Quick guide on how to write thall riffs

- How do you write thall riffs? Chaotically of course.
Typically how thall is written, in my opinion, is to simply build the foundation of a riff and add all the little bits after the fact. Thinking of it more as sound design can drastically improve your results!

Another point for “unsuspecting dudes with glasses” making disgusting riffs.
Would you maybe agree that thall is djent as far as drums go, with chugs and bends, and crazy stuff within the blank spaces? I think this is starting to click a little better for me.
I would say there’s quite a bit in common. A lot of off rhythms and sometimes almost percussive guitar playing. Try writing a djent riff but leave some space in between parts for little extras to be thrown in and you’d be pretty close just from that alone 🤙🏻

@@totalcomputerdependency FL Studio does go kinda hard. I use it sometimes for playing through sounds I want on the fly and just make something cool.
If only Reaper had a sound library that worked like FL Studio..
On the bright side, you can drag the clips from FL Studio and drop them right into your Reaper project so it’s not all bad lol.
Leave some emptiness is a hard trick to learn ))
