    VERY helpful !! I bought one of these long ago and stored it on a shelf where it's been sitting for years. I found it today and didn't even remember how to take it apart much less brew an espresso. Now, thanks to you, I'm going to put it to use again!

    I suggest microwaving the milk in a cup first, then squeeze coffee into this cup from the machine.. Microwave the milk to whatever heat level you want -- I like it fairly hot, like 70 C.

    how do you switch the metal parts? I used to work as a barista and the big machines needed regulary get their portafilters changed. Can that be done on these pocker sized machines?

    • @SnowysOutdoors
      @SnowysOutdoors  Год назад +2

      Unlike commercial machines which pump through hundreds of shots of coffee a day, this one is just a little portable machine which would be lucky to do a couple of coffees a day - if you're using it daily. Just like your at home bench top coffee machines, they dont need changing.

    • @SnowysOutdoors

      Not with the GR machine, that's only for ground (GR) coffee. Is you want to use the Nespresso capsules you need to either get the capsule adapter for the GR machine or just get the Nespresso (NP) version. ~ Ben

      @@futbol1972 generally coffee grounds require boiling water to actually release the oils and flavour from the grounds. The only option Im aware of the doesnt need boiling water is the "cold drip" method which takes a few hours and uses a different coffee system.

    • @SnowysOutdoors
      @SnowysOutdoors  4 года назад

    This or Aeropress?

    • @SnowysOutdoors
      @SnowysOutdoors  3 года назад +1

      Both are good. The deciding factor for me buying an Aeropress is that Wacaco machines produce a shot of coffee and you need to heat up milk and water to make a good coffee. The Aeropress can be made more like a long black with a dash of milk, so I'm only concerned about boiling water when camping. ~ Ben

    having tasted the rather simplistic and bland coffee that comes out of one of these, I'd rather just pack a dozen pre-mix cappuccino sachets that have the coffee, powdered milk and sweetener in my bag...

      @SnowysOutdoors  3 года назад +3

      I'm a self-confessed coffee snob, Funketon, and I've found the coffee from these to be great. That being said, if you use average beans, you'll get average coffee.
      The Wacaco machines create coffee in much the same way as a machine in a café does, just on a much smaller scale. I'd recommend using some quality freshly ground beans, probaly something with a strong flavour and ground reasonably fine, and see if that makes a difference.
