The way they flowed, what they rapped about, what their beats sounded like, what their voices sounded like, etc. They all had their own identities. Imagine when Iron Maiden came out, and you had 10 other metal bands that came out shortly afterwards and they all sounded exactly like Iron Maiden. That's exactly what hip hop is nowadays. That's why it's considered trash by most. But you can still find the good stuff if you actually search for it and know what to look for.
This right here. It's exactly why a term like, "mumble rap" exists and why it's considered an insult. If it was just Future, nobody would care, but since everyone bites Future they get the negative label. It really all just goes back to biting not being cool, and it's why the late 80s/early 90s were so dope for hip hop.
@@TheRealness408 Let's not make it a generational thing. For example, in the late 80s everyone bit Rakim or Big Daddy Kane. How many rappers rapped like 2Pac in the late 90s? But there's a difference between just biting and being influenced. Everyone is being influenced by somebody, everyone develops. When it comes to Future he's influenced a lot but he's not the only one trendsetter and there's plenty of different sounding ppl today that you can say developed styles of their own. The thing is there's way more rappers now than in the 80s and 90s so biting has become more visible than uniqueness. Also sounding like someone who has seen success was always deemed to be the way to success.
@@cloudyriver I just used mumble rap as an example because it has a label and is somewhat current. Of course the Kane rip offs, Pacalikes, and all the diggity diggity rappers were wack. There is a generational differerence and you just touched on it. I just agreed all the biters you mentiomed were wack. You defended current biting. That's the disconnect. There are more rappers now, and plenty of them don't copy Future, Migos, etc, so to blame the quantity of rappers on the increase in biting doesn't work for me. I actually think we're in a 3rd golden age of hip hop where people don't all have to sound the same anymore, and those that do chose to copy are just lazy and creatively bankrupt. I don't care if it's the easiest way to make money. I don't care if my favorite artists are rich, I care that they are creative, and if they aren't they don't deserve praise. Lmao also how old do you think I am? I'm not one of these old heads stuck in the 80s. Hell, I didn't even exist in the 80s.
@@TheRealness408 I didnt say the biters are wack or not (i'd rather consider it case by case) i'm saying that biting or sounding like the other artist is a part of the genre since its beginning. Melle Mel who's from the first generation of studio rappers said that when Rakim first came out everybody had to change their style. When you listen to a lot of underground / little known / obscure rap from the 90s you'll hear how similar they are to each other and more successful, widely revered legends. So definitely visibility and success are factors here i'd say. Maybe you're stuck in the 90s?
Regarding your question about if some members are considered better than others: Krayzie Bone and Bizzy Bone are considered the two standout members of Bone because of their unique way of delivering verses and different cadences. All of the members have flow but these two are the fan favorites & personally mines as well. Bizzy Bone is my absolute favorite because of his high pitched cadences, unorthodox way of putting down verses, and how he dove into different subject matters on his solo albums and other Bone albums.
Great reaction bro! This is one of my favorite albums of all genres in the 90’s, of all time! It’s timeless! The previous ep creepin on a come up was an amazing introduction to Bone Thugs. I hope you check that out soon
Tha Crossroads rose to #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 for 8 weeks, sold over two million copies, and would later win a Grammy for Best Rap Performance by a Duo or Group at the 39th Annual Grammy Awards. "Tha Crossroads" is also known to be in the best-selling rap songs of all time. "Tha Crossroads" won Bone Thugs-N-Harmony a Grammy for the best rap song in 1997, topped #1 in the billboard pop charts for 9 weeks, and broke The Beatles' 32-year-old record for fastest-rising single. The song was certified 2x Platinum by the RIAA.
Great reaction! I think this is a great album to introduce to a metal head. It's so different from "traditional" rap from any era or region. They're obviously rapping fast, but it's not so lyrically sense that you have to catch every word to understand the gist of what they're saying most of the time which makes it easier to appreciate the cadences, intonations, and music. I was surprised that you found Wish's for to be your favorite. Most people I knew (including myself) felt he was the weakest of the 4 in every way. Also, with the Harry Potter and Kool-aid Mam tangents I'm not sure if I believe you don't drink or smoke... Or I completely understand why you don't lol

90s Golden Era of Hip Hop/rap love this time of my life and I still live in the 90s 😆. This in my opinion is Bones best album I can hear it over and over. Probably will today again 🤣 🤣
Bone thugs have a long history. They were first known as B.O.N.E. Enterpri$e and their music used to be extremely dark. Krayzie Bone rapped the song Flow Motion over the phone to Eazy E which ended getting them signed.
I felt that kool-aid man rant. You really painted that desert skit in my head vividly lol. But great reaction to a great album. The Buddah lovaz reaction was gold. You should check the albums in order so you can see how they're music grew as they did.
