SAK Hiker is my choice, I needed a saw for wood stove in the forest, to make pour-over coffee. Handy to have a cross head screwdriver on my dual sport motorbike. Nice little tool.
Sounds like you needed a compact and invented the Alox compact. I started carrying a Compact earlier this year and love it. I would love to lose the opening layer and cut a Huntsman down a layer by ditching the small blade for the combo tool. Huntsman is a great knife but I always felt it would be better off slightly thinner (carried a camper for years but the scissors are so nice).
So you have built yourself a Voyageur :) Good job! So many people wish they would introduce a Cadet X, bring back the Voyageur, and the 84 mm with scissors in general...
Yes! A Voyageur! Before I did this build, I tried to find a vintage Voyageur to purchase for EDC. They are very hard to find and expensive. It prompted me to try my hand at mods. I’m so glad I did
It is very odd that Victorinox does not bring back 84mm models with scissors. Yes…the collectors and EDC crowd want it, but these days people like compact carry, especially considering most people carry a pretty large smartphone along with other things. Anything else that can be a space saver is well appreciated.
Thank you very much! I just completed my second custom built Swiss Army knife and I love it! I can’t wait to share it with the community. I’m learning a lot about custom builds and I’m psyched to start my next one lol. That might be it for a while…..we’ll see😆
Sexy Voyageur that you made and to me it's the King of 84mm Alox knives. No scissors no SAK !!! I want a Victorinox factory made 93mm Alox Voyageur that they could make easily but I have never even seen a special order one from Victorinox. Voyageur is probably the most practical domestic EDC and would be as popular as the Cadet, Compact or Pioneer X if they would produce a regular production model. Nobody thought they would produce a Pioneer X but it was such a popular Mod that they decided to make it. Black Alox 93mm Voyageur with Damasteel blade is my dream SAK.
Cool mod. And yes the corkscrew is a great improvised marlin spike for uniting knots. I got a couple sets of 91 mm plus scales on order with all the accessories including pen and pin. Will upgrade my Deluxe Tinker and Climber. One of the lanyard is coming with the Quad Driver out the Swiss Card so that should solve the Climber not having a dedicated Phillips. Also have an Alox Mini Champ coming and thinking of doing the chisel/craving spoon mod to the cuticle pusher and maybe the drill mod to the citrus peeler. Keep the vids coming your doing a fantastic job!
Sounds like you have some cool stuff on the way for SAK urges lol!! I love both the deluxe tinker and climber. Not too long ago I was able to score a beautiful 84mm climber for a great price, but they are hard to come by. Hmmm….I’ll have to check out the mod on the cuticle pusher. That sounds like a great idea. Thank you so much for watching!
New subscriber. I have Swiss Army 1 Alox I use for when I’m dressed up lol I love it. I have a small Swiss Army knife on my keychain like everyone does😂and I have a large model with all the bells and whistles I bought at a garage sale. It’s funny I keep it in my truck and have used a lot of tools on it👍🏻 Anyway good info and I like your style of telling us about your knives and how you carry and use them. 👍🏻✌🏻
Awesome channel I'm huge sak guy ..I'd love to made an explorer with pliers to replace my cybertool m I find the pliers great for knots as well looking forward to your future videos and love your energy
SAKS are great. Cybertool looks sweet. I don’t own one but I’d like to get one. I just completed another custom build that I’m going to show real soon. Thank you so much for watching!!
Form me, I spent 1 k on knives over Christmas, the Elementum BL being the cheapest and as kind of a last minute add on. It is my Favorite out of all of them. Purchase it, you will not regret it.
I have the larger BL elementum and I do really like it. I have the regular sized one on pre-order at blade HQ. Can’t wait to get it. Thanks for watching.
Some poeple have figured out how to modify 91 mm scissors and springs to fit into a 84 mm knife, but I assume that's not easy. But probably better than "killing" nice pieces from your collection :)
Refreshing to see a knife channel by a collector who is into a variety of knives -- & modifications, too! Subscribed!
Thanks for watching! Yes!! I’m into a lot of different knives. There is so much out there to enjoy within all budget ranges. Thanks for your support!

Very cool mod! So glad you shared it with us! I always thought a cadet with scissors would be cool! Glad you are feeling better!

Dude, you literally made the perfect SAK.

An essential MOD, for EDC, which is nicely done! 💪
Atb Gus 👍
Thanks man!! And thank you so much for watching!

Great video. Subbed!

That’s a nice alox compact

That would be great! I wish I knew how. It was emotionally painful tearing down the 84mm Golfer to get the scissors lol.
According to the rumors, the 2023 color should be yellow.
There is already an image of the set online, not sure if it's official, bit it probably is. A little greenish, very vibrant yellow.
Or you could call it lime green, I guess.
Not sure what they will call them.
