    The black fade outs make this more comical than it should be.

    I agree with the fact that Kate Winslet's better performance this year was undoubtly in Revolutionary Road, instead of the Reader.
    I actually like the presentation of the actor Oscars. It was interesting to watch and listen, and nice to see 5 previous winners assembled.

    I love what Mark says about Ledger - it’s sad that it was considered a sympathy vote - he just was that good

    I don't think he's hating and I agree. They NEVER recognise acting in sci-fi/fantasy/action films. The fact that Ledgers performance is one of the all time greatest film performances is irrelevant. If he had not have died then it would not have been considered because thats the fucked up way that the Academy is.

    @shaggyalonso as a convincing character, the wrestler himself was excellent. But, I think Rourke deserves less credit because that character is basically him in real life, so it wasn't really a stretch. hence i think an oscar is too generous. Do you reckon that's fair? Or is it just all about the character independent of the actor playing them to you? Hope I'm not about to be barraged by youtube anger :S

    Because it won and deserved too. No problem, no discussion.

    Yeah, but everyone predicted that the Academy wouldn't give two shits about a superhero movie, even if it's possibly deeper than those other movies.

    It's not. Kermode is right. Its a fine performance in an average movie. Rourke was exceptional.

    Harsh. And I disagree. TDK is by no means the cinematic perfection the buzz said it was, but Ledger's Joker stands among the great movie psychopaths.

    Duh, finally someone gets that Kate Winslet was great in Revolutionary Road, not in a crap movie like Reader.
    I'm a bit sad that WALTZ WITH BASHIR didn't get best foreign film.

    I love giraffes. Send em' on over!

  • @Gyropitus
    @Gyropitus 15 лет назад

    Um, you're not arguing with a Lemurian about something movie related I hope? That would be very foolish.
    Slumdog's much deserved win needs no further comment or discussion. Don't reply or I will send giraffes!

    Oh for fuck sake this reminds me of how annoyed I was by Mickey Rourke not getting best actor. Haven't seen MIlk but it must have been one hell of a performance by Sean Penn to be better than Rourke's in the Wrestler.

    There is simply no way Ledger would've even been NOMINATED let alone win the damn thing if he was still alive.
