Yea it tends to happen when people don’t lock onto his head during the fight. One of the most epic spectacle fights in all these games. Not just spectacle for a show but he fights very fun and really is meant to be fought head on hitting his head.

I tell you what, if you wanna experience another Souls Like game you should try Helldivers 2. It's just as easy to die in except you have lives, and the ragdolls are absolutely hysterical. Though all your weapons are ranged, but that doesn't really matter when the horde descends upon you.

Also when you said “Igon the Conqueror” and how he sounded like a George R. R. Martin character reminds me that when I was playing I kinda made the connection of Igon/Aegon and Bayle the Dread/Balerion the Dread, Aegon the Conqueror’s dragon. A reference, an homage, George being sneaky, or just a plain coincidence, anything’s possible, but I do feel vindicated a bit

That was great, loved the Bayle fight and so glad you went back and found Igon.
The path you found to the spirit spring that took you to the back of the fort you'd already been to is worth remembering for future playthroughs, it lets you get to Scadu Altus without having to fight Rennala, so you can get many more fragments etc before having to fight bosses.
OMG can't wait to watch after work! Loved this area of the DLC and my whole build is built around one of the items you find on the journey through there!

@@Emmalition CURSE YOU BAYLE!!!! So happy you enjoyed that fight! And if the item is the Great Katana then it's something I'm played with as part of my build but not what it's built around. You find that item with a painting and the location it leads to on Jagged Peak.
I love your commentary!! I recently wrapped my play through of the DLC and it was so amazing! Next time you find a blocked spirit spring, use Margit’s Shackle. It’s AOE is huge and it hits hand enough to break the rocks.

also,quite possible you noticed in editing, but ancient dragon man hunted drakes, so his sword is great against 'new dragons' but sassanach (or whatever) is an ancient dragon, so that's why it's not as effective ☺️

lmao, Igon and his voice actor are the gem of this DLC, instantly captured the heart of everyone and is now the most meme'd and beloved npc of the series... Even if I died way too often on Bayle i never got tired of his lines 😂

Your journey for the map fragment begins at the shadow keep a ladder by the boats and then down stream you go through the valley of flies,dropping grace to the crypt of dark its lies

that map fragment you are looking for was probably the last or second to last fragment i found in the game. and i found it pretty late. i probably was at scadutree level 15+ by the time i found it.

"Whoever put the message next to Igon I effing hate you" I felt that deeply lol Bayle was my favorite fight in the whole DLC. Everything about it is a vibe. The epic climb, the dragons, Igon and the best dragon boss Fromsoft has ever given us! Curse you Bayle!

Of course, Igon's Greatbow special skill attack power is enhanced by yelling ...
One thing about dealing with the skeletons and other things that live in death...... I keep my Uchigatana with sacred blade on it for those fights.. The holy damage does a lot of damage to them and when you kill them with either the blast from the weapon or the weapon itself while it's still glowing yellow, they stay dead. You don't have to hit them again before they get up. You could also use the Bloodhound's Fang and put holy grease or the incantation that does holy damage on it (or any other weapon you can buff).
IGON!!! FANTA!!!! CURSE YOUUU BAYLEEE!!! Igon got the final hit on my play through as well. It felt correct.
Ooo I hope you try out the dragon heart and spells at some point in the future.
Make sure you remember to go where you first met Igon and go the other way you left for later, towards the big solitary tower!
Also, I'm not gonna tell you how to get to that map fragment (what's the fun in that), but the path there is the opposite of straightforward hah
Ancient Dragon-Man will return in Soulsvengers: Infinity War.
If Bayle has 1000 enemies, Igon is one of them. If Bayle has 10 enemies, Igon is one of them. If Bayle has no enemies, the world has ended because even in death, Igon’s a hater. Gotta respect the grindset 💪
I am not sure, but I don't think you have been in the red area you saw from the big dragon's wing. I think that's the only way to get there, I could be wrong about that though, but still pretty sure you haven't been there because I didn't see any of the Grace sites on your map when you had it up.

It took me like 4 tries to beat Bayle which i was so surprised and so proud i was able to beat one of the harder bosses of the dlc.

I think you did way more damage to Bayle then you would have with the critical in that last moment.
Unfortunately you missed a lot of the fight and the coolness. You should fight him again or watch some videos from pro players which are really satisfying 😊
I found that area in the South, but just by accident ( use the hearts at dragón altar)

Since you didn't lock on, you missed a lot of Bayle's really cool attacks in 2nd phase. If you have the time, I'd recommend checking out somebody else fighting second phase so you can have a look at them!

If you haven’t you should play A Plague Tale Innocence and A Plague Tale Requiem. They are short and linear.

Am I missing earlier context where you just don’t lock onto enemies-or dragons, specifically? You-and your audience-missed a lot of the fight by fighting underneath Bayle. This fight is designed for the player to lock on. Really makes the fight more cinematic.

Bayle is much better to fight locked on( his head takes more dmg iirc, like midir), you also missed some very cool visuals due to not locking on.
