On the off chance you haven't discovered it, the "Greying" option for the hair isn't just for greying - you can tint the hair with another color, making a deeper black, or brighter white or whatever else.
Also really useful if you want your drow to have darker color eyebrows
it technically works as highlights

@@TheMeta141 There's highlights as well. Greying will go from the roots while highlights will go from the ends. Intensity will control how far it has spread across the hair

Let’s face it: All of us are going to spend our first 3 hours of Baldur's Gate 3 on character creation.
I would say that would be true if they had added in-depth body/face-sculpting tools.
But instead there's only a few premade body/face shapes you can choose from.
I spent a good amount trying to make my dnd character and it worked pretty well so ur not wrong on my end lol
no..................we just decided we didn't want the character we made so scrapped 10 or so hours of work and started again

You can always tell a D&D player by how they talk about their characters as if they are real people. This got me and my friends in trouble at a previous job when someone overheard us talking about our characters and thought we had witnessed an actual murder.

A full let's play series of you just enjoying the game naturally. No chat influencing decisions or trying to go fast to get videos up regularly. Just record hours upon hours of your natural experience and put them up as you go.

I'm afraid to ask... since the first random generation was already pretty close to her appearance, I kinda made Penelope as my guardian because I didn't know it was going to be important, and I thought it would be funny to have Ginny's adorable little Barbarian be the one looking after my massive green Dragonborn barbarian's brains - is that going to get awkward for me later?
@@danielmclellan1522 at the risk of sounding cryptic I’ll say this, the humor comes from the fact that this choice doesn’t really matter, so I wouldn’t worry too much about it. Just let it pan out and you’ll see. Let’s just say that the guardian may not always be 100% honest with you. I can’t really elaborate without spoiling it so I’ll leave it there lol

I love the character creation in BG3 but, I have to admit, I would have loved to see sliders for facial structures as well. That would have been amazing to customize our characters even more to how we envision them.
I would loooove to see you actually play the game for the first time. Individuals like yourself, passionate about DnD, roleplay and storytelling, are simply a joy to watch discover this gem of a game. Joining you on that adventure would be an absolute honor and a privilege! There's a good chance they will! They added a lot more customization options to their prev. game Divinity Original Sin 2 as a free update/DLC. And BG3 is SOOOO much more popular. I have faith!
@@gc6240I wouldn't be surprised if it coincides with the ability to officially change your character's appearance mid-game. That would be a great time to release new customization options as well
i don't really have time to watch full let's plays (especially of a game like bg3 which is ENORMOUS) but when people cut together fun pieces from their playthroughs (either to create a cohesive story without a lot of the running around and minor encounters; or just a mish mash of stuff) i really, really love it! it's soooo much editing work so i get why it's not as popular or attainable, but realistically that's the kind of video i'd sit down to watch all the way through. i think it'd be really interesting to see you roleplay your way through the game, since i think a lot of other popular streamers probably don't focus on the rp- and character-side of things as much!

6:23 Oh thank goodness, it's not just me! I feel like i end up defaulting to Outlander or Far Wanderer for so many of my characters, because "They've travelled a long way from home" is how most adventurers seem to start out!
In defense of the Outlander background, it's honestly one of the more consistently useful backgrounds in 5e.
Ginny actually has a Gnome Barbarian, I love everything about that.
I made a Half Orc Monk named, Woe Souli. Basically half wood elf and half orc. His journey is to temper his violent orc nature through his way of the 4 elements monk practice. He has taken a liking to Lae'zel for her direct and forceful nature. Seeing a lot of himself in her but driven with a purpose. No spoilers but for my character or perhaps me as the player can see her conviction may have consequences that Woe Souli would want to steer her away from.
Also, can't wait to her how your BG3 adventure goes. I have so many cool moments already and I only just got to act 2.
I also made a half orc (half elf even tho it's not possible in game but who cares) she's a storm sorceress and my companion is Astarion and we're both evil mfkers >:)

I think seeing you play it and giving insight into things you like for home game use would be fun. Probably not breaking new ground, but you're a respected creator and commentator on how to run table sessions. Additionally, seeing your genuine reactions to each of the Acts and how you personally navigate them would be fun. It's really a totally different game for different people.
I think an edited summary of your adventure could be really fun! Like retelling a tabletop session, but with game fotage to support the retelling. Maybe give it a 15-20 minute video about the opening area and start of act 1, then see how it performs? You could even VA one of your original characters! 🤓
I love how so far my characters have either been recreations of funny cast from various dnd shorts or videos or the most egregious looking abomination possible with the most normal looking companion or vise versa
BG3 is showing all the freedom and fun you can have in D&D, so do a whole playthrough with darkness, shadows and light and show it! Of course we need explosions, jumps, lovestories, all the good stuff ;-)
Now we need a mod that can import data from the Epic / unreal engine face capture to drop into the character creator so your in game character can have your real life face.
I'm absolutley the kind of person that spends hours in character creation using it like a dollmaker, it was so fun to watch you bring your characters to life in this style!
I liked that you selected spells and abilities based on your character instead of thinking ahead of what would be the best to power through the game itself. Makes it more fun and interesting.
Looking forward to some playthroughs with your iconic characters here AND how they react/interact with the BG3 characters. Na'Krasha and Karlach team up!
I know it took Ginny a long time to make those characters, but this has probably been my favorite video of hers (and I love the music videos). It's the same Critical Role effect where you have people who create D&D characters and suddenly they come to life in an animated way. Very cool. Would love to see some gameplay and whether Ginny makes choices based on her character or based on not dying in Baulder's Gate.

