I'd never fully picked up on the self interests of Capote as Kermode mentions here. Makes me want to go back and watch it again. Thought it was a really good film.
Whilst I guess it's a good film, I had never realized how such a vile person Capote must have been if this film is even remotely representative of him.
Shame he didn't mention the tremendously charismatic performance of the bloke playing Richard. Never seen him in anything else, but you can understand a person falling in love with him.
Paet of me really wants to watch this film, another part of men knows im going to hate the character depicted on screen, and knowing that im likely to be angry at the film in a sense, wellnits putting me off
I've been hearing about his Capote impression for a while, that it was one of his most annoying. I'm disappointed. It's just a watered-down version of his Woody Allen.
´´This is like a university lecture, only fun´´. Gotta love Kermode.

Ok, now I want to read his Ph.D. thesis.

Robert Graysmiths BS Zodiac Killer book (and resulting David Fincher film) could have been mentioned here.

I liked Toby Jones' Capote personally

To me it does not really seem to be like his Woody Allen impression

Check out Toby Jones as Capote in Infamous (2006) you may prefer it.
Wait, Kermode’s impression or Hoffman’s?
