In my opinion it’s worth selling the car privately or selling it to a dealership as your car is worth atleast 53-55k instead of trading it in to Tesla.

Same experience with my BMW, got offer to sell my 3 Series with a dealer, but BMW was willing to take it off me for a good price and it knocked off the price from my X5, made it easier for me
Some private buyer will value FSD at least closer to £7k. So better to try and sell privately.

£49,000 is terrible for it right now. 2021 LR are going for like $5,000 MORE THAN MSRP in the United States. Gonna assume UK is the same.
@@SeedTech Demand is the simple answer. People want them, and they want them now. Buy used and you get it way quicker than new, and that's why the price is up.
Trade-in value which is like wholesale is different from the retail price.
US demand is much higher and therefore backlogged. You can get a Model 3 by February next year in UK.

Considering Jack said that the model 3 was his dream car I'd be surprised if he trades it in for a model Y, I get that he makes enough for it but it doesn't seem worth it unless he suddenly decides he's going to go on loads of camping trips and that his new dream car is the model Y cause the only upgrade is the boot space everything else is a downgrade imo but we'll see what happens, if I was in this position (I mean I wish I had a Tesla but here I am with my 2006 ford fiesta) I would just wait for the cybertruck or try and save for my dream car which is the model X
His dream car is actually the model x not the model 3 or the model y but i still agree although since the model y is more new i think it would benefit his channel more than having the model 3

Hey jack! So i looked up into the Tesla model Y and I am quite on a conclusion here. The model Y has larger seats, and a ton more space inside the car and the interior is almost the same as the Model 3. The only thing you actually get by upgrading is a larger space and a few new cool features. As you mentioned in the video, you get less range off the model Y. I do not think upgrading would be a good decision as the model Y is just like higher memory version for any phone. You will also have to loose auto pilot for just larger space. These are just my thoughts on this but the rest of the decision is up to you. Love your content

Here in the US there’s now a monthly subscription available for FSD…not sure if it’s available there yet, but the speed at which you trade cars, that’s likely the more cost efficient option, and would allow you to make that content when you wanted. I’d vote yes, because I think the Y would make for a more comfortable road trip car, you could explore camping more, etc. That said, your garage is tiny so from a practical standpoint, it may not work! Good luck - look forward to hearing about your decision!

Just something you should know, the induction wheels make the ride quality really bad, Ryan Shaw has mentioned this so many times, he even changed his suspension and got the standard wheels after buying the induction wheels
Keep the model 3, the model Y won't fit into your garage. The only new Tesla you should be looking at getting is the Plaid, by the time it's out you should have the money for it :)

After owning both the tesla model 3 SR+ and model Y here in USA, I can definitely tell you that Model Y far better car in terms of comfort and space. Inside tech experience is exactly same. I do feel more road visibility in Model Y. The extra height is so comforting and feels safe.
For you I will not recommend to get a model Y by selling your model 3 LR with FSD. FSD is so good and worth the investment specially after beta releases. For an EV biggest trouble is range. One should go for maximum range possible while choosing an EV for purchase. Yes Tesla super chargers are there but they are now getting crowded in very popular areas time waste due to that is so annoying.
If you are really want to go for an SUV experience with Tesla cars go for Model X or wait for cyber truck.

I’ve been driving a Model Y for a little over a year and it’s hands down the best car I’ve ever been in. That includes Model 3! Model 3 is super nice but something about Model Y makes it feel a lot more premium. You will have absolutely no regrets if you purchase it. And as for the extra cargo space, you might find that you would use it a lot more than you think. That’s what happened with me!
I wouldn’t bother. I would have bought a Y over a 3 if it was available at the time, but wouldn’t swap it now. There’s not much video content you’ll get out of it either.
Would just like to clarify, Jack said his current model 3 does 0-60 in 3.2 which is actually incorrect. The long range model 3 does 0-60 in 4.2 seconds without the acceleration boost, with the boost it's 3.7 seconds. The model 3 performance does it in 3.3 seconds
Good point, I thought 3.2 didn't sound quite right lol. And the acceleration boost is also available on the Model Y, which makes it 4.2 seconds
Here's what I would do:
1. Keep the Model 3 because it's better
2. Buy the Model Y with a 96 months loan at a low-interest rate
3. Rent the Model Y on Turo a few times a month to pay for the loan
4. Make videos for free with the Model Y
5. ????
6. Profit
Not sure how a loan would go with him being "famous". He'd have to do it privately without it being known it's his car being rented out

@@stopsallmelb Yeah but he could work with a Turo management service which would basically take care of everything (delivering the car, taking care of maintenance, cleaning the car…) and Turo has an insurance that covers everything. You have to take 10-20 photos of the car before renting it to a customer and you have to take 10-20 photos after. If anything is damaged Turo pays for it in full
In a normal situation don’t do it, but because of your channel and all the content you will get out of it.. it’s probably worth it
JUST GO FOR IT!! New tesla = more content = more views = more money = more cars. Thats how it works my friend even if its not that in specs but a bigger car and more space. This is my opinion thx.

