It’s a learning process that never seems to end. New equipment just brings new problems, but never the less, don’t stop learning. Finish the race no matter how long it takes you. Your sons are doing a great job. There’s no glamour in farming or any skilled trade for that matter. What there is, is respect and a good strong hand shake with confidence. Be safe and strong. God Bless!
Love your videos!! I started watching last year and after watching those in-line balers work, I have decided that my next baler will be the Massey in-line baler.
Awesome! We had hiccups with it initially because it was so much more simple than the last baler I worked on with my dad. I over complicated it! The baler is the bomb! And to add, our issues were more... User error, hah!
I'm so glad your still posting, I hope it's therapeutic for you and your family :) And I'm so happy you have friends to help when you don't know how to fix something :)
We really are enjoying making these videos to share with all of you! We would be lost without all of the friends and RUclips family that have helped us so far this season!
This is the second time i have watched. Here is some information on keeping the square bails from getting hot in the barn I get loss trace mineral and sprinkle it over every layer of hay . It will help it cure with out molding or burning . I do that every time. It's something livestock needs anyway and it's not expensive. A 50 pound bag will last me several years. I don't put up that many square bails anymore. But works. And live stock loves the hay .😊 God bless ya'll.
Honestly, I personally hear and see enough negative at work being a dispatcher for Emergency Services and 911 call taker. I know many officers and EMS see it also. This is therapy and mind clearing to watch. I admire, and support the strong bond to continue where things where left off with just the knowledge of before. I know Scott knew a lot on the entire process, and its tuff to move along not knowing as much. Scott also gave a bit of advice with my land which is just as difficult as y'alls'. Being sorta new with the hay aspect, I'm happy learning for others mistakes to know what not to do and/or pay attention too. I'm glad to see the entire family pull together and the hard work. Im sure Scott is looking down proud at whats being accomplished, and yalls way of life contuing on without out him there physically any longer.
@@NorthTexasHay Im sure he is looking down proud. Im just as sure Scott is around helping in his own ways too without you noticing. Maybe teasing and testing yall too.
Love it guys, I’m sure yawl might have fused a few times behind the scenes when things weren’t going rite but that’s ok. It just shows everyone wants to get it done and done rite. Emotions!!!!! Scott is so proud of his family!!!! Keep hard at it guys!!! Just remember farming ain’t for sissy’s or yuppies!!! Love this saying and hopefully yawl can use it to get thru a hard day!! “ TOUGH TIMES DONT LAST BUT TOUGH PEOPLE DO”.
Don't ever feel bad that you have high moisture, just the nature of hay sometimes. We used "salt" to help dry our square bales, it does work. No such thing as over cautious either. As someone mentioned, Scott made that claw look easy but, in reality, it's not. Practice and patience, main thing is patience. We made our square bales weight roughly 100 lbs. and of course, we loaded trucks by hand. Take a chain, with the gate open on the round baler, tie the chain around the tensioner bars for the belts, close or lower the gate, this will allow you to release the tension off the belts. Won't have to separate the belt to flip it back to it's correct side. Great video as always. Keep your chin up, this all apart of farming period. Cheers :)
I know it is very hard now but every problem makes you more intimate with the equipment and soon you will learn what to analyze and adjust prior to hitting the field and eventually the unplanned breakdowns should diminish. I am still enjoying your videos and am glad you are making them and you about make this old guy cry tears of sympathy watching your struggles.
Though the days can be rough and sometimes we get irritated with one another... Or them irritated with me more commonly, we end the day that much stronger as a family

Thank you! Cody is doing great at using the claw and will just get better and better with practice. We are very proud of him for taking on the task of learning it!
You are doing great hang in there, it’s a learning curve for the rest of them.

More than happy to help out. Keep up the great job!
I owe you a steak dinner, Keenan. Thank you so very much.
I am so proud of you Kim! You are handling your full plate like a pro. Everything looks so good. Everytime I see that New Holland with the claw on it, I expect to see Scott come crawling down out of it- I really miss him, as I know you do. I'm sending my love & support your way, hun, so proud of ya....
Thank you for the kind words and thought
Thank you, Belinda. I miss him every day. Big hugs!!!!
Great family work ethic and sticktoitiveness.
I like it! Sticktoitiveness.
I'll use that instead of my normal, "whattheheckdidwegetourselvesintoit...vness!"
Haha
Great clip. Every day is a new experience and something learned. Keep moving forward !!
It's a crash course in working on the equipment, but we aren't getting discouraged.
