No Raised by the Waves? You missed out. My fav there at the mill. Giovanni's is tasty but go down the road a bit to Romy's for the best, harvested right there. Then across the street to Kahuku Farms. Fresh food, beautiful to walk around and they growing acai there! Get a bowl. Avocados some days as big as your head too😊❤
Huli huli chicken is so good and I’m not a fan of chicken! As a kid my mom would buy one if she saw a vendor selling it. The marinated spices and smoky juicy flavor. When u buy it, it hasn’t been sitting long. It’s always freshly cooked and so delicious. I live in NY and I still find Hawaii with the BEST cuisine!
BTW....Up until 1971-72, Kahuku Sugar Mill was a functioning sugar processing plant. All of the area that food trucks now occupy, was part of the sugar mill. The whole area from Ty's Beach Bus, Kalena's Hut, Eighty Chicken Sandwiches & Deez Bowls, etc., etc...was the main part of Kahuku Mill Camp, that housed majority of the crew & their families that worked the sugar mill. May have to trek on over to that area one day soon (or 2 or 3!) just to "see" what pops up!-lol
Great video been to all 3 locations. My favorite was the hotdog and shrimp. But the chicken was little too dry for my taste but all 3 are great choices to have a hawaiian trip to the north shore and a good meal. Should of waited for your show to get the free drink..LOL… Great job man
There are a lot of aquaculture farms in Kahuku raising prawns and shrimp. The shrimp you ate is really fresh and can be called farm to table. All the shrimp trucks and stops there source their shrimp from the farms within throwing distance from them.
@@jaymoney7984 there may be some that do get their shrimp from Costco, but most are connected to the farms out there. A lot of them were started as another outlet for the farms to make money more directly from their product.
Wow. I must have bad luck. Went to Mikes on two separate trips to Hawaii several years apart and both times they were closed!! Each time they said the coals were dead and come back next time.
Spent some time with you and like your style. I am a Japanese vegan (eat raw fish) ... so most of your food choices aren't mine. However, I like checking out the areas ... haven't been to the islands since before Covid, so need to check in before I go!
awesome videos, I am a new subscriber and lived in hawaii for a few years so its nice to see these recent videos. Quick question, do you end up eating all the food you order or what happens to the excess food waste?

Poke in Hawaii! :) Freshest shrimps. I've only been to Hawaii on stopover but if I were there on vacay it would be seafood heaven.

Insightful
Most get their stuff from Costco. Don’t lie.
Prawns AND shrimp?

@@jaymoney7984 what stuff? Shrimp for Giovanni's food truck? That was hearsay...
My Hawaiian friends eat the shrimp shell and all!

I love Maui hot dog. That’s my favorite dog! Lol!
They use fish for flavoring the lau lau. My great aunt makes the best lau lay in Maui.

Enjoy your vids ! Love the food trucks on the North Shire(
Steve, do you live in Oahu now?
It's to hard to choose just one because I liked something from every one of them.
You ate all that in 1 area ?
Kinda bummed, went to Mike's this weekend and got the Chicken and Shrimp. Very under whelming. Chicken was under cooked, Shrimp was bland.
Brother
you supposed to eat the shrimp shell aloha!
😁
11:18 $14 bucks for the LobsterDog ? 🧐
Yep. Proceed with caution
Giovanni’s since 1993 but by far us as bland as it comes nothing special at all. The bald guy blows them out of the water!!!
