    I grew up with Toyosi and Shabs at Anna's. Super pleased to see their younger sis do so well. I've lived in California for 10 years now and seeing St. Mary's youth club is crazy! That was my childhood also. Playing football downstairs in the gym. Well done young lady. Proud of you.

    The lo-fi beats that are in this vid are produced by Gami - he's one of the best producers around. A perfect beat to help illustrate the perfect talent that's Little Simz. They have similar music styles too.

    What I don't like about these interviews is that they romanticize the struggle. "I wouldn't change growing up here for the world"... Yes you would.

    • @kamrynw2982
      @kamrynw2982 2 года назад +13

      I don't think they were romanticizing a collective struggle.. but more so sharing her personal story in perspective. It's clear that where she grew up had complete impact on her standing success as an artist. If she never had those experiences she would not be who she is. That's not to say she wouldn't be successful stylll

    • @tamsinwood2
      @tamsinwood2 2 года назад

      Yep. It's a lie when they say what doesn't kill you makes you stronger. The struggle is soul destroying.

    • @rufdymond
      @rufdymond 2 года назад

      That’s not true - I grew up in Moss Side Manchester, supposedly in my days it was one of the toughest places you could grow up in the U.K.. I can tell you, I would not change where I grew up for anything, it made me the person I am today.
