- You've seen the power of round kicks. In this video, I show you how to defend against them, the Wing Chun Way!
I've spent 28 years learning Wing Chun.... Hands on Wing Chun, sparring and testing the art under hard pressure. I've learned what works and what doesn't. The knowledge you hear on this video is legit, battle tested, not just theory. Follow what I say in this video and you may make a hard, round kicker think twice before throwing a second one.
With a focus on practical application and detailed instruction, I cover three crucial aspects of defending against round kicks: conditioning the shins, checking with structure, and forward energy.

you're a great teacher i enjoy watching your videos
Wing chun is really hard to teach, thanks sifu for these videos respect 👌
5:19 thanks sifu I never think much of the sctucture, but anything I've done good has been through structure.
My mate always drummed it into me that I will never know 100% structure or how to punch straight properly, he had a sifu that, would be all about structure, and his sifu practices forms alot. And he lived in China. He is just as accomplished as you. And a veteran like you, for years he has been wingchun. When he said that it made me question my wingchun, but as you said if you do the basics repetively thats the true homework.
Thank You Sifu very informative will practice this along with my current training very much appreciated
Best Wishes Bern xxx

What about hook kicks and front snap kicks? I’m thinking low Gaan or Kwan sao?
Wing Chun teaches you to think in terms of concepts. If the kick is higher than the leg can defend, fight from behind your elbow.
This is effective the shin conditioning cos in the real fighting world people have there kicks honed hard core, and if your shins are conditioned, that will be an advantage, he might me be the one limping away not you. If your legs are conditioned there harder to break, and if theres aren't conditioned there proned to leg breaks...
So if they are kicking with their right leg I counter with my right leg?
You check the kick with your front leg.
@@sifuadamwilliss gotcha thank you
That's the way the skeleton moves 😅 embrace it.
Thanks for the power your knowledge has given me 🫵