@@NorthTexasHay You guys have got this. You will get it figured out for sure. I don't see anything holding guys back. You have overcame everything they are throwing at you. Awesome job!!
Hi Kim , good to see you are still busy. I am a long time subscriber and LOVE watching your videos. I have ( i think) seen all of your videos. Cant wait to see the next few. Hey i hope you didnt get caught in that winter storm that blew through Texas. That was a doozie. Take care , and all the best from Ontario , Canada.
Great job y'all are doing!! Life is like a big rollercoaster ride, all ups and downs. With a few twists. Hang in there. Love the videos hope you keep them coming, will be watching. Wish I could help out. Did a lot of hay myself but by hand no accumulater or grapple.
We will keep the videos coming, Jerry. Thanks.
I have to say SCOTT was a very good teacher, you all appear to be getting the just of this. the old saying , "if it was that easy , everyone would be doing it " great job all !
I spent many hours with Scott while he worked handing tools and holding things. I'm so glad I did. And the saying is so true. Thanks, John.
These videos came up as a suggested last week and i cant put my finger on it but i must have watched about 20 of last years videos since but its a fun watch. Sorry for your loss with your husband he seemed like a fun character. Keep up the good work.
He was the BEST. Thanks, Pat.
North Texas Hay,
Love the videos, I am at the other end of the country only can give you moral support, It is super great to see a family working together on the farm. Great that you have great farm folks that can help in a pinch. I wish I could jump in the video and help when thing go wrong. That must be that old farm boy in me coming out. Again it doze ones Hart good seeing the family working together on the farm.
Take care work safe with that equipment.
Richard
We are being safe. Thank you, Richard.
God Bless!
So true, Matthew. Thank you.
Great job! Scott would be very proud
Thank you
Great job you always have bumps and just got to keep going.
again y’all done a great job keep it up
Push through!
Good job everybody. It will get easier as you go.
I think so too. I'm already getting more familiar and less intimidated with the equipment. Thanks, Gary.
i miss y’all. hoping you are doing well god bless you
Props to you your doing a great job keep up what your doing it'll all pay off in the long run
Thanks, Mark.
I'm so glad your still posting, I hope it's therapeutic for you and your family :) And I'm so happy you have friends to help when you don't know how to fix something :)
We really are enjoying making these videos to share with all of you! We would be lost without all of the friends and RUclips family that have helped us so far this season!
Good job guys. Farming its not easy but someone has to do it!
So true. Thanks.
This is the second time i have watched. Here is some information on keeping the square bails from getting hot in the barn
I get loss trace mineral and sprinkle it over every layer of hay .
It will help it cure with out molding or burning . I do that every time.
It's something livestock needs anyway and it's not expensive. A 50 pound bag will last me several years. I don't put up that many square bails anymore. But works.
And live stock loves the hay .😊
God bless ya'll.
That's a new one, thanks!
@@treyatnorthtexashay4603 been doing that for fifty years. My Dad and his Dad did and I Amish that salt there hay to .
You all are doing a good job, keep it up. Great video.
Thanks, Alan. Means a lot.
Look at that round bale you made! Beautiful!
Jennifer Robinson Thank you, sweet friend. I did it with the help of both of you.
I sure Dad is Proud of hole family !!! Working together .
Thanks, Robert.
Thank you, Brandon. I definitely don't know as much as Scott did, but I picked up more than I realized. We hope we are making him proud.
@@NorthTexasHay Im sure he is looking down proud. Im just as sure Scott is around helping in his own ways too without you noticing. Maybe teasing and testing yall too.
Y’all are doing an awesome job out there. You look like pros. Keep up the good work. Thanks for the video. 👍👍👍❤️
Thanks, Don!
I love it! Thanks, Aaron.
Cheers :)
Thanks for your advice and tips. Noted and much appreciated.
I'm hanging in there. As you said, it makes me more intimate with each piece of equipment. It's a crash course; that's for sure.
Hard work + Family + Long days = Respect. Keep up the hard work folks.
Though the days can be rough and sometimes we get irritated with one another... Or them irritated with me more commonly, we end the day that much stronger as a family
its just start up troubles everyone goes thru them you guys will get it worked out and things will get smoother. keep up the good work we believe in you
Thanks!
Well done, good to see you working out the problem's as they pop up and you lean to fix them , so if happen's again you can fix it quick with out to much down time.
Keep up the good work Kim and family
Cheers Glynn
Thank you, Glynn. I'm getting more familiar with the equipment every day.
Love u guys. What an inspiration y'all are.
Thank you!
