  • Getting your boat properly set-up and outfitted can be the difference between a super fun day on the water or a challenging one. Whether are you running extremely difficult water, or just learning to roll and paddle, the set-up of a boat is equally important. Nick Troutman joins me and explains how he likes to get the Zen and Nirvana ready for action.

It would be great to see a video on how to replace the hip pads in the Antix 2.0. One of my hip strap connections wore out in the first year, and Jackson kindly sent me a new set for free, but it seem the ones they sent are different than the originals, and I need some help on how to install. In particular threading the wide strap through the narrow holes from below the deck seems challenging

Let numbness may not be pad position - may be hip pad is too tight. Also left out the most important part of solid creek boat outfitting - knee blocks. The new knee hooks are great idea but you have to back them up with foam if you want to really connect. Even Pyranha hookers work better with knee blocks backing them up.

I think most people don't get the chance to paddle all of the boats, so we are all wondering which boat will sit me the best for the water where I live. Can you please compare the boats and explain what the strengths of each are, and what type of water they are the best suited for. That might also help push people to start thinking about their next boat.

I know nothing about white water kayaking but somebody got me interested. I live in Sacramento near multiple white water opportunities. How much should I spend on a full setup? And is there a group I should look to join up with? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Also, do you pack your camping gear in the kayak with you?

Hey 👋 I’m 45 6,2 190 and I live near the Ottawa River. I’ve never kayaked because I was concerned with balance but after watching your roll videos I’m confident I can learn. What boat do you recommend for learning to play on that river? I would like to get into this next year.

Are these kayaks good for lakes and calm rivers too?

I found a good deal on a used 2018 Large Nirvana in Kentucky, but the bulkhead foam blocks were missing... where can I find replacement foam blocks/hip shims?

If you haven’t tried yet you could try contacting them by email and see if you could buy them.