That fast rhyming style was perfected in the Mid-West by Twista, Tech N9ne, and groups like Bone Thugs and Do or Die. We call it Chopper style. Chopper is slang for a fully automatic weapon like an AK-47... Which is rapid fire like that rhyming style.
Ive been listening this album every day for the past 2 months. I'm so hooked!! You should react to their live performance in 1994 with easy E. They kill it!!! ♥️
Styles especialy in the 90s were very regional. This faster flow is more midwestern. Chicago artist Twista actually had beef with Bone over who invented it but chicago artists are less harmonious...do or die, twista, snypaz, crucial conflict all have a similar midwest fast flow. Id say detroit is an exception with a style of their own. Places like philiadelphia have an east coast sound but very distinct style compared to Ny/nj also west coast LA and the Bay have distinct differences. Back to this fast style i believe its referred to as a chopper style now a days and honestly nobody sounds like Bone.
Great reaction Frodo man.. I love this album.. took me back to my middle school years.. little 13-14 yr olds listening to this masterpiece, getting into all types of mischievous activities haha. So nostalgic. This album had some darkness to it. Another album I used to love with a similar dark side, Cypress Hill : Temples of Boom.
As a fan since faces of death, there's 1 major observation i noticed, all my death metal/hardcore(aka metal head) rock homies in high school all loved Bone thugs n harmony (men of culture) as all of us Bone fans are‼️
Each member except for Wish-Bone have several solo albums and collab albums, in fact, released an album last year called Wanted Dead or Alive, Krayzie Bone released an entire weed album called Leaves of Legend on 4/20/2020 and Bizzy Bone released Cabon Monoxide in 2019, The Mantra in 2020 and he is about to release another solo album on the 12th of this month called War of the Roses. In 2017 Krayzie Bone and Bizzy Bone released an album under the name Bone Thugs called New Waves which has a more mature and commercial sound while still keeping the original bone flow.
Off course he's reading the lyrics. When Bone dropped there were no lyrics. We had to decipher everything by ourselves which took months to really understand their slang and what they were saying

Dude, anything from Bone is top notch! Do more. The guys on the last song with Bone is Poetic Hustlaz and The Graveyard Shift. Anything Bone does is awesome
Land of tha heartless was my first Bone song I’ve ever heard. I was 10 years old. I did not know the cassette was in my fathers tapes and idk why he didn’t listen to rap. He listened to classic rock. I borrowed this cd off my older brothers friend frank and had that cd for months. I didn’t want to give it back. By the time I was 25 I owned every Bone album and solo efforts 3 times over. Bone Thugs is one of the most underrated catalogs of all time. Solo albums are another mountain to climb. But the reward is worth it.good luck and good reaction.
Flesh is basically Bone Thugs. He is Layzies older brother and signed a solo deal and then went to jail so he wasn't apart of a lot of the Bone Music. Tha Crossroads actually hass 2 other versions. The Original and the then there is a remix of the remix you heard here featuring Flesh
I was soooo looking forward to this review! I have to go back to work right now and have only gotten through about half of it but I'm looking forward to finishing when I get off work. I'm not sure if this album uses the original Crossroads but if it didn't you definitely have to listen to that one to truly complete the album review. I actually prefer it over the remix.
It’s kind of like the chop also, which is a style that came from project blowed and Freestyle fellowship. Bone thugs said they weren’t influenced by FF, but I think subtly many people were.
Flesh N Bone aka tha fifth dawg was definately part of BTH. He just hadn't signed with ruthless yet and went to prison for a long time after dropping a solo album.
If you get a chance theirs an awesome fan made CPU animated version of Down 71 on RUclips that’s really well done and put those visual lyrics to actual visuals. Also check out our “Creeping on a Come up” their ep with Easy that was their into to the mainstream prior to this album it’s not to long so could be a short one for you only like thirty mins if recall. Plus their the only group to do songs with Easy , 2pac , and Biggie while each were still alive For the Love of Money w/ Easy E Thug Love w/ 2pac (personal fav) Notorious Thugs w/ Notorious B.I.G (also great and Big actually does a great job trying out Bones Signature flow And yeh the original crossroads goes much better with the original track listing but the one you listened to ended up selling millions of more records after the album had already been out a year or so it was like the fourth single or so if that gives you a time line of how long it came out after the original release date
This is 2 years ago. But it's crazy to see people react to Bone. I been rollin with em since 94 or something. I even graduated in 1999 lol. That was always a big thing to me. Plus the prince song, and it being a new century. Etc

This album is my favorite. If I'm having a bad day, this will spruce me up. I used to spin signs and I would bump this album and doggystyle, the chronic, all eyes on me, blueprint 2, ghetto d, off the wall and thriller. Which I think are some of the best albums of time
You perfectly expressed the myriad of thoughts & emotions that go on in the minds of Bone fanatics. Haha. Welcome to the club, we're glad to have you. Great content, you've definitely earned a sub. They've all done solo projects (except Wish, we're still waiting on his. At one point, years ago, there were rumors of a Wish solo entitled The Wish Master but nothing came of it. We're still waiting, Big Wish!). Krayzie & Bizzy prolly have the most solo albums. They've all got their own record labels as well (except Wish, he's with Krayzie at The Life Entertainment ((formerly Thug Line Records))). Also check out Mo Thugs, it's Layzie Bones record label. The first 2 albums are pretty stout, as they include most of the Bone members as well as a talented pool of Cleveland rappers. I'd say that most Bone fans do indeed believe there are members that are more talented than other members. Krayzie & Bizzy stand out to me as the best two. They both continued to flourish after this album, and both are still putting out quality content, although it's admittedly different than E.1999-Eternal. More mature, I'd say. Music from minds that are cognizant of their own mortality. Wise man once said, every man lives 2 lives; the 2nd begins when he realizes that he only lives 1. Cheers, brother.
