Burkeaux -Tiens Moi

I haven’t made a song in a while!
Quarantine life could be a blessing in disguise. We all know what the cons are about this pandemic and it’s easy to focus on the negative side of things, but what about the positive side of things? What about spending more quality time with your family, or finishing that project that you have neglected for so long? What about finding new inspiration, or making a new song? I’ve found refuge in this time creating what makes me happy: art. Covid-19 has originated the perfect environment- a creative incubator, forcing me to focus on what really matters. I love making music and it will always be a part of who I am, and I am so thankful that the circumstances have facilitated me to fully submerge in this endeavor.
The title of the track is “Tiens Moi”, which is roughly translated to “hold me” or “sustain me”. I believe this is the cry of many people in the midst of these bizarre happenings. People who believe in God or a higher power are looking up at the sky and hoping there is shelter for them and their loved ones, while others just sit back and reflect on the meaning of all this.
This song goes out to everyone who is feeling fearful and confused or perhaps hungry and forgotten. I believe that music has power and I pray that this song reaches you in your despair, wherever you are. You are not alone.
