I'm really hoping that Anbernic does a refresh on this particular model that has a more powerful chip and an analog stick for more robust support for later systems like Saturn and Dreamcast. Not to mention so it can handle shaders without affecting emulation speed. The slowdowns you get when using shaders are bad enough that it makes pretty much any system unplayable (except for Game Gear it seems, but I wouldn't run a CRT shader on that system to begin with). Overlays and video filters are of course a great alternative since they get you like 70% of the way there and are easier to run, but the shaders that are available these days are just so damn good at replicating the unique qualities of CRT gaming that I pretty much use them whenever possible.
@@RetroResolve Okay so the ARC-S will be pushing it more, or are they just both pushing it? Please explain what the RAM is all about if U've got a moment ;) Thanks!!
I just want to play MVC2 with 6 button layout. Is it run well? and Is it better to run on android or linux? considering to get D or S depend on this factor.
I regret my buy, i prefer onionos of miyo mini, no game stay in memory on GammaOs, Dpad and screen are good but buttons make noise and feel cheap. Many shortcut on OnionOS, no shortcut in GammaOs, i'm tired to play on Anbernic Arc-D. Or somebody can help me? In Onion i press start L1 the game fast forward, Star+button 4 i have fps etc. On Arc D i can"t do nothing just save state or go in options core. Dreamcast and N64 seems OK but no way to emulate the stick i can't move.
I always wanted a nomad, this is finally what I was looking for without the 500 dollar price.
Psp works perfectly fine on my Linux side
Anbernic better increase the specs and resolution of their devices.

Did you try the sound output with headphones ? I read somewhere that there were background noise...
So the d-pad is hadoken- and shoryukenable?
Does MVC2 run on the arc-d with 1GB RAM?
And spinning piledriverable!
Runs it really well. Linux is the better option of the two for it though.
Cool U are the man for retro handheld reviews ;()
If I may can I ask if the ARC-D will be better for Saturn and Dreamcast with the extra RAM?
Saturn is pushing it, but it's better than I was expecting. Dreamcast is imperfect, but definitely playable.

Great review! Any slowdowns or sound crackling in Tekken 3?
Not that I noticed!

It's runs great! And the d-pad is fantastic. I was able to pull off spinning piledrivers are Zangief with ease.

I have a question
Can it play all games of consoles like psp, dreamcast and ps1 whitout joystick?
It can, but you'll need to manually remap the joystick controls to the d-pad in the emulator settings.
@@RetroResolve Great but is it comfortable to use the d-pad as a joystick?
@@Somari27 It depends on the game. Anything 3D I found much tougher to play.
My dream cast works perfect on Linux
For me this is literally a handheld that you want to focus on having all SEGA systems from Master system to SEGA Genesis/32X
Very much agree!
Just stick to linux and sega hardware+games and you will be alright 👌
I keep my PSP Vita for Sony stuff, 3ds for Nintendo and the arc D for mostly Sega.
Psp works fine on mine
That screen is kinda small though no?
It is, but it's also big enough if that makes sense?
Well for fighting games the sprites are pretty big, but for shooting games there can be a lot of small bullets
is there an american made system that plays ps2 games .
you know you can just pair a bluetooth controller with analog sticks🤷
dont download winrar..
Why not?
7zip???