I feel like E.1999 Eternal is one of the greatest produced rap albums of all time. I listened to a lot of rap over a lot of years and not many albums match the production value.

By far my favorite reaction video!! Because you did the whole album I feel like I got to hang out with you too 🤣
This album is a masterpiece! No one can match their unique flow and harmonies. The production from DJ U-Neek is super dope as well!
Bone and Dj Uneek were a match made in heaven! Greatest of all time!
The track ‘Eternal’ makes me want to cry it is so perfect.
You got to hear that original version of Crossroads, I had it on the original CD before they replaced it, so good!
Great reaction bro! This is one of my favorite albums of all genres in the 90’s, of all time! It’s timeless! The previous ep creepin on a come up was an amazing introduction to Bone Thugs. I hope you check that out soon
It's amazing when Bone gets appreciated...I've been listening to bone since 7th grade.
Dude, I’m a metal man too, but Bone is one or those rap groups that you can play all they’re Albums front to back and stay excited the whole time;}>🤘🏼
Always good to see another Bone fan!

one of those rare albums you can listen from start to finish and its all good, labcabin california from the pharcyde is another one, btw if you like kings bounty check out heroes of might and magic, its like the kings bounty grandson, 3 and adds is the best
Bone Thugs N Harmony isn’t gangster rap. Bone Thugs N Harmony are Bone Thugs N Harmony. They are their own genre. The goats 🐐
90s Golden Era of Hip Hop/rap love this time of my life and I still live in the 90s 😆. This in my opinion is Bones best album I can hear it over and over. Probably will today again 🤣 🤣
amazing to see someone listen to crossroads for the first time after 25 years. priceless. thats a grammy winning song
Love this reaction! Just subscribed! Bone Thugs & Wu Tang are both amazing 🔥
I bought this album in 96 at a CD store here in Australia and it blew my 15 year old mind. Still love it to this day.
This album was like a damn greatest hits lmao
Appreciate you bro. Best react channel on the tube.
Thanks bro. I am from Brazil.
And I luv BTNH .
Now imagine being an 11 year old in 95 listening to this all day all night non stop. Good to see the music is still reaching.
That was me too Bro all day
As a fan since faces of death, there's 1 major observation i noticed, all my death metal/hardcore(aka metal head) rock homies in high school all loved Bone thugs n harmony (men of culture) as all of us Bone fans are‼️
Each member except for Wish-Bone have several solo albums and collab albums, in fact, released an album last year called Wanted Dead or Alive, Krayzie Bone released an entire weed album called Leaves of Legend on 4/20/2020 and Bizzy Bone released Cabon Monoxide in 2019, The Mantra in 2020 and he is about to release another solo album on the 12th of this month called War of the Roses. In 2017 Krayzie Bone and Bizzy Bone released an album under the name Bone Thugs called New Waves which has a more mature and commercial sound while still keeping the original bone flow.
I swear if you had a...YOU KNOW I ALWAYS WONDERED/ QUESTIONS OF THE UNIVERSE show I would definitely watch.
I think Frodo might be the first person to understand all of Bone Thug's lyrics on a first listening.
Off course he's reading the lyrics. When Bone dropped there were no lyrics. We had to decipher everything by ourselves which took months to really understand their slang and what they were saying
@@mookX92 Imagine if older ppl would do the same when listening to new rap instead of dismissing it as "mumble rap". From what i've read some rap fans from the 80s were dissing 90s rap too
Great review really enjoyed this I love the comment about how crossroads had to have gotten airplay... It was the fastest rising signal in US music history beating the Beatles can't buy me Love and won a Grammy
*single
The 90s were different my G
Great reaction man! Please do the art of war album by them
Every time I listen to this album it feels like the first time I listened to it as a kid in the 90s. THE ORIGINALS!
