Thank you for posting this. I was at the cemetery in July 2014, just after visiting the D-Day beaches. I also lived in Cambridge in the 1980s and visited the cemetery several times. It is just beautiful, and so peaceful with the views out over the fens and Ely Cathedral on the horizon. The chapel is so moving and the new visitors' center is very well done. I had a nice conversation with the gentleman in the visitors' center. Looking forward to my next visit.

Despite which some of my own countrymen think victory could not have secured without America, we are for ever indebted to brave men like this

You may know, but please know the total humbling impact a film like this has. Family members had no idea, or scant knowledge of what happened to them.
With the wonders of the internet, we can know now.
Bless you for posting. It's a sensitive presentation of horrific acts.
    Bless you. Bless you.

I was part of the Presidential guard duty at the D-Day ceremony in 1992. It was beautiful. Walter Cronkite spoke along with the Prime Minister of England. I don't remember his name. Then of course Dirty Bill in his early days spoke. On departure Hillary crouched and waived at my daughter standing along the ropes. She was cute I have to admit. Hillary stopped and whispered to Bill, who in-turn whispered to a Secret Service guy behind him. The agent shook his head no and they went on. The ceremony was amazing with bag-pipes echoing Amazing Grace and a Missing Man fly-over of F-15's. The grand finally was a Blenheim bomber with two Spitfire's flying overhead hitting the trees above knocking leaves onto the crowd. It was amazing! All the while Big Band music played on loud speakers.

Some Americans fought for Britain before the US entered. Some came after fighting in the Spanish Civil War.
