Thanks mate, that is a great compliment. My whole aim for this channel is to inspire people to crack on and try stuff. That's why I put a lot of my thought process and thinking out loud in my RWD project videos. To try and prove that you don't need a real plan and you can learn on the fly. I'm finding it easier to edit quicker now, ive learnt tricks to speed things up and it gives me the time to try and add a bit extra each time. The silver car is a lot of fun. But I shouldn't have daily driven it through the winter. I'm going to put the high compression engine in asap. Making this video has made me fall in love with it again 😀😀😀
Love it, exactly what I would want to build but been considering a GA16! Do you have an idea on its BHP per ton? Surely it could give the Clio 172/82's a run for their money!
Tom iam so sorry I have taken so long to reply. The app is not very good at notifying me about comments. At a guess I would say that this car is in the region of around 120hp. The car isn't actually as light as you would expect. When I put it on the corner weight scales it came in at 755kg. Since then I have fitted the itbs, which may have saved 5kgs or so. It is definitely a nippy, fun little car and I think with a bit more development, it most likely could give those modern hot hatches a run for they're money. It really could do with some quality coilovers and some toe in on the rear. I modified the axle in a hurry and it ended up with zero toe. Which has made it a tiny bit twitchy at higher speeds on bumpy roads. I'm actually really tempted to build a turbo setup. But the noise this car makes is very addictive 😅😅

I'm seriously tempted to strip it, cage it and put a livery on it. Then go racing. The problem is that every single mod, upgrade and part I have fitted is heavier than original. Wheels, tyres, suspension, brakes, gearbox, shafts, engine. It has all added weight. I reckon it could drop below 700kg quite easily if I really stripped it out. I do like it how it is though. Also I already have other projects and this is kind of done and useable 😊
I usually run 185 60 13 on all 4 wheels. That is what is on the rear. I had to put some emergency 175 50 13s on the front though, as I noticed the 185s were bald. The wheels are 13" k10 facelift wheels, with a 2.5" band. I'm not sure what the offset is though. I have 20mm extended front lower arms and I narrowed and cambered the rear axle.
No I dont sorry, there cannot be much holding it in though. 3 nuts across the top. 2 down each side and 2 at the bottom. Then it is just heater controls and some wiring to disconnect
The flange was cut off and then a laser cut micra flange was welded on in place. The runners needed a little cut and re jiggle as well. I can get a flange cut if you need one. But may have to wait until after lock down
i just had a look for the 4 into 1 and i cannot find the same manifold. i will see if i can find it in my history. but you may have to buy a slightly different style. a 4;2;1 would be better for torque anyway. they are very close match to the micra manifold. i may buy another and do a video on making one into a turbo manifold

The silver car is 1988 and it is fwd. My blue one is also 1988 and that one is rwd