In every Tesla there is a Basic Autopilot besides Enhanced Autopilot and Full self driving capability. It is just an good adaptive cruise control. So the Basic Autopilot which is basically in every Tesla keeps the lane and the distance between line and other cars.
Don’t recommend buying it, although it is bigger I don’t think you really need the space because it’s just you and Becky and the dogs, also your garage is small. Also it’s a waste of money because of the software upgrades you bought in your current car and autopilot, if anything for content you should save up for they cyberteuck.
Maybe Becky has an announcement to make soon...

You should. You should also hold off auto pilot because after you purchase your tesla you can buy autopilot in the app. So if you choose you for sure want autopilot after you buy the car its possible and get it in the app.

Buy it I think it is an investment and that price is before savings which would be about 3,000-4,000 pounds so it would cost 4,000-5,000 pounds which is very good for a overall 25% size upgrade and 5% less performance I think it is a good trade off investment

That's nice IMO. I own a 2004 Vauxhall Astra. It may smell bad, have a ton of dents and 300k miles, but I have so much memories with this car that I would feel guilty selling it.
If you buy the full self driving subscription plan you can transfer it to any Tesla you get
You should check the Q3 earnings call, CFO confirmed FSD is factored/transferable when trading in. Although it seems a bit fudged, they do it through discounting is how I understood it so worth checking with Tesla and updating us all.
You should definitely order it Jack I know the miles might seem like an downgrade but its WAY better than the model 3 , but you should wait awhile because it isn’t even available in Germany right now it’s price will probably be lowered. 👍
Price cant be lowered for parity reasons unless they also start making the model 3 there and that certainly won't happen for a very long time.

This is pretty easy. Trade-in your current M3 for 49k to Tesla provided that they can give you FSD for free on the model Y, or just resell the M3 on the used market for 54-55. Chip shortage and long delivery times on new cars these days are driving the prices up on the used market. I would never buy a used car for close to the price of a new one, but there are people that do.
On a different note, Tesla does not care about your EAP/FSD packages when they give you a trade-in estimate, cause they will add that before they resell it anyway, to maximize profit.
The model y long range is limited to 135 mph but it has enough power to go 145 from a future update. The model y long range actual acceleration is 4.1 with the boost upgrade.
Wait for the new Model Y with the 4680 battery pack, it’ll have at least 400 miles of range. It’s coming early 2022.

so jack, you've got to think... the reason it is slightly 'slower' is because its bigger and that's the same reason it doesn't go as far. However, it does go the same speed, just takes a little longer for it to get to that speed as it is heavier! so really, the question you have to ask yourself is... do you want the same car for NO extra cost or get a bigger car that really has no downsides, as you don't need to pay for most of your charging miles due to your referral link, or do you want a bigger car, that will produce a lot more content than your last purchase as there is more of a difference from the 3 to the Y, for just £8,000? which when you think about it, isn't bad for an entire new car but separately... will it fit in your garage? haha

You should buy the performance one and I also think self driving is useless and here's the reason why I am saying get performance one . Your channel has started to grow a lot so if you do daily uploads and do Q and A about the car you will get more money and you have the time till 2022.
Jack, keep the Tesla Model 3 because the autopilot videos are the best
The reason the model y has worse range and acceleration than the 3 is because it is built on the same platform so it uses the same battery pack and motors on a larger , heavier, and less aerodynamic car. Tesla did this to keep costs down and it is quite common across the entire auto industry. Hope this helps.
For the peformance, the max is 5 seats. long range is 7 seats

Yes get it but please get it in the blue it looks so good plus a wrap is just as expensive and can do at any point but the blue will look good in the thumb nails so will pay for itself right away where white wont be as eye appealing plus under 10,000 for a new car is still really cheap even though it is a down grade in range and speed but it is a heavier car

