      Less political and "progressive" agenda on TV as well. Just fun. Social media and recent "woke" cancel culture ruined modern life in the west...

      And celebrities wearing clothes like they were at home such as leather trousees, jeans and t shirts. I wish popstars and presenters would be wearing it today. And I wish we had schedules similar to what we had in 2001, such as Live & Kicking on Saturday mornings, Top of the Pops on Friday nights. But most importantly I wish the BBC still owned Television Centre, if it wasn't for Mark Thompson.

      @@rankingtrevor Nah. That is a result of life being ruined by the internet, not the other way around. When everyone is communicating via gigantic corporate owned networks they have to protect their image and therefore they must be seen to deal with "undesirable" views on their platform(s). This is actually quite the reverse of progressive as nobody is being permitted the opportunity to express their views, ignorant and small-minded as they may well be.

    The best moment is when Nelly Furtado sings Craig David's 'Fill Me In' after talking about not fancying him, and immediately realises the sexual connotations. 1:07:05
    As a kid, that was what made this live Saturday morning kids' show fun; the underlying adultness bubbling away beneath it all threatening to pop up. You didn't feel too patronised.

    It felt so unusual seeing Live and Kicking running throughout the summer. Was used to other shows until September. Pretty obvious that BBC had no ideas for a summer replacement after Fully Booked ended.

    • @meridian2000
      @meridian2000 Год назад +1

      @Raj Nirvan It actually made sense tho to have Live & Kicking run all year round, considering it was the BBC's flagship Saturday morning show, I just don't understand why they created a summer show in the first place, it's like having BBC News having Breakfast from London and Sunrise from Edinburgh even though it never happened, they should've just stuck with L&K all year round in the first place which I'm glad they did between 2000-01

    • @meridian2000
      @meridian2000 3 года назад +2

      @Puddleglum I actually like the remixed theme of Live & Kicking, so upbeat and I love the animated opening titles as well. I think the reason why the titles changed is because L&K was going to be on all year round so it makes sense to get rid of the Television Centre titles which to be honest doesn't have to be in the titles in the first place. Live & Kicking could've used animated titles from the start.

      Yes definitely agree the final season of L&K (2001) was very forgettable to be honest. I still watched in that one series of Steve and Emma because Emma Ledden was still fit as hell and sometimes wore leather pants too which was always a bonus and there was always the possibility of any fine looking celebrity guests wearing leather or PVC pants as well which was enough to brighten up my mornings.
