My daddy was a news anchor at the television station in Nashville who aired the Gospel Singing Jubilee, in the early 70’s. My daddy would take us to work with him sometimes. At 7/8 years old and my brother was 10/11. We got to watch the quartets perform several times. We loved every second. The Florida Boys let us see their touring bus. Some of my fondest memories. We got to meet many country stars. In Jackson, MS I even got to sit on Charley Pride’s lap while my daddy drove him to the airport after a interview. I was only 3 or 4 but still remember how nice he was. But the Cathedral Quartet and Glen Payne are my all time favorite quartet. They don’t make them like that anymore. And the 70’s was a magical time to ge a kid...
The Cathedral Qt., to me, will ALWAYS be the standard for southern gospel greatness. Obviously, they had powerhouse lineups of talent nonstop until they retired in 1999, but this exact group was the one I went to see as a small boy in1973 at Otto Junior High School in Lansing, Michigan.....and I've never seen or heard anything better!!!
Hallelujah yes thank you Jesus for freeing us from sin!! I-love Jesus and you Cathedrals and all the hymns you so beautifully sing that always bring the Holy Spirit to me!! Thank you Jesus their music lives on even though some now live with you in Heaven. We will all b together again some day..❤️❤️❤️🙏🙏🙏

Love this song and love the Cathedrals. Glen and George are legends

+Charlie Jenkins My pleasure! Glad you enjoyed the video.
Love this. 🤗👌🙏🏻🙏🏻
the best quartet. Too often I think Glen Payne is not given enough credit.
Who is on the piano? Very nice!
That's Haskell Cooley! He played with the Cathedrals for most of the 70's.
