Suggestion: Why not suggest a section for mini or bean bonsai trees. In Japan they have a big show specifically for mini or bean bonsai trees. This way, trees can be displayed so that people with small spaces can see them and do bonsai also, in a mini state. You have some nice mini’s for just that section. You will inspire small living space observers to do bonsai.
Really enjoyed seeing you selecting trees ready for the show. Some year I'd love to come over and visit the show! Won't be this year though unfortunately...
hi, Nigel! you have some nice trees this year. i put my vote behind the serissa, the lemon tree, the cedar clump style, and the spirit tree. looking forward to see what you pick!
I also think your temple is a great contender, especially with it crumbling, it would possibly be an entirely different planting even by next fall. Everyone will be fascinated by it, you've done something incredible with that one. If I had a passport I'd come up to check it out even.
Out of these my choice is simple, the serissa or Norfolk Island pine planting👌🏻 Or your Brazilian rain tree, that’s a favorite of mine as well, but it wasn’t in the video
I have debated getting a Norfolk pine to play with. I like the forest idea for those trees. Do you ever collect wild trees? There are some really cool spots up highway 11 if you ever want to go hunting.
Hey Nigel, Hey Bonsai friends. Does anyone have a calendar with a nice overview, when to do what ? I have seen a lot of RUclips videos on the topic, but its so much knowledge i would like to a have rough guideline. Thanks in advance :)

So exciting to see your selection process. The temple is just astounding - I can’t believe how well it has developed, it’s a great composition.
The Norfolk Island pine planting is spectacular.
The spruce is lovely.
The willow leaf ficus has a wonderfully shaped canopy, well done. And that serissa is looking amazing as always. Well done. Good luck for the show.
I would love to see the Norfolk Island Pine in the show. Really bring the Antipodean feel to the place!!

The Vietnam-style Microcarpa is beautiful, extremely interesting to look at. it has my vote.