I reckon if you traded in your model 3 you'd make a profit from buying the model y the amount of content you could make would definitely pay its self, the 24 hours in the tesla would be easier you'd also have the bragging right of "oh I have a model y" but if I were you I'd see if FSD gets payed with a trade in : )
I can think of about 3 videos you could make around the Model Y but after that I would struggle. Anyhow if you do decide to go for it. Take a cheap loan for the cost of the Y and sell the 3 privately soon after and pay loan back. Tesla are really starting to take the mic with many things. No transfer of FSD, no transfer of deposits between models.
If you do want to buy it then wait until the factory in Berlin opens because then I think maybe the car would be better made and a little bit cheaper.
The Y is more practical, the 30-40 real mile difference should be minimal.....I agree on the autopilot although I bought the advanced feature. Selling privately is definitely a better option. Get you order in now though, demand is very high.

Pros: More space, maybe a bit more updated features, you think it looks better (i dont)
Cons: Its slower, has less range, you lose full self driving capability.
Also i dont know if it fits in your garage. Your model 3 will of course lose value but i think waiting for the cybertruck is worth it because you will make a lot of money in the year that you will have to wait for it. Of course you could borrow a model y from somewhere for a video. Ofc its your choice but i dont think you should buy it.

You should look for quotes from places like We Buy Any Car. Normally the initial quote is a teaser to pull you in, for them just to knock it down for any minor blemish. I know someone that recently sold to them and they actually revised the initial quote upwards, after saying they would go away and think about it. The second hand car market is booming.
Tesla provided me with the worst quote when I was looking to trade in my Golf.
It’s a common misconception that FSD is not calculated in the trade in value. It actually is and was confirmed in the Q3 earnings call. If you trade in an identical car without FSD you would see the difference. No idea how much they would value it though.

FSD should be linked to the owner and not the car, so you can take it with you or sell it on. Current policy is not fair.
I think you should skip getting the Tesla Model Y 2022, and hold off until the Cybertruck gets released

Full self driving IS included in the trade in value with Tesla. They just cleared this up on the earnings call the other day. However, what they should probably do is get better about showing that it's been factored into the trade in price.

Hey Jack, I don't think you should buy the Model Y yet. The Model 3 still has a lot of storage and is faster. I think you should wait till fsd is transferrable since you could not have to lose so much money

Also Claimed range is only real if you had a set driving with no a/c like a normal driver

If you do go for it, it might be worth considering selling your M3 privately and getting more than Tesla are offering. Used prices are high at the moment due to knock on effect of shortage of microchips.
dear jack, you should not buy the 2022 tesla model Y because again, less range and performance and on MY opinion it’s just the model 3 that’s chunky and raised to be almost as tall and fat like the model X so it ain’t worth it when u get more space but less range and performance on a more expensive car! also my parents are getting the 2021 tesla model 3 long range with white interior 19 wheels and white exterior. i really think that the exact car that u have rn with white interior or different color is the BEST deal because the long range model 3 is not that much more expensive than the sr+ (standard range plus) and way better so: model 3 long range with or white interior or different color that white. my OPO. cya jack

There is a different type of heating and AC system in the Y which is meant to either heat or cool the car faster then the previous models. The other thing is apparently the AWD works differently on the Y then on then 3. Sense you live in a mild climate that sometimes gets snow it would be interesting if you were to get the upgrade and compare it to the driving in the snow like you did before to see if you knowticed a difference.
The Model Y also has a custom spoiler. (Performance)
Well worth checking out Rory Reid’s review. He bangs on and on about how incredibly firm the ride is in the Model Y- so much so that it’s no fun to drive (apparently).
Jack, while you can trade it in for the views. I wouldn't recommend it. Your current car has more range and has a faster 0-60. It even has autopilot, sure you don't use it. But it's still something you still have and if it becomes better you can start to use it. Also it could be great for future videos (assuming the algorithm agrees). This is just my opinion.

Jack, I'm a huge fan of your channel, I mean myself, I'm not allowed to drive as of yet I have to wait 10 years. IMO you shouldn't get the Model Y, its a massive downgrade other than boot space, you seemed to really enjoy the Model X, just wait and save for that. at least for the model x you get a massive upgrade and it would be so much better for you
Save yourself 2k by getting the cheaper wheels, taking the covers off and getting the wheels powder coated black
If you do decide to get the Y, you can always add the extra self drive features when it makes sense to do so. Like comparing it to the last time you did it ect. And by then the content you created should of set the cost.
