Interesting. Your thought about Confusion is like how I felt about Atlas Rise at first. I thought that one seemed a bit disjointed when I heard it..after a few more listens..it became more seamless to my ears. My fav songs ever are the ones that grow on me and I discover new bits each time I listen..some take time to absorb.

This song is very good as well and the video. Very deep and it addresses PTSD which I have seen a few military people comment on how much they appreciate Metallica going in on this topic.

Amazin song and video! Basically both tie into how a person is affected in their civilian life(PTSD) after they come home from deployment. Like everyone of their songs...there's always a deeper meaning behind it that you gotta search for :)

you sir are 100% right luckily I don't suffer from the disorder but many of my brothers do listen to the lyrics its about a soldiers struggling with civilian life after war toward the end she was fighting with herself within her own head much respect to anyone that's ever served

Another stand out song for me among the new ones, great music, lyrics and video! Of 13 new songs (including Lords) I absolutely adore 9 of them, each is masterpiece! To have so many epic songs on one album is crazy!

Solos don't get writing credits. Usually riffs and song arrangements, or really anything that is related to the structure and core of the song gets writing credits. Kirk probably wrote all his solos but not any riffs.
Yeah....it took me a bit to get the video, but once I did, I loved it. And yes, it has a very unmistakable Am I Evil take, but I also think it has a bit of Day That Never Comes feel to it as well.

I just wished the guitars had the chugg, scooped sound of Ajfa instead of the kinda classic rock tone.