Would love to see a video about what you can take from BG3 back to your table! Myself, I've been playing a sorcerer and I've been casting Friends left and right, it's helped me realize how valuable utility spells and non-combat casting can be, and I'm looking forward to bringing some of that to my next session!
This is SO fun to watch! I think the main reason I haven't tiptoed into BG is because I know I'd get stuck at the character creation!

Mods are great! For more hair options there is Tav's Hairsalon i think is the name~ there are also mods to add more face types
That’s cool, I’m gonna do it the other way around. I just got into D&D because of Baldur’s Gate 3 and last night I built my first character (woodelf, ranger) and now I want to build him in real life D&D as well and see which one performs better in his adventures 😂

I would like to see you create maybe a new character or one we haven't seen in game. Play it for a while as you develop any story for them than do an IRL costume for that character.

This video holds a special place in my heart, even if only by default, but I'm still crediting you with saving my sanity. For the last two weeks or so I've been watching RUclips videos where some I could hear just fine, but others it sounded like I was going deaf, or the volume was on the lowest setting next to mute or close to the lowest setting. I thought I might need to replace my headphones, but they worked fine depending on what I was listening. I had also wondered if I'd accidently lowered one of the volume controls on my laptop. So, finally I'm watching this video today and I try hovering over the video and turning up the volume of this video. My RUclips videos in general volume. And now of course I can hear things clear as day. So, for what it's worth, Thank you. Just to prove I was paying attention my favorite part of your video was the fact that you couldn't give Augury a bird skull amulet, but you could give her bird skull earrings.

I spent 2 hours making my Eladrin Druid (Had to settle with using the High Elf…💔) D&D character in BG3. Made me so happy to see her come to life. 😊

I am a DM with BG3. After watching this, I went and did the same for my group's 5 PCs. I was annoyed there was no soul patch goatee for the Barbarian or the limited scarring option for the Necromancer's face.
This is exactly how I will be using this game once I get it.

Love the video 😍 But I had similar problems with trying to recreate my actual DnD characters in the creator aka Doll Maker.. but Larian failed me on trying to recreate the long wavy messy knee-lenght bottlegreen hair of my Spring Eladrin Elf Sorceress Eleonora 😅😅😅 but I had fun trying anyways :D
I'd love a disscusion about the magic itms the game gives you, because they feel like far more incramental power ups than the ones from the DMG and the PHB

OMG, I did the same thing with my dream Guardian. I ran my Halfling Thief Bean, and mad her dream Guardian modeled after Halete, her enby Beau. I really like that you can make the dream Guardian like that.
The way I stood up and CHEERED when Na'Krasha and Elliwyn were confirmed.
My first BG3 character was my dnd character I currently play in partner's homebrew that's a Tiefling rogue. It's a lot of fun having 2 ways to play the same character and play about with roleplaying ideas. The whole idea that it's alt realties is fun for me.
To make hair True White or Black you need to click on the "Grey" buttons... chose the appropriate color and then MAX that slider bar.
You'll see how it automatically darkens (or lightens) the color to be more of a True White/Black instead of a washed out grey variant
(Edit: I'm referring to the extra options below the main color)
Would love to see you bring a group together for a full playthrough, so many groups I've started watching haven't even gotten back together to finish Act I let alone get to all the amazing content in Acts II and III.
Please make bg3 content, if for no other reason than to trick yourself into having the time to enjoy the game. It's so good! I would totally be down to watch a playthrough of it cuz as a DM I've often watched your vids wondered "what kind of stuff does she try to pull off at her table?"

I played dnd for 10 years now, I created hundreds of PC's as a player and even more NPC's as DM.
Still when I had to creat my PC in BG3 I spent like 2 hrs and a half trying different combinations.
Glad the menu saved the aspect and class of a PC if you switch to another race.
no time to wait for the modding community to make character creation what you want. play as ellowyn^^

Glad I'm not the only one who plays with character creators like dressup games. Gotta add Tav's Hair Salon, Dyes!Dyes!Dyes!, and Purchasable Camp Clothes & Underwear mods to complete the look!
I would love to hear your opinions on the BG3 companions - especially what your characters might think of them!
I did the same thing in BG3 early access. Since I was running through the content several times to try out different options, I re-made several of my TTRPG characters in the character editor as I moved from one run-through to another.
Play it with Na'Krasha. The game is awesome with a barbarian main character. Especially if you have the barbarian companion in the party, too.
