lot of Masterverse ends up going, it's hard to imagine they can keep it going by relying on the same handful of characters over & over. What I find disappointing about this Vintage Collection thing is that if they had that planned, they could have gone a lot crazier with the New Eternia designs. Word is they're doing a "Sketchbook Series" in Origins that will be based more strictly on the concept art, which is what I wanted from New Eternia from the beginning. It's kind of a slight of hand by Mattel- release something that's 90% what fans want, then once we all buy it, release the 100% version. They've done the same thing with the Cartoon line, lots of people probably wanted those designs from the start, but never thought the line would survive long enough to get any/all characters in that style. As for me, I'm considering ditching my New Eternia collection in the hope that the Origins Sketchbook Series goes the distance & we get a whole lineup of unique concept art style versions of the characters. I'm way more invested in Origins anyway, and Demo-Man is basically the concept art version of Skeletor, so I'm hopeful they go that route.
Kenner rgb origins remastered. Kenner remastered ecto 1 and remastered origins Kenner rgb as a tier. Teir 2 swap out roof rack and doors. Gb 1 doors and gb2 doors. Maybe frozen empire swap out red lights and swappable hood with the red stripes.
Watching the recording now, but I think the most mind-blowing thing Hasbro could do is make the Ecto-1 size -flexible enough to fit the new Mondo figures. *And* have those figures in a shared display with Mondo. Toy company collaboration and everyone wins!