Favorite group of all time man, no one does it like Bone, this album is legendary, you should check out their album "Art of War" as well.
Thanks for covering this whole album.
You should definitely check out their solo and duo projects. And their other group album.
Dude, anything from Bone is top notch! Do more. The guys on the last song with Bone is Poetic Hustlaz and The Graveyard Shift. Anything Bone does is awesome
Casual's Bone fans will say this is their best album but most Bone fans will say Art of War artistically its above E.1999
Im a day 1 and this is their best album easily
I've been a Bone thugs fan since 94' E 1999 Eternal hands down is their best album!!
I used to smoke blunts and nerd out to their whole discography. My favorite rap group of all time
Flesh is basically Bone Thugs.
I actually prefer it over the remix.
imagine how amazed i was when i was 12 and couldnt stop listening to this album
They’re flow style is commonly known as ‘Triplets’…they didn’t start it but they perfected it
It’s kind of like the chop also, which is a style that came from project blowed and Freestyle fellowship. Bone thugs said they weren’t influenced by FF, but I think subtly many people were.
This album is a masterpiece.
Bone Thugs are the GOATS…gotta do thier other early albums like Creepin On Ah Come Up and Art Of War
Love this reaction.. love this album .. in my top 10
They are their own genre. No one else has done it exactly like Bone.
Krayzie Bone aka Leatherface Thug Mentality 1999 album review! Lets go....
Never seen the channel. Bone been my fav since they first came out i was a lil kid. Really enjoyed this bro thanks
Flesh N Bone aka tha fifth dawg was definately part of BTH. He just hadn't signed with ruthless yet and went to prison for a long time after dropping a solo album.
BONE THUGS N HARMONY - CREEPIN ON AH COME UP.... EP ALBUM.....1ST BEFORE E.1999
Plus their the only group to do songs with Easy , 2pac , and Biggie while each were still alive
For the Love of Money w/ Easy E
Thug Love w/ 2pac (personal fav)
Notorious Thugs w/ Notorious B.I.G (also great and Big actually does a great job trying out Bones Signature flow
And yeh the original crossroads goes much better with the original track listing but the one you listened to ended up selling millions of more records after the album had already been out a year or so it was like the fourth single or so if that gives you a time line of how long it came out after the original release date
This is 2 years ago. But it's crazy to see people react to Bone. I been rollin with em since 94 or something. I even graduated in 1999 lol. That was always a big thing to me. Plus the prince song, and it being a new century. Etc
Buck buck buuucckk!!! Art of War please!! My favorite bone album. Krayzie is my favorite!! Wish is the least, everyone has solo albums except for Wish, he should've been the real "layzie bone"
Krayzie Bone "thug mentality 1999" album is his 1st solo, definitely react to that one. Beast!! I'm glad you enjoyed this album. Love your reaction.
This one of if not the best album ever
My favorite album is
Krayzie Bones- Thug Mentality
Ghetto Cowboy and It's All Good
You should be watching Wu-Tang an American Saga on Hulu
😂😂😂
agreed 👐🏾 The best show on right now!! If you love #wutangclan it’s a must see!!
Time to trade in that wu tang hat. Greatest album ever by the greatest group of all time and no disrespect to the wu. Great video
I feel like E.1999 Eternal is one of the greatest produced rap albums of all time. I listened to a lot of rap over a lot of years and not many albums match the production value.
You are listening to one of the best rap/harmony albums of the 90’s Mr Quija are you with me?!?
32:20 deadddd lmfaooooooo the "ODB STYLE CADENCE" lmfaoooooooooo
lol two different worlds, hes learning tho...
Loved this album! Still do! Unfortunately, Bone never even came close to reaching my expectations after this.
Great reaction!!! Looking forward to you doing Bone Thugs ART OF WAR (double disk) album review...I'll sub and wait✌️
It was all about the sound... nothing like this ever existed before. It was seducing and mind blowing!
Btw, you're take on wish bone, is not shared by many. 😂
Haha I was so surprised when he said that about Wish Bone too! 🤣
Wish is definitely universally the least liked out of the group. I think Krazy and Bizzy’s uniqueness, takes a couple of listens to fully appreciate.
Wish was dope on this album, not so much after, lol...most people back then liked him cause he's the easiest to understand
I just seen an interview where Krayzie said Wish started rapping later on because he wanted to be a member of the group and Wish is the muscle of the group and glue that keeps them together
@@alejandroalmazan3472 Drink Champs...one of the best Bone related interviews I've seen.
I’m enjoying your reaction so far man
DJ U-NEEK DJ U-NEEK DJ U-NEEK DJ U-NEEK ‼️ DESERVES ALMOST MORE PRAISE FOR GIVING BONE THEIR SOUND 💯
