      Chad Szeliga I just wanted to thank you! You've been such a huge influence on me, and seeing how you actually take the time and respond to people, and have so many great videos out there to help us drummers that look up to you, I dig you even more!! Thank you so very much for all that you contribute to drumming, and music!! We love you brother!!

      @Chad Szeliga you are what turned me from "bleh" to "much better", listening to your polyrhythms and complex patterns really made me pay attention to the dynamics and intricacies in a song, and to focus on the drums as a melodic instrument and not just the rhythm backing. Playing drums has been the key to overcome my Traumatic Brain Injuries sustained in 2 separate blasts in Iraq in 2003 and 2004. My motor-skills, memory, balance and coordination have all improved since I picked up playing again. Thank you for your incredible skills and being able to explain your methods and thoughts on this!

    The drumming in this song is what initially hooked me to the song, and I think is BB's best tune.
    Great work, dude.

    Had it not been for this guy, my drumming would still be in a caveman basis. One of my favorite and most influential drummers of all time, loved and still love with a passion his work with Switched and Breaking benjamin especially. Still re-visit his older BB tutorials and videos, and I'm glad he's still into them and still working his way with them.

    What Chad Szeliga did with THE RIDE in BB is what really made him stand out. Foist likes the fast machine-gun snare, but Chad gave us The Ride.

    I could learn so much from chads drumming style. As a drummer who plays in a progressive band I try to implement different styles of drumming into our work. And it seems that chad does exactly what I want to do with my ground. Being an adaptable artist is not only good from a playing aspect but from a busy schedule aspect

    Maybe Breaking Benjamins new Drummer should take lessons from you because you were there best drummer by far

    • @chairsmissing
      @chairsmissing 7 лет назад +16

      Jeremy's drumming has gone so unnoticed in the years, exceptionally clever beats and utilizing his pieces to the utmost of his abilities. Glad Chad gave him credit for that. Plus BB's new guy, Shaun Foist, has openly stated he's a huge Chad fan and that's how he got the BB gig actually. Aaron Bruch (current bassist) showed Ben a cover he did on a Chad's BB song on RUclips. There's a great ethos towards the music and the musicians alike which makes my heart sing and I'm proud to be a BB fan

    • @chairsmissing
      @chairsmissing 7 лет назад +1

      Living in Europe I have never seen BB live. My only chance came late last year when they did one gig in London but I couldn't go unfortunately and actually see things for myself. But I've seen a great deal of BB live videos, plus individual's drum play-throughs and clinics, like here with Chad. Jeremy could really lay down some solid drumming in the early days when they were playing stuff like Home, No games (a personal favorite) or Shallow bay. I don't know what you might've seen, maybe you caught the guy in a bad day at the office, but I'm pretty certain he could turn up in more than one occasion. Also, quantizing wasn't a huge thing 15 years ago so he couldn't have gotten away too much with fixing his mistakes in the studio. Thats only an opinion though

    • @chairsmissing
      @chairsmissing 7 лет назад +1

      Then Shaun is still pretty young (guess the youngest of them bunch), and yes he's still learning. But he's a professional drummer, his biggest gig might be BB right now but he ain't no rookie. Even great drummer still need to work on their rudiments and all, and are still trying to learn new things or new ways of doing things. He has the potential to work and leave a mark with BB so long he stays focused and hungry to learn and contribute. I wouldn't worry too much about him, he can still pull off some of the more difficult songs live and he doesn't need to play them note-for-note.

    • @feedthewolf6930

      Nothing on the new album is there a new Drummer the drums were already laid down beforehand

    • @chairsmissing
      @chairsmissing 7 лет назад

      I've seen Shaun playing BB covers on RUclips before he joined the band and remember saying myself he was decent. But in no means spectacular. But your word's over mine on that bro since you've seen them live and you know whats up. With all I've seen and heard so far, thats where I base my opinion on. Then I guess we both agree on the fact he's got all the time and room he needs to improve though, and thats always a positive in my eyes.

    Years has passed and Chad is still a great composer for drums. Timeless great drums that match withe the music with groove and tons of personality. Not easy to make producers enjoy those detailed drumming. I think sometimes that Dave abruzesse was out of PJ because of his detailed drumming. Not so "grungy"
