With the issue of the world being too small for all the community lots, you can make one lot 2 or 3 rabbit holes! :) Like pair bookstore and day spa or city hall, military and police station!
Can't wait for this, I think you should make a really nice beach with a bar and BBQ area, and a nice area for parties. And maybe on one of the lots you could build a sort of wedding resort, so those with Generations can put in an arch and have weddings there!

That cliff next to the "maybe" light house, just an idea, but you could do some stairs going down to the water to a private beach or just put a water fall :)

Do you know how hard it is to make an entire world? I can barely make a hill on my 60x60 lot, so think about how hard it is to make an entire world. Pie is out! PEACE!
To do the community lots there is a custom lot on mod the sims that I think is 7 community lots in one. It looks really nice in a city, maybe you could use that to save space.
Also LOD texture on the lots will update after you paint under them if you delete them then undo it. Handy to know. Sorry, I sort of only half watched the first time round, or I would have said all this earlier. I think I was divided between this and researching how to LP.
You might find EIG works if you minimise at the world loading screen (2nd loading screen) and let the world load minimised. Just wait a few mins then check. It's a common bug with the recent versions that hits some people.
Hey Flab out of curiousness when doing the houses and the design of the world are you going to focus on certain expansions or stuff packs because i am kinda going on a sims 3 splurge so i was gonna get some ep's or stuff packs to fit this world... Your world in turning out really nice! I've been working on my world for over two years now? *facepalm* I know, that's long. I would have finished faster if I didn't have so much work to do with uni. And now it just crashes so I'm at a standstill. Funny thing is that in my world, I also have a tiered housing area but I used the retaining walls from Bridgeport to give a nice effect.
