I learned at 36 weeks, after asking some questions about measuring for the baby’s growth, that I had had low Pap A earlier in the pregnancy. Based on this and my advanced maternal age, the midwife sent me for a growth scan a few days later. Learned at the growth scan, by which point I was feeling very sick, that my son was measuring very small, and ultimately that I had HELLP Syndrome. There was NOT a close eye on me. We ended up being okay but I want my doctors to account for this oversight somehow! The low Pap A wasn’t shared with me not any of this information discussed.

I find it so hard to believe that women aren't informed about what is going on in their own bodies and cared for. I hope it all went well for you and well done for demanding better care.

thanks for telling those vital information. There is almost nothing out there, the news devastated my wife when she saw her results of 0.368 MoM. I try to re assure her now that the risk is still quiet low and we have to be careful onward

@@tahirasultana2770 she is doing great. The doctors forced her to be born in the 38th week. (I personally believe it was the 37th). She was born with 51 cm but 2.4kg. she is now 10 month old, in the norm, around 8.5 kg. So she recovered.
By the way, we fear my wife might have some intolerance to gluten. And it could be the reason our newborn was smaller than the norm. (But we are not sure yet)

I have low papp-a of 0.38 mom, currently 33 weeks pregnant without any complications yet. I just learned that I have apparently low papp-a during my FTS. However when I asked my OB, another OB, my midwife and an OB specialized in prenatal testing they said that it was nothing to worry about. After doing some research, I see that almost everyone with levels this low was prescribed aspirin...also the increased risk of genetic abnormalities are scaring the hell out of me. Did anyone have levels this low without any intervention?
